I really appreciate when Ben explains comics....he’s a fantastic addition to the show and always has great choices for books. Sal and Tiffany are both legendary as well your whole channel is wonderful and easily my favorite on RUclips, just enjoyed Ben’s take on this and in general a lot and am glad he is part of the show!
Not being a jerk, but just to clarify, Sal selects the books (sometimes I help with random suggestions). And I have to give it up to Sal for all the editing that goes into GBU, especially if we get too rambling. Thank you for love and for watching!! 💕
Not a jerk at all! I’m fairly new to comicPOP, And only recently expanded beyond back issues. I mean more to say I enjoy this format a lot as well! This has very quickly become my favorite channel and the love and effort you all put in is refreshing and sincerely appreciated!

I had an issue of X-men 2099 as a kid and I had no damn clue what was happening lol!
It's very commendable what you guys have been doing regarding the X-Men this month. However, as awesome as Jim Lee was, Claremont's dialogue upon re-reading the early stuff is FRICKIN EXCRUCIATING. I guess all us X-Men fans have such reverence for the man that we tend to look back with rose colored glasses. Remember when they gave Claremont both X-Men books (Uncanny & Adjectiveless) back with Leinil Yu & Adam Kubert? Remember "The Neo"? Remember X-Treme X-Men?! TERRIBLE. My all time favorite Claremont story was a Wolverine solo story in Uncanny pencilled by Barry Windsor-Smith with him wounded & on the run from the Reavers & having Katie Power in tow. That was AWESOME. Why? Because I didn't have to deal with CHARACTERS SAYING THEIR OWN NAMES REPEATEDLY, DESCRIBING THEIR POWER SETS, & LITERALLY SAYING WHAT THEY'RE DOING AS THEY'RE DOING IT. That drove me nuts trying to re-read Claremont stuff. The Lobdell/Madureira&Nicieza/Kubert runs were extremely underrated. Along with the Steve Seagle/Chris Bachalo &Joe Kelly/Carlos Pacheco runs. Anyways, sorry for rambling lol. Keep up the good work. I love what you guys do 4 us comic nerds 💯❤

X-Men 91. The highest selling comic of all time also set up the X-Men story that everyone hates - Onslaught. Yet it's a fantastic issue with Jim Lee art in all its positives and negatives. Yet the story itself isn't the greatest with its chewing of the scenes. Yet it has the "full totality of my psychic powers..." Yet....

I think the only noir book I’ve read besides Spider-Man is Luke Cage. I really enjoyed Luke Cage noir since Luke really fits that kind of story. They did the whole make you question if he has powers or not too.
Obviously,Shakti a.k.a. Cerebra was a Jean Grey analog due to her powers but her look and outfit more closely mirror the Eternal and former Avenger,Sersi.

Why is there video game music in the background at the beginning and end? It's not that loud so isn't too distracting,just curious.
OMG, X-Men #1 is source story for Asteroid M 2-Part episode from X-Men the animated series, the season opener for season 4 (I think), also Tiffany, Psylocke does show up in X-Men the animated series, at the end of season 4, in the multi parter Beyond Good and Evil, in case you're still in the market for a voice for her, LOL.
I think my brain needs more then an episode or two to lock down a set voice for a character, most times!

Watson on Spider-Man Unlimited), 7)Electra Ovirowa in the English dub of The Cowboy Bebop movie (which was great), 8) Giganta & Killer Frost on Justice League & Justice League Unlimited, 9) Avatar Kyoshi on Avatar the Last Airbender, 10) Jean Grey on Wolverine & The X-Men (my favorite Jean Grey too), and 11) Jedi Master Aayla Secura on Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the CG animated series, she's the blue Twi'lek) just to name a few, LOL.
I forgot to comment last back issues that there were two space balls allusions, remember the classic back issues drinking game: sip your coke zero for a Mel brooks reference, chug it if its space balls! 😄😜😂 oh I love ye guys so utterly of my generation

Have you guys heard of Coheed and Cambria they are a band that music tells a story the comics are called the bag online or armory wars (I think) but the best story witch I don't think has a comic it's called the afterman Ascension and Descension check it out if you have time or want

What Sal says about the Sentinels happens in the tv show the gifted where the federal government starts an agency called Sentinel Services (SS officers wink) and there the main antagonists to outlaw mutants.

I loved X-Men 2099. In fairness, the final issue was the first issue I read. I think the later you read the series, the more you like it. Brimstone Love and The Theatre of Pain were cool villains for this series and Xi'an and La Lunatica are 2 favorites of mine, along with Bloodhawk, as he's just such a great visual. Serpentina sucked though, glad she got killed and turned into a zombie

I was excited on the gambit in xmen noir thing…until I read it and he got friggin killed off cuz mags didn’t want to pay him money for Wanda.bruh.
Serpentina's powers are also like Anaconda from the Serpent Society, also I've seen women today with tattoos like hers, soooo it's not that unusual. So you need an "X" in your name to be leader of the X-Men; that explains why Wolverine, Storm, Kitty, Magneto, and Cyclops didn't last long as the leader, no X, LOL

@@comicpop I dunno. I thought I'd be a voice lost in the thousands. I just think you guys have a lot of energy and it's a lot of fun watching. But the close proximity of the sofa seems to squash that unique energy you all have...
Probably a ridiculous comment and I'm probably in the minority of your audience that feels that way.
Back Issues is the only show with a couch. The rest have either a table or we're standing. If you feel like digging, our live shows are especially relaxed.
@@comicpop good to know. I'm new to the channel, and before now Back Issues was the only thing I saw. It was what drew me to the channel. I do plan to go through and watch the back catalogue.
Why am I getting toy adds ? Is this video marked as for children? You guys need to do something about it before you get demonetized for swearing
Tabbye Lynne they marked not for children but for some reason RUclips still put those ads
From what I've heard, RUclipsrs don't choose what ads run on their videos. ComicPop has never really been marked for kids; especially with this whole COPPA business. I may be wrong but nowadays I think that throwing in a "naughty" word or two (but careful not "too" many") may actually help the video steer clear of COPPA
