As a fan I’m torn, was very excited for the Longo hire, but disappointed with the results but very excited for a power spread scheme. A hypothetical question for you is with all else being equal, how would the Minnesota game have been different with Grimes system installed. My biggest fear is not being able to run the ball against average teams like Minnesota this year as well as the previous losses to Minnesota we’ve had the past 5 years.
It all comes down to personnel and execution, both by the coaches and players. But if we take the basic tenants of Grimes' offense and applied it to the Badgers personnel could there have been a better path toward victory? In hindsight sure. The wide zone scheme fits a guy like Cade Yacamelli quite well and you would have Trech to run the jet sweep and if they dipped deeper into the Shannahan world he could have been this team's Deebo Samuel. The team just looked worn down by the end of the season so I don't know who or what could have gotten them out of their funk. But let's hope the rebuilt staff brings a spark, and with the dead weight gone a new outlook on attacking the rest of the B1G.
Same issue as the last time...sounded fine with I air checked it. I boosted the audio when I rendered it and to me it sounds so loud that almost distorted now. I'll keep boosting but I don't hear the issues some are having?
@@thedairyraid Dude, really? It's an ongoing thing. Try it on a laptop without headphones. I have everything cranked up and can barely hear you. Perhaps research the problem instead of claiming your viewers are the problem.
@bodarvelle8600 As part of my air check process I play the video on my laptop. I'm sorry I hear it just fine. I'm not saying anything against the viewers, however to your point I've researched that many devices have issues with the RUclips app like various IPhones where you have to go through various steps in the settings to fix audio problems. I apologize if the audio does not sound right for you and others. However I can't fix something that I can't hear myself. I could continue to boost the volume louder and louder but then I wouldn't be able to quality control it.
I am warming up to his hire. One issue is a few years in many places. Three schools six years. Main item is a very good second half with KU and by then the fans hated him. This hire, the qb hire and the transfer portal pickups will determine Fick's fate. Coach I am thinking you at least respect him and you are waiting to see him in action before making judgment? At this point for me it is what it is.
It's all going to come down to who the QB coach will be, but if they can pair him with a solid coach maybe with some OC experience it will go a long way to lessen any doubts I may have.
Is there any triple look/just normal veer out of the inside zone ran at 31:00? Looks like we’re not actually reading here, but curious if that’s in his bag at all.
I've taken a look in more depth at the Kansas film and he did run some triple options out of a couple different looks. Most notably out of the pistol I and using orbit motion out of 3x1. He didn't use it a ton but enough that defenses will have to game plan for it.
@ If it wasn’t already sealed, I think this definitely ends lockes run as qb. Seems like the Smith more so but maybe mabrey fits better for this offense. (Based on qbs we have on the roster now) also think this adds some intrigue for 2 back looks with jones/dupree
Audio is low, but that just means I had to wait until I got home to watch this! Coach, who do you have in mind for the QB coach that Fickell mentioned, who presumably will oversee the QB and the passing game?
Looking at connections with Coach Grimes lead me to an interesting possibility, Mark Helfrich. He was at Arizona State and Colorado before become OC and eventually HC at Oregon.
That is the million dollar question! Could they spend big money and get Gino from Notre Dame? Maybe Corey Dennis (ex-OSU) from Tulsa? There is an interesting connection with Grimes in Mark Helfrich who was the QB coach at ASU and Colorado before moving on to be the OC and then HC at Oregon.
Been reading a lot, especially from the Baylor media, and it seems like there he was made to be a scapegoat for Aranda's bad recruiting and use of NIL. He inherited a dumpster fire and made them respectable without a QB. Kansas lost the OC that the fans viewed as the savior of the program so no one will live up to his legacy...
Hello Coach. I like your work. May I suggest something? When you replay a play, please do not repeat it 2 or 3 seconds in length for about 7, 8 times. It makes me dizzy. Bigger mouse point will help, too. Thank you.
It's right in front of me! Like I've said before the audio was fine when I air checked it, but I still boosted it to the point it started to distort. The audio now is very loud on my devices so I don't know why some devices have problems?
Can't wait for another year of bangers from The Dairy RVO
Thank you Ryan! Appreciate this video!

Definitely too quiet again.
@danandyumi going to have to agree to disagree as it sounds fine if not a little too loud on my devices.

hmmm, definitely a lot of kotelnicki in that kansas drive. Curious if he'll keep some of that in his repertoire
If I were a betting man I think we are going to see a bit of Kotelnicki with some 2024 Dirk Koetter Boise State.
A couple of reason, KU was building a new stadium. Second, KC is 45 mins from campus. Most of the students are from KC area.
Fair enough! Can't say I know much about the border war between Kansas and Missouri...just glad to see it's not about money.
I hope Cade comes back, but I doubt it based on his playing time at the second half of the season

@DisloyalMusic56 I wouldn't be surprised if Locke stays, at least through spring ball, but they will definitely be shopping in the portal.

yes - definitely
Kinda scary that no fan base misses him and it’s public knowledge in Lawrence that players didn’t like him

@@thedairyraidhe was the issue in Waco …. Not aranda
@@GradyWoollsright when they were giving up 40+ pts a game at the end of the season, totally on the OC lol
@@thedairyraid same way Badgers Fans are still jones'ing over Paul & Jim???
Sounds about right!

Good luck with Grimes. You are going to need it.

I need to get the football coach out of me...but good suggestion!
Get closer to the microphone.
