Avex, Japanese biggest music rabel started this X-gal project, has appointed JKOP to the head producer of XG. As J-pop has been focused on internal market for a long time and Avex wished to changed this situation. Avex put huge budget on XG to create global girls group . Initial training was held in Japan for building up their basic skills like dancing, rapping and singing. As you can see that they have solid skill for everything which required to be a first class artist. Afterwards, they chose Korea as a market for promotion, channel to global market. That’s why some people misunderstand that XG is K-pop but they clearly define and manifest themselves as X-pop. They are from Japan but not ordinary J-pop nor K-pop but x-pop which keeps learning from good from other music genre and keep evolving. No categories of countries or boundary for XG!!! They are phenomenal!

If you don’t mind. Start from the beginning and see their evolution. For me, their discography has no skips at all. Since you listened to Shooting Star, Left Right, and Woke up. Start with Tippy Toes then Mascara. Skip SS and LR. Then listen to their mini album. Start with Hesono O & X-Gene (those are the intro songs), then GRL GVNG (girl gang), TGIF, New Dance, and Puppet Show. This whole album is a vibe. They touched almost every genre. Also the album has their alien story sorted out. The intro songs are basically them in an incubator. GG is them evolving into aliens preparing to land on earth. TGIF is basically them saying, “let’s just be ourselves”hence the title of the song, you’ll get it when you listen to what TGIF stands for. ND is them on earth enjoying themselves, learning a “new dance”. PS is almost like a prologue to what happened to their planet. Back to SS is them leaving their planet and LR is just them traveling in their ship. Hope that helps with their lore. Then listen to Winter Without You, their Christmas song. You won’t be disappointed.
