Corrupt is one of my favorite books of all time and is actually what made me really love PD. I Wasn’t able to finish Bully and found Birthday Girl just okay but after reading Corrupt I totally understand why everyone loves her and I actually wanna reread Her other works. I’m also reading TSV right now and loving it! I also think why i didn’t really like her was because I read them when I was just getting into taboo and dark romance and now I feel like I could appreciate BG and Bully so much more than I did back then
I get why a lot of people hate Rika but I just can't help but love her so much. People said that she's annoying but idk I can't seem to find her annoying. yes she's kind of stupid facing some circumstances but she has her reason and that makes her brave and badass. honestly her's and michael's relationship is my favorite after damon and winter. idk they're just so much connected and i have a thing for power couple so. i love your rankings really thank you!
Totally never been able to understand why Rika is so hated I mean her life isn't easy she is really strong. Imagine losing your father and basically growing without her mother because of all that happened to her. Rika honestly grew up all by herself with only people getting close to her to hurt her or to gain something from her. I loved Rika and Michael they are my second favorite after Damon and Winter of course. I mean Kill Switch till this day has to be one of my favorite books ever.
I looooooved Devils Night series. One of my top book series. I agree with you about Hideaway, he does seem like a background character, sadly. I still need to finish Fall Away series!
Punk 57 was the first story book i ever read in my life and after i finished it i was obsessed. I couldnt stop thinking about it for weeks so i decided to check out some other books of hers. I started reading credence and loved that too. I'm afraid to read any other author because i dont think anything could top punk 57 for me.
Read every single one of her books. Love Penelope Douglas so much. She's my 4th fav writer after Sarah J. Mass Nalini Singh and J. R. Ward. But her and Kristen Ashley are my No. 1 YA novel authors. Can't wait for Hellbent Series😍😍😍😍😍
I wish she would write more books in the age range of Birthday Girl. Credence really took me for an actual loop. The angst in it really ruined it for me.
Oooo this is so fun! I have read 3 books by Penelope Douglas so far: Birthday Girl, Punk 57 and Credence. I really disliked Punk 57 and Credence, but Birthday Girl is literally the best romance I have ever read. I ADORE it so much! 💖
When you were prefacing the book that people will probably get mad at for ranking lower, I was so afraid you were going to say Birthday Girl or Credence. I totally agree with the Punk 57 rating, I also didn't love it as much as some other people did.
I ordered Tryst Six Venom Last Night and I can’t wait to read it when it comes I’ll probably do a video like this in the future as well it seems so fun maybe a Colleen Hoover one too.
I have read all of her books besides Tryst Six Venom and I would say Kill Switch is my favorite and Misconduct was my least favorite! It was still a 4 star read though. I love these videos!!
i've read credence, birthday girl and punk 57. i don't know why but the taboo of birthday girl bothered me. i just didn't love it and didn't find it to be a very interesting story. punk 57 was interesting and i liked it. credence even though i felt uncomfortable at times...the story itself is actually pretty unique, i have never read anything else like it and even though i thought to myslef 'WTF' throughtout it..this was a book that i thought about for days after.
This has got me so excited to read more Penelope Douglas! I’ve read Birthday Girl (which I loved), and Credence (which I.. didn’t), what would you suggest I read next? ❤️
I started reading Penelope's books starting from Bully and even after reading all of her other (amazing) books it is still in the top 3 😍 So I'd say my list would be: #1 Until You (Jared is my biggest book boyfriend crush 😭) #2 Bully #3 probably Birthday Girl, but it changes a lot lol
Personally I loved Punk 57 and rate it way higher than Corrupt which was what everyone recommended to me, but I really disliked it! Agree that Birthday Girl is my fave of hers too.
I wanna start reading Penelope Douglas books but I’ve no clue which one I wanna start with…..can someone recommend me her books. I would prefer it if there’s any book that she’s written that’s under the enemies to lovers , fake dating or the work place romance trope (or even something sad.)
I just read credence! I loved it, I would love to read a second book dealing with just Her and Kaleb. 🥺🥺 but now I’m obsessed and must read more of her books. I’m stuck between Bully, Corrupt & Punk 57. Great video 😋
I just discovered Penelope’s books, and I’m so hooked! I’ve already read 3 of her standalone ones in a span of 2 weeks, and I’m not stopping haha. Her stories are unusual and that’s what I like about it. I’m really excited to dive into Devil’s Night series!
Great Video. I almost started to reread the Bully series just from listening to you talk about the books. Going to read Tryst. Still haven't read Birthday Girl, I own it, will get to it. I wasn't a big fan of the Corrupt series. At the time it was my first walk on the dark side, since then I have read and enjoyed many darker books so I am sure my impressions would change if I reread it. Sometimes the school, especially the High School Bully trope is hard to take for me, because I feel like growing up is hard enough without the stress of being tortured by a crush. Good writing can make me get past my hesitation sometimes.
I remember getting into credence without knowing anything about Penelope’s book in general, so since I hadn’t read a lot of spicy books, I was surprised to say the least
I really, really like you, because you are sweet and perceptive and open for anything which good writers produce. Without prejudice, rolling eyes and moral attact. Stay like this and enjoy your life with good books and everything you want...
I didn't love NIghtfall neither. It was ok but after Kill Switch, the bar was so high. My favourite would be split between Credence, Kill Switch and Punk 57.
I don't hate Penelope Douglas but I honestly avoid her books because most of the tropes she write about are really uncomfortable for me. I did read Birthday Girl last year out of curiosity for the hype surrounding it; I like her writing style and I wish I can grow more accustomed to her books. :)
I still have 3 books to read (credence, misconduct and tryst six venom) so I don’t wanna rank it yet. I for sure can say kill switch is top 3 without any hesitation.
Interesting. I tried Penelope Douglas based on some book vloggers who really like her. I started with Punk 57 and ... hated it. I DNF'd it. I couldn't see how any love could come from the abusive relationship this couple had, especially the hero's treatment of the heroine. Plus, they were allegedly high schoolers but led their lives like they were much older. Where were their parents?! These "kids" needed guidance -- sorely -- and had no one lending any. Of course, I read only half the book, so maybe some adult stepped in. I later learned that this was a so-called "bully" romance which I had never heard of before despite the fact I've been reading romance for decades. I am pretty sure I dislike that type of "romance" with a passion, at least bullying among teenagers who are still children. I do have Birthday Girl on my TBR pile. I'm going to hope it has nothing in common with Punk 57.
Honestly it's been a wild ride for me and PD's books. I started with Corrupt and HATED it. Still do. I gave that one star. Then I think I read Birthday Girl which I also hated. Then I read Bully and Punk57 and I was like ..."ok better but not great". And then I read Credence and wtf I LOVED it. I gave it three stars which for me means I really enjoyed a book, and after that I read Hideaway which you and I share similar feelings about . Killswitch though ??? That was a five star read without a doubt. COMPLETELY turned around how I felt about her writing and is the reason why I'm reading Tryst Six Venom right now which I am not hating at the moment . I know I read Conclave but honestly I don't remember it at all lol and there isn't anything anyone can say to me that would make me like Rika. She's not completely annoying but also she really is lol but yeah from what I've read so far I think Killswitch is for sure my number one and then Credence. Those two were just so good to me!
Agreed about Corrupt I hated Michael so so much he ruined it all for me I felt like Rika and Alex had more chemistry than her and Michael I know I’ll be attacked for this opinion but it’s how I felt about it
@@katerinaareadsss noooo I TOTALLY agree!! I actually was bummed that Alex was treated like this pass around friend for most of the series. I kept saying to myself "why doesn't she and Rika get together ??" It was just so stupid lol

