Parents had one just like this, but with a 350ci engine back in 1997. It was the first car I used when I was learning to drive. My friends and I called it the yellow submarine. 😂
this was a tank. had 1 growing up...sat 3 across front seat.
the sound of the engine, kind of windy, i remember so well.
We had one almost identical to this when I was a kid. This was Oldsmobile at its best!
I've never seen a Delta 88 regular town sedan with power windows and such this is rare, we had a 76 Royale four door Hardtop no pillar, and it had the 350 4 Barrell, but only options on ours was power antenna, ac, power trunk release, and cruise control, and tilt wheel, I never seen a plain Delta 88 with all those power accessories, I guess it depended how you ordered it.
I own a 76 Oldsmobile delta 88 Royale it has 20,000 miles right now, that’s what brought me to this video, all original parts too, along with the owners manual and pioneer plates it’s the 455 V8
BEAUTIFUL!
My dad bought one like this but it was a hardtop. He bought it new for $6000
Great video, Intellitronix just released a direct fit LED gauge cluster for that ride!
I had a 70’ Delta 88 in this exact trio colors with the 455’ And then a little later had the 98’ Regency coupe in the same trio colors.
Wonderful 😊
Did you say 2 thousand (+misc) miles??!!! Wow... I want it!!!
I had a 72 convertible, and while the 76 is entirely different, I STILL love it...
Pure original sexiness 🔥🔥🔥
My dad had a dark brown one just like this one
WOW! This car's cost in 1976 was an average $4500.00. That is massive appreciation but still a bargain today.
we had a brown ine called "the brown car"
The slim shady car "a 1928 delta can even get me to the shelter"
Just put an AAA sticker over the blemish on the trunk... nobody will notice.
I wonder how many 60 year-olds are thinking "WOW, I can finally afford one of these!".
…a true time capsule…
…it’s hard to believe that this is an entry-level Delta 88, though the buyer did opt for the deluxe trim package…
…in the final yesr prior to its fowndixing, this car would have compete directly with Chevy Impalas, Buick LeSabres, Ford Galxies, and Dodge Polars and Plymouth Fury…
…the Ivory exterior mated with a tan vinyl is typical of the era, and in the Delta line-up you could really option out with the Royal Crown Landau Coupe festuring a statement nless roof crossbear, deluxe padded vinyl roof, color-keyed wheelcovers, a special hood ornament with upgraded plush carpeting asnd deluxe fabric selection, from leather to premium velour…
..this owner opted for the optionsl digital clock, which last so much longer than analog timepieces…
…this 350cid/5.7L 2bbl. V8 psited with the workhorse partner, the GM 400 TurboHydramatic transmission was dtandard, but ‘76 represented the swan song for the 455cid/7L 4 bbl V8…
…and yeah, this unit should automatically qualify for the rxtended warranty program…
...what a great comment, thanks for watching our videos!...
sad. last year of a "real" oldsmobile...olds 350 with a turbo 400? other issues are not worth talking about. this was the last of oldsmobile as i remember it.
One of the most unappealing cars to own. I grew up with a burgundy delta royale, and i was embarrassed getting picked up after school. If i could buy this car, I'd drive it to the crusher.
