I’m working on my W123 as well today, something loose in the steering. I have similar looking leaks. I suspect the front main crank seal. The oil is getting thrown to the sides and blown back. I also suspect that the rear main seal is leaking. I’ve got a couple of Toyotas with 30 and 40K more miles without any significant leaks (nothing on the driveway). My ‘81 300D has only 140K miles on it. So many leaks! Can’t complain too much as the car was always kept in a Garage by previous owner, there is no rust. Anyway thanks for the video. Very well done.
Good video sir. The front fenders are glued from the factory. You can carefully use the heat gun. The red fluid you see is power steering leaking from the top (they use ATF). Also, use a pickle fork to separate the tie rod. It works great🚗🔧🇩🇪
Thanks for the great tips Vito! I have watched a lot of your videos. I was thinking it could be power steering fluid but haven’t looked at the reservoir yet, it’s right above the AC compressor though, so good chance it has a leak there too.
@@bokosdieselgarage Power steering hose may be leaking. Or front Power Steering Pump Seal is leaking. It's very common. They sell a power steering pump reseal kit on Pelican Parts or FCP Euro. Or you can buy just the front seal if you want. I've done that before because that's what usually leaks. The pump will have to be removed which is easy. Use an air gun to remove the front pulley and that will expose the front seal

I wish there where 400 dollar mercedes left in europe it doesnt happen period 900 and completely parts cars yes but all the rest is in or africa and still running with no doors seats and dinged to crap or marocco or such. build to last and will run for ever if taken care of.
