Let's hope Wildcard doesn't botch the release of Extinction like what happened with AB. It was virtually unplayable for many console users. Thankfully, AB is pretty stable now.

Ab was a botched masterpiece. They implemented a lot of cool ideas for ab. It was already a fan favorite map, so adding the bioluminescence to the different areas gave the entire map a new vibe. With that said, I say it was botched because on (delayed) release you couldn't be near render range of a cosmo without perma crashing. You lagged so badly you would die to any predator in the vicinity. And still up to today you crash so much and lag so bad. It's not a fun experience (I play on Playstation). Really hope extinction isn't the same...

Once the server died on this map, they started shutting them down. I had to start a fresh character. I lost a lvl80 because my character was in a pvp server, and they shut it down. One way or the other, that was a heavy loss. I'm only playing the game because I'm being held hostage with due to no refund allowed WTF.

I’m on console series X and iv just had my entire save wiped. I saved the game went to dashboard then restarted later on in the day and then gone. Lost my caractor save. I give up with this fucking game. I was 21 days in game days on the island had all my battle dinos ready. Now gone! Wildcard fix your shit game!
I'm on PS5, I've lost my character about 17 times, there are console commands that you can use to get your base, Dino's and items back. It's when the map save is lost that everything is completely gone, that's happened to me 3 times. The way I look at it now is that Ark is a PC game, first and foremost, Xbox and PlayStation version of ark is just getting dragged through the mud until PC is happy.

Your first problem is playing on console. That said it'll probably be bad for console players. That's just how it's going to be for most map releases
A map every 3 months is a pretty good itinerary. Ill be pretty close to be ready for a new map by then.

I crash on aberration but it's not as bad as you. I believe it's because of the ceiling of the cave, when I'm on the surface I NEVER crash.
