    It was torture for me watching this video, because it was me that turned down this vehicle that you hear Dave talk about. When I originally saw this car in Dave's previous video, that car caught my eye that I had to get it and find out if it was still available. That car would have been perfect for me if I already didn't have a car. But I am in the process of looking for a car for my daughter, I thought she would have the same reaction as me. Someone that is older may have a different reaction to that vehicle than someone younger. I was looking at reliability first, the low mileage on the car, and the absolutely fantastic condition of the car. The low mileage just takes a big load off of my mind to whether this car was taken care of. With that kind of mileage, the car didn't even get a chance to be possibly abused, or that the person didn't maintain it. They basically never drove it, so I wanted something reliable for my daughter to get back and forth to college. Like Dave said that car can go so many miles into future, it only has 14,000 miles. Obviously over time the engine may never die, but obviously there is no guarantee over time you may need to do a couple of things to it that may pop up. But anyone purchasing that car knows what they are getting into. I have seen plenty of videos about those cars, plenty of them now have hundreds of thousands of miles. I will admit that by the end of that day I may have been thinking about more about me driving that car every day, than picturing my daughter driving it everyday. We were looking for smaller sized cars, so that was basically a big part of turning down this car. Even though it was torture for me watching this video, I also had my daughter watch this video. She kind of felt bad about turning it down because she knows I was trying to get her a car that she definitely now thinks is very good. Dave making this video was overall a good experience for us because she was listening to Dave referencing someone's daughter anonymously the whole time knowing it was her he was referencing. That was definitely a crazy morning, but I already went around to my friends telling them the story first, then showing them the video. Its definitely a video I can reference to & have some fun talking about for years to come. Thanks Dave for all your help.

      What did she not like about it and what did you end up getting for her? She could driven the car through school and then even after to save money. I see so many kids driving old Camrys and Accords around here. And I have seen a few of them with aftermarket touchscreens if that’s what she wanted. The NAV system in this takes bluetooth at least. I have a 2010 for road trips with 78k miles. I absolutely love the car but i am in my 40s!

    Gorgeous car, somebody will be real lucky to snag that up.
    A nearly new 16 year old vehicle with a timeless design and still way more appealing than about 95% of any new vehicle out on the lots today. Shocking somebody traded that in at a Chevy dealer, just insane.

  • @janejustice859

    It's a great car. That particular model is considered one of the most reliable.

  • @zfunk9
    @zfunk9 3 месяца назад +5

    It’s still a 16 year old car. One problem could be that cars do like to be driven. If not, seals and such could dry out and could be a lot of repairs to keep fixing leaks and dried out hoses, gasket, etc. Also will probably need every single fluid replaced, guessing they are all 16 year old fluids in it.

    • @IKhanNot
      @IKhanNot 3 месяца назад +1

      Exactly. Driving a car is the best thing you can do for it. Fluids are not just for lubricating internals. They help keep the seals from drying out. In reality a rural or highway driven higher mileage vehicle will almost always be better because it was operated under moderate low stress use.

    • @joer1678
      @joer1678 3 месяца назад

      Even if you had to spend two to three thousand dollars to do the fluids and gaskets it’s well worth it. Odds are with it being one owner they have done service to it during their ownership

    Not a cream puff. I have an 05 rx330 with 94k miles in much better condition. Those seats show a good bit of wear and the undercarriage has some rust. At 14k miles those seats should look nearly new.

Oil changes which are free 4 sets of tires , first set of front brakes last summer and 1 coolant flush is all i paid for service. Everything else is stock, id jump in it and drive across the country in it without any worrying. Boring machines yota and lexus make phenomenally well built across the board. It’s not a cream puff; scrape on bumper cover, driver seat is worn, clearcoat peeling. It’s a nice low mileage Lexus but it was exposed to the elements for some of its life. And yes, it will run forever if properly maintained. The mileage is almost too low, I worry about seals and gaskets. Good luck to the buyer, it’s a solid vehicle.

    Cool car…had a 2007. That color totally looks pink in person. Mine was low-mileage as well until I dumped it in 2017. It’ll probably need axle seals after sitting so much. The next generation was assembled in Kentucky starting in 2016 (my next es350) and it’s definitely not as well assembled as my 2007. There’s also an aux input for older phones with headphone jacks under the armrest.

    I recently sold my 2007 Hyundai Sonata that was my wife’s car. We bought it new, it looked nearly as good as this even though it had 120,000 miles on it. It needed nothing, everything worked. I sold it for $5,000 which was probably less than it was worth but I could no longer garage it. I enjoyed every second with this car for the 17 years that we owned it. I would have rather sold my 2018 Honda CR-V, but that didn’t feel like a practical decision. I would say that this Lexus should easily be worth $12-14,000.
