I'd actually be surprised if they make any profit off of the cosmetics. I was talking to one of the employees and she told me that they are not allowed to tell someone to not touch the makeup itself if they see them putting their fingers in it. They have to let them do it!!! That is garbage.
Definitely. It’s so gross to spend money to try something then realizing someone thought it was necessary to put their nasty fingers into the product. It is happening at nice stores just as much as discount, drug & department stores. I do appreciate my TJ Maxx doing a great job shrink wrapping and putting items in cases to protect the integrity. Mine seems to be the exception though. My Walmart and CVS however seem to be the place where squirrels get ready for a rave. That stuff is chewed up, spit out and super nasty.
Same deal here in Australia with TJ Maxx. People using products and the boxes are filthy. Fingers in eyeshadow palettes, product seals opened and used etc. You do have to take them out the boxes and check them because they have a no return policy on makeup. That said I’ve found a really good bargain there from time to time.
Thank you for keeping it real about financial struggles in your early years and how sometimes the cheaper options are actually the only options. I find it very humbling to remind myself of where I was and develop more gratefulness for where I am now, though I'm not a careless-wealthy person but progress must be recognized and appreciated. In regards to Colour Analysis, if you were typed as a Soft Summer, that palette of colours is what will be your absolute BEST - However, feel free to wear all the colours of summer and there is also a thing called “sister seasons” - example - I am a Spring but can borrow from Fall without looking like death warmed over 😂 as both seasons are warm in nature - I just avoid the colours that are too dull or washed out, because Springs look best in bright, saturated hues. It’s cool to know what looks the MOST flattering but don’t put yourself in an absolute box of “I can only wear Soft Summer”. I would just use it as a guide to avoid colours that won’t flatter at all. For me, the absolute worst colour on me is a light, grey based purple.
I think hair color also can make a big change in what colors work best. I've been a red head for over a decade and I can wear saturated yellows and oranges that I never could pull off with my "real" hair color.

If you know your undertones (warm, neutral, or cool), then you’ll find the quizzes super easy. Even if you googled “free colour analysis quiz” there might be even more options now. I live within 5 miles of 10 TJMaxx/Marshalls stores. While I embrace the randomness of their selections, and I do love the thrill of the hunt, many of these stores are locking their higher-value items in large display cases, and at this time of year, getting a store clerk to open the case and let you really look at something up close is nearly impossible. Putting the items in individual locking cases isn't the answer either, unless you remember to have the cashier let you look at the item inside before you pay. I've seen customers (and their bratty kids) shake the plastic boxes so hard that the items shatter inside their cases. There are no easy answers, but it helps to know how to sanitize questionable items when you get them home. Love the video Tati!

I bought it at Marshall's and now I have three additional eyeshadow palettes from Laura Geller and all of them I got them at Marshall's. It is not very often that they have her makeup when they do, I immediately grab it. I'm so glad to see someone giving her brand some love, it's so underrated in the youtube beauty community. I saw this same PM pallet at my local Marshalls. I also saw a mini Star Wars 4 pan pallet along with lipsticks & blushes. Each store is hit & miss. You gotta br careful as SO MUCH was already opened & swatched. I am a recent convert to those cotton pads & I cannot go back.

I too found a Pat McGrath palette that I had been really interested in at Marshalls. Actually, there were three. And I looked at each one to figure out which one I wanted most. I was glad I did - because two of them had clearly been damaged or tampered with. I got one that was perfect though and am very pleased that I got it more than half off the original price.
Heartwarming to hear that you and James are in a similar situation to me and my fiance! We moved to a small mountain town outside of LA, and when we go down into town we make a whole day event. Always check the makeup before purchasing to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with. And know your brands and prices. Good indie brands end up at Marshall’s, Ross, the Maxx, etc.
My town has a TKMaxx (same as TJMaxx) and there's always so much good stuff in there, not just make up but clothing, homeware, the whole works. The make up in store can be hit or miss, especially if it's due to be restocked (people sure love making a mess lol) but now you can actually buy stuff from them online so you don't have to worry about whether or not it's had grubby fingers in it!

i have the bruna tavares pore filling primer. i like it, its not agressive, more of a liquid balmy consistancy . i feel like thats a great option for people who either have the peeling problem or just want a one stop primer for special occasions.
I’ve been researching seasonal colour analysis for about ten years (and analysed other people!) and I would highly disagree with soft summer, and instead suggest Bright winter. I got the Jacklyn pallette at my Marshall's. It is a beautiful color story...and pigmented. Watch out for the silver shimmer...girl I did a dab...and it packed a punch. I was a tad over done for a coffee meet up...but it was gorgeous!! Stayed on all day...no creasing!
Hi Tati, I'm a relatively new viewer to your channel, I had seen some of your videos in the past when searching for specific products being reviewed. But this year I have really got into watching your videos, I was diagnosed with Breast cancer back in March of this year, only aged 35 and i've been through a lot of gruelling chemotherapy and your videos have become my comfort videos to watch during the hours im sat in the dreaded Chemo chair hooked up to an IV with nothing else to do lol. My favourite comfort videos of yours are your Marshalls/TJ Maxx/ Dollar tree store make up and skin care videos and I don't even have those stores here because I live in the UK! But they're such a comfort to me that I can't stop watching them. So glad you made this vudeo. I went to Marshalls the other day and was concerned about Laura Geller pallettes. I did pick one up and since you gave your stamp of approval I am going to try it today. Also, I discovered Rusk years ago. I bought one shampoo from this company and had not found it every again. I now buy from Rusk online. It is so sweet of you to speak of Jaclyn's palette. While I am by no means an expert on color theory and seasons etc., I've found a good rule of thumb is when you are looking at yourself (or someone is looking at you), ask: "Am I wearing this color or is this color wearing me?" I.e., when I look at myself, do I see *me* first or the shirt/dress/whatever first?
Heyy business student here! So basically stores like marshalls are discounted because they buy the overstock of brands at discounted price, sometimes they can be faulty items (like mistake on the printed package) but obviously safe products! Also it is true to check the expiration date of products sometimes that is why they are discounted but it's not all the products, just be mindful that's all! 🥰

