same for me...the more often i watch it the more amazed i get by nick. there are so many details in his articulation like the cymbal pet at 24:55 or the tonality rimshot control at 25:35. its just incredible how he is connected to his kit. imo one of the best drummers out there.
Everything out of this performance is simply incredibly. This is one-take, almost no breaks, half an hour brutal musical perfection. I've listened to it now really a couple of times throughout the years. I can't find a single mistake in timing, articulation or dynamics. In contrary to most metal drumming performances this got way better everytime I watched it. Catching all the facettes of his flawless execution demands more than viewing this once for sure. Also It counters all the aspects that make modern metal drumming more distanced to the listener. This is just him and his drums. Pure druming. No editing, no triggers, no click, dude doesnt even need headphones cause there's no inear monitoring. Nick's a god. He deserves way more recognition.
The way the guy in the back looks at his friend whenever Nick is playing something jaw dropping.... that's literally the exact same way I would look at my friend!!! (did you just see that???)
@@chaoticambiance he has tons of flavor, especially considering how difficult it is to innovate when playing stuff this hard and fast. listen to his performance on the armed's untitled album. that there's some real tasty stuff
@@chaoticambiance also, 6:55 and 13:40 alone have more flavor packed into them than the drumming on the entire discography of nirvana. and i fucking love nirvana
He detuned his drums. His cymbals are screaming and begging to be forgiven for whatever they done. Sorry son, no mercy. Pulverization. Abuse. Annihilate. Destroy.
it's been 4 years since I first saw this video. since then I come here regularly to worship Nick.
Same dude.

Me too.
Find someone who looks at you the way Nick looks at the hi-hat when he is slaying the drumset.
What a monster, thanks for this!
Hahaha nice one
How great is it when a fast song is just ripping along and the drummer gets a little wild-eyed and pushes the tempo even more. Fucking a right.
Man this is already 6 years old. Still vibin'
I’ve watched this over 100 times. It still makes me say “holy shit”!

Yes. Well put.
This is quite literally my favorite video on all of RUclips.
The way the guy in the back looks at his friend whenever Nick is playing something jaw dropping.... that's literally the exact same way I would look at my friend!!!
(did you just see that???)
As much as the playing itself, that dude's reactions are pure gold. Man, when shows start happening again? Bands are going to play their ASSES off.
Have to give to the rest of the band a kudos for staying right on time with him.
Those two dudes to the right of Nick had the best seat in the house. Nick is an absolute beast!
one of the craziest drummers in heavy music!!!!!!!!!

his right hand alone is a better drummer than me,
Punk as fuck man!😁
Better than Grohl.
Grohl in his prime was fast too. Grohl said he's his favourite.
No. He got the speed, but not the flavor.

Two completely different styles of drummers, you smegma.
He detuned his drums. His cymbals are screaming and begging to be forgiven for whatever they done. Sorry son, no mercy. Pulverization. Abuse. Annihilate. Destroy.
