when you were running the drive belt before tensioning it, looked to me like your gas tank is coming loose or at least vibrating like it's not mounted solid. Good video!
i have a new belt for my lt35 but haven't put it on yet because i didn't get a tension gauge with my mill manual keep forgetting to order one got some sawing to do here soon so i should get on that thanks for the video i may have to refer back to it , cheers
Yes! Four minutes ago! I’m near about to buy the old lt28 I’ve been work trading for for years. I’ll need to know how to do this at some point. Thank you!
That’s awesome! I suppose the equipment manual isn’t as relevant now that we have the Googles but you’ll definitely want to pick up one of these gauges. Yours was one of the first channels I subscribed to when researching my mill. It’s all come full circle 😉
Buy two sets buddy so you have them for the next time. Never know when you need it and it will probably be on a Sunday when you need to deliver the job on Monday... ;)
I didn't first time without removing or loosening tensioner. Second time I'm having trouble. You can fit the belt behind wheel without removing. Just have to fold back flat. But now I'm missing slack which I had last time. I'm curious about just removing the tensioner wheel. This would allow placement on engine wheel. Then put wheel back on and wrestle belt on from there. But how does that bolt work...
VERY informative video. My old TimberKing 1220 had band wheels with standard v belts that were the EXACT diameter as the wheel. Try stretching a non-stretchable v belt to fit into the groove. Dave
Was that day one of the just rainy ones, or one of the snowy ones we’ve been having lately? The local weather sure has been challenging. I wonder how many times you’ve been thanking yourself for building that covered area for your mill a few years ago!
Interesting, Jason, but I'm glad I don't have a mill. I could see myself dropping some of those screws into never-never land and having to search for them. I see you dog gave it's opinion of this video lol. Bill
I didn't know that you're supposed to swap your wheel belts when you change your blade, what the woodmizer guy told me, I had trouble with the drive side one wearing.
Those slotted screws for the block of wood looked like they had a hex head on them for use with a nut driver or socket. Slotted screws are just plain evil, IMHO.
Nice to see a production sawmill up close as far as the engineering and workings of it!
I got my new belts on the way. You took the scary right out of doing this task. Actually you made it look easy. So you must be a good teacher. Ron
Thank you, Ron. It was definitely easier the second time but hopefully the video will help.
Jason, great video. I've never had to change my drive belt, but now I would feel comfortable doing so, thanks. John.
Thank you, new to milling and your channel.
Very nicely done, sir, as usual, excellent video. Thanks for all you do. Stay safe, and God bless

Good video. Seems quite complicated!! You certainly don't want to lose your manual or special tool!!
Thanks again for another informative video, well done. Also thanks for the reminder to check the belt tension, it's been a while...

Good luck!
Very interesting, good maintenance is a must for a reliable saw. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Thank you. The bit on the adjustment tool is just what I needed. Is Woodmizer no longer running the sharpening service in Portland?
Nice upload I can only guess some old nail was the cause of the belts demise

Thank you, Dave! I’m sure there’s some prying and cursing involved😂

Great video belt damage might have happened if your band broke.
That’s what I thought but I can’t think of a time where that happened.

She did! Twice!😂 I didn’t know it until I was editing the footage.
Don’t know if it’s possible, but a video tour of the dealer might get some views.
Good place for antiseize
Great video thumbs up.
Thank you, Craig!
How old were those belts
Not old enough. I have 267 hours on my mill and that’s the third set of belts.
I didn't know that you're supposed to swap your wheel belts when you change your blade, what the woodmizer guy told me, I had trouble with the drive side one wearing.
It makes sense to me to swap them for the exact reason you mentioned.
Those slotted screws for the block of wood looked like they had a hex head on them for use with a nut driver or socket. Slotted screws are just plain evil, IMHO.
They do but I didn’t want to walk back down to my shop for the 37th time😂
Yeah they are a nightmare on anything old especially brass slotted they deserve a life ban
Good stuff
Thank you!
nice work
Thank you!
Looks like ya picked up a box of new blades, and you don’t use Joe Maine’s turbo #7’s.😂