Before I say this, I want to put a disclaimer out there that you would be beautiful bald! But because you asked for feedback... Im glad that one wash lightened your hair up a bit. You look pretty no matter what, but the lighter brown looks better & more youthful, in my opinion! I have been blonde for 2 years, but was ALWAYS a brunette before. I decided to go back to brunette recently & and didn't go as dark after you dyed your hair because we have the same coloring!

Been using the tarte pore primer for years and less is definitely more! You also have to really make sure it’s pressed into the skin before applying anything else on top.
I’ve gotten so lucky at Tj maxx and found 2 pat mcgrath blushes! Divine rose and nymphette both $16.99! Also tons of KVD foundations, lippies, eye makeup and blush/contour in the last month
Tati, I guess you’re a winter, probably a bright winter. I agree that the cold colors suits you, but your beauty isn’t so soft and opaque. The bright colors (like the blue you showed in the video) sparkling shadows and some skin glow fits nicely on you, witch reinforce the idea of a winter option! The only way to be sure is making the analysis in person, but I observe the way colors are on you for a longo time 😅
I love how tati is giving so much credit to Jacklyn, when she is just the face of that brand. She has nothing to do with formulation. Maybe a little creative imput, but she was hands off. She admitted it on camera. But maybe tati doesn't know and is just trying to not get into drama.

Always check the makeup before purchasing to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with. And know your brands and prices. Good indie brands end up at Marshall’s, Ross, the Maxx, etc.
My town has a TKMaxx (same as TJMaxx) and there's always so much good stuff in there, not just make up but clothing, homeware, the whole works. The make up in store can be hit or miss, especially if it's due to be restocked (people sure love making a mess lol) but now you can actually buy stuff from them online so you don't have to worry about whether or not it's had grubby fingers in it!

i have the bruna tavares pore filling primer. i like it, its not agressive, more of a liquid balmy consistancy . i feel like thats a great option for people who either have the peeling problem or just want a one stop primer for special occasions.

I got the Jacklyn pallette at my Marshall's. It is a beautiful color story...and pigmented. Watch out for the silver shimmer...girl I did a dab...and it packed a punch. I was a tad over done for a coffee meet up...but it was gorgeous!! Stayed on all day...no creasing!

Hi Tati, I'm a relatively new viewer to your channel, I had seen some of your videos in the past when searching for specific products being reviewed. But this year I have really got into watching your videos, I was diagnosed with Breast cancer back in March of this year, only aged 35 and i've been through a lot of gruelling chemotherapy and your videos have become my comfort videos to watch during the hours im sat in the dreaded Chemo chair hooked up to an IV with nothing else to do lol. My favourite comfort videos of yours are your Marshalls/TJ Maxx/ Dollar tree store make up and skin care videos and I don't even have those stores here because I live in the UK! But they're such a comfort to me that I can't stop watching them. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you so much for being my Chemo comfort lol, I'm so glad I re-discovered your channel and I always look forward to the notifications if your videos popping up. So glad you made this vudeo. I went to Marshalls the other day and was concerned about Laura Geller pallettes. I did pick one up and since you gave your stamp of approval I am going to try it today. Also, I discovered Rusk years ago. I bought one shampoo from this company and had not found it every again. I now buy from Rusk online. It is so sweet of you to speak of Jaclyn's palette. @@HeyyitzAlyssa For me, it is because the cotton squares do not tear or shred no matter how much liquid I put on them. I like to put toner on my face with a cotton square, and every other cotton square that I’ve ever tried, I have tearing or falling apart or rolling up, etc. etc..

There’s a truck to working off price stickers clean. Hear them with your blow dryer and it peels easily. Remove sticky stuff with goo gone or alcohol

While I am by no means an expert on color theory and seasons etc., I've found a good rule of thumb is when you are looking at yourself (or someone is looking at you), ask: "Am I wearing this color or is this color wearing me?" I.e., when I look at myself, do I see *me* first or the shirt/dress/whatever first?
Heyy business student here! So basically stores like marshalls are discounted because they buy the overstock of brands at discounted price, sometimes they can be faulty items (like mistake on the printed package) but obviously safe products! Also it is true to check the expiration date of products sometimes that is why they are discounted but it's not all the products, just be mindful that's all! 🥰

Thank you for posting the Laura Geller pallettes - I've seen those over and over but never picked them up, I don't know why I had it in my mind that they were maybe not as higher quality... Been using the tarte pore primer for years and less is definitely more! You also have to really make sure it’s pressed into the skin before applying anything else on top.

Tati, I guess you’re a winter, probably a bright winter. I agree that the cold colors suits you, but your beauty isn’t so soft and opaque. The bright colors (like the blue you showed in the video) sparkling shadows and some skin glow fits nicely on you, witch reinforce the idea of a winter option! The only way to be sure is making the analysis in person, but I observe the way colors are on you for a longo time 😅
I love how tati is giving so much credit to Jacklyn, when she is just the face of that brand. She has nothing to do with formulation. Maybe a little creative imput, but she was hands off. She admitted it on camera. But maybe tati doesn't know and is just trying to not get into drama.