Hi, I know you don’t know me, my name is Naomi and I was scrolling on RUclips and I saw that you like to read books and so do I! I’m doing a research paper comparing Kill Switch and Wuthering Heights on how although both books were written in different times they have a similar representation of toxic relationships. If it’s not too much too ask I was just wondering If you could read what I wrote and give your opinion on it because I can’t find anyone that can help me make my analysis better! Even if you can’t, that’s okay thank you anyways for taking your time to read my message!
im convinced NOTHING can beat Killswitch... Damon's story was heartbreaking
True
kill switch it’s literally one of the best romances ive ever readddddd
DAMON 🥵
Killswitch and Birthday Girl being top 2 are the only options🙌

Read "Birthday Girl" yesterday and wanted to see other`s ranking. For sure number one, totally agree
I’m currently reading Corrupt it’s a great addicting read. I give it 10 points.

I finished my first Penelope Douglas book (Tryst Six Venom) last week, and I'm excited to read more from her!
I wish she would write more books in the age range of Birthday Girl. Credence really took me for an actual loop. The angst in it really ruined it for me.
Have you tried misconduct?
Oooo this is so fun! I have read 3 books by Penelope Douglas so far: Birthday Girl, Punk 57 and Credence.
I really disliked Punk 57 and Credence, but Birthday Girl is literally the best romance I have ever read. I ADORE it so much! 💖

Yeah I didn't like Punk 57 and was nervous I would feel similar about Birthday Girl but knowing you liked that gives me hope.

I really liked Birthday Girl. It is the only Penelope Douglas book I have read.
For me reading all of her books my top 2 are Falling Away and Killswitch 🥰
MISCONDUCT is so underrated. I LOVED IT.
I've only read Birthday girl (which I loved) and recently finished Bully. This was a great video. I can't wait to read more of her books.

Penelope is good for enemies to lovers books. Especially the fallaway series or devils night series. Fallaway is tamer.
I love this ranking videos! I picked up Kulti after your last one and 😍😍😍
Do any of these books feature woc as the main heroine?
Liv from tryst six venom is part Native American
@@LaceyBooklovers That’s great! A little bit disappointing if that’s the only rep from these books but I might still pick up a couple of these books.
