Always be careful in new waters. Plenty of areas around me that have rocks marked with sticks, or nothing at all. Watch your depth finder and look over the side every now and then. A GPS that tracks your path will give you a good idea what was safe. Also, tides can affect coastal areas hiding sand bars and obstructions

Just bought a boat that's pretty big, basically a small yacht compared to a small John boat I used to have. Sitting in a slip but Shifter cable is apparently bad. They have to lift it out the water to fix it but I'd have to drive it up river to another place to get repaired. New to driving a boat. From what the previous owner told me the shifter is not working well and may have no reverse. So. I am nervous as hell cause you have to have reverse to back this boat in. I haven't even taken it out yet cause some loose cable came off somewhere that I can't even crank it now. Trying to get the old boat owner to give me more info on what's going on. Think I might have bit off more than I can chew.

Do you guys know anything about q west boats? I’m looking to upgrade from my 16’ Lund to the sun tracker bass buggy but there’s a local dealer near me that sells qwest pontoon boats and they have a fishing model. Thanks
