    Such a sweet truck. I drive a 2018 3500 Lonestar dually. It’s not as decked out as yours, but it is still such an amazing vehicle.
    I love that underneath all the bells and whistles that one can choose from when selecting one of these trucks, you still end up getting something that is pure truck.

      Thank you very much. I still own a 2018 Chassis Cab that does most of my heavy lifting. I wish I could have gotten it in a Laramie trim. It does most of my heavy hauling, but the power and torque behind these gen 5’s are really impressive. This one kind of doubles as my family hauler as well as a work truck. The bells and whistle’s are nice, but they can be a bit overwhelming at times. I will say that the one thing that I really like about this new truck is the adaptive cruise control. That is a very very nice feature that I think they should be putting in all of the lower trim as well.

    Hi, I feel the best thing you can do for your Cummings is add a friction modifier to the oil. Formula 3 from Lubrication Specialists. This is an extreme pressure lubricant. $160.00 per gal. 24 oz 1st dose then 12 oz from thereon. Did it on mine. The engine clacking all but disappeared and runs smooth. Gets in all those bearing surfaces, lifters, chains, etc. Also reduces the engine torquing during start up and shut down.
    For the fuel look at TK-7 704 additive. $70.00 per qt. Pricey. 2 oz treats 30 gal. Beats Diesel Clean that Cummings recommends hands down.
    Check out FASS fuel particulate/ water separator filters. The system also polishes your fuel that removes virtually all air bubbles going to you injection system. Air damages injectors. $750.00 plus install. Relatively easy to install with great customer support if you are needing help with installation. Tell me what you think.

      @@txtoolcrib Great! Just looking out for Ram owners. I've owned 5 Fords; nothing but engine issues. The last one- 2015 F350 Powerstroke. Replaced the engine at 48k due to under spec compression in #2 cylinder. They didn't know the cause. That's when I gave up Ford's.
      The Cummins 6.7 HO is totally new. The changes they made sense from the stand 6.7. Two things to watch over time- composite block and hydraulic lifters. The Ram hemi has had lifter problems that ruined the cam. They say it's fixed. Found out those lifters were Chinese made. Haven't found out about the Cummins lifters yet. That is why the Formula 3 is critical. That product gets into the roller bearings. Once in there, it adheres to the metal. No waiting for oil circulation after start up.
      Keep in touch.

    I wasreally hoping you would take us on a short test ride I was interested in your thoughts about the ride quality and handling. Also, when the truck is unloaded, is the ride bone-jarring and stiff, or not so bad?

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  5 лет назад +2

      I have a test ride while towing my fifth wheel at night. Ride quality is a little stiff unloaded, as with all one tons. I had a 2WD Chevrolet in 06, by far the smoothest I’ve ever owned. 4WD by nature are going to be naturally stiff though. It is slightly better than the 4th Gen though. I attribute that to the integrated air bags. Most impressive thing about this truck apart from sheer power, is how quiet the ride it. The double pane windows up front combined with the noise reduction tricks under the hood make it a very nice ride, especially when loaded. Mine stays loaded about 70 percent of the time. I would not say that it is bone jarring stiff, but it’s far from the smoothest ride you will ever take. That being said, I’m not afraid to put any load behind it. Most people are really impressed with the power, and rightfully so. I think the stopping ability of this truck is equally impressive. Engine brakes combined tow/haul, I can tap the brakes a 1/4 mile from an interstate exit and by the time I reach the bottom of the ramp the truck has almost stopped itself with 15,000 lbs in tow. I will try to get some more videos up of this truck soon. Needless to say, I am really loving it, especially with all the creature comforts.

    Have you had any problems with the ac not cooling very well? It seems to be something I keep hearing about?

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  5 лет назад

      I haven’t. I have been working in Arkansas for the last few months. It hasn’t been quite as hot here as in Texas, and it is starting to cool down now. I haven’t noticed any issues with the A/C unit at all though. In fact it cools off quite fast in the new truck, part of that is attributed to the lighter color. What types of problems have you been hearing about?

    • @jamessheets9205
      @jamessheets9205 5 лет назад

      @@txtoolcrib in high temperature areas the cabin will only cool down to around 60 degrees. I've seen a couple of videos of people using an infrared thermometer and they can only get a reading of 58-60 degrees. Sometimes it will be a little cooler on the passenger side. Reading the comments on those videos there were several people that reported having the same problem. Some also said they had the same problem in their 1500. They checked other brands of vehicles and were getting reading in the 30's and 40's

      @@txtoolcrib yeah that ecm monitors everything fluid levels pressure levels hell I got a p1507 CCV filter air flow restrictions. It told me the filter needs replacing. Heck that oil life gauge doesn't work by mileage it actually monitors viscosity and soot levels so that bypass we both know is good but is it worth risking your warranty just thought I'd give you a heads up. All the technology today is a double edge sword you can thank the EPA.

      @@Jon-O. There is a lot. Ford 67-72. 99-04 super duty and the current super duty is decent. Chevy 67, 81-87,03-07. Dodge . I like pretty much all the old power wagons and 94 all the way to 09 trucks. 2010 and up dodge somehow created the illusion of the hood being taller near the grill than at the windshield. Although the dually bed looks good , it doesn't match the look of the cab. sorry if i hurt any ones feelings . It's just my opinion.

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  4 года назад +6

      Yeah, sometimes when you’re doing videos you can very easily misspeak. I meant that there are cameras on the side mirrors as well as puddle lights. The lane change sensors are in the taillights.
      That being said, you’re pretty rude. I tend to believe it is overcompensation for disproportionately small parts of your anatomy. So I’ll let it slide this time.
