Thank you for posting this! Bought a Gladiator Rubi last month: Had the doors and freedom panels off but haven’t yet tackled the rear roof. I’ll be trying that this weekend. Oh, and I noticed the 2nd ID and 1st Cav stickers on the window: Thank you for your service! (Former 8th ID and 1st AD here.).
Ok... just finished taking back off for first time. Success due to you taking the time to show me how!! Thanks a ton!!! Btw... that back is a bit heavier than I thought for solo removal. Kudos to you and your camera woman!
Thanks for making this. I like the blanket recommendation or even the using a piece of wood across the bed. . Of all the videos I have seen this seems like the most easiest and safest way to remove the top alone without breaking it.
Awesome video. Learned a lot. Can’t wait till spring to take my top off. FYI, front two panels will fit better in storage bag when the front panel latches are in the closed position prior to inserting into the bag. ❤️🥰
Video very much appreciated, I am taking my top off for the 1st time tomorrow very similar circumstances very much appreciated I will now be able to do this job more efficiently and quicker than learning it myself. good team video life
I bought the ryobi 4 volt lithium screwdriver to take out those bolts. Works great. Nice video, I like the step by step to remove the top. We owned a JK and just traded it for the Gladiator.
Great idea to flip the top onto the rear tonneau cover. I've been wondering exactly how I was going to lift mine off whenever it warms up enough here (Saskatchewan). Once mine is off I think I'll keep it off for the summer.
Just be careful. I didnt use a blanket the first time and the bows in the the bed cover scratched the bottom edge. A nice soft blanket is the way to go.
I like your camera wife, good questions and observations. Reporter in the making. She zero'd in on the flying dope head and left you, then wondered why you were breathing hard. LOL
I’m going to have to try removing the top that way. I live by myself so hard to always find someone to help. I guess you use the same process to put it back on?
@@EvolvingMale Thxx for the reply. Yeah I’ve just used pixel decals again for another gladiator - he is awesome! I’m thinking of stripes like yours. Just need to come up with a color scheme as I have the blue color
@@raptoreventsflorida keeping with the 80's them I always thought two shades of blue would look great. Go back and look at some of the old cj color schemes. The Renegade came in blue with off color blue stripes. Looks cool as heck in my opinion.
when you were entering your garage with the hard top in your hand, you made me sweat cold😰🥶. Next spring, I'll be satisfied with removing the two front roofs😉😁
I don't see how that is easier than a hoist. You were one slip away from a total catastrophe. I was cringing the whole time you were walking with the back part of roof.
@@EvolvingMale Doing it today, thanks again man! 🙂 Edit: Did it, not too bad! Not sure I'll be able to put it back on myself as easily, but hey - it's off and in the garage for now, thanks again for the great tutorial and responses!
GP Arroz thanks. I got the stripes done at a local Signarama sign store. I have a video talking a little about it. The hood was done by me. Got those at Pixeldecals.com
Evolving Male, thanks! I haven’t taken mine off yet, was afraid of cracking the fiberglass. I was really surprise that there is no mention from Jeep in their manuals regarding this. Got HotHead panels coming as well as JTops sunscreen. Can’t wait!!!

Yeah. I saw an April fools joke with a two door. I'm sure they'll be coming out eventually.

When reinstalling the top, how tight to you make the bolts?
