Yes, my favorite experience so far is spending an hour in the car paint customization only to not be able to save it and get a timed out message, about 10 times in a row.
my absolute favorite part is to getting my sorry ass disconnected at worst moments possible such as races for examples, which is especially true on some races that's as long as the average Qantas flight routes
I defended this game as much as I could. As a TDU fan this game is a disgrace to the name and will kill TDU for good. The devs dont care about the feedback. They are speed running how to kill a game and they deserve all the hate. It also caused a software issue with my xbox controller and almost bricked my friends console. The game won't make it to the end of the year and they only have themselves to blame.
It’s not my job to support the game after its launch if I hate it. I paid my money, and the game sucks. Thats my support. They should’ve added all the stuff we wanted before launch and not after. I’m not going to play a game that isn’t fun for a year in hopes that they will make it fun eventually. I can easily throw away my money, but my time? Not so easily.
There's no identity, and without proper communication we have no clue when it will have that nor if it will even happen. Yes the driving is good, but where is this ship sailing... They pushed it out the door as a racing game that may work... sometimes. Then add in the lack of communcation, and you just don't know what their intentions are nor how quickly they will be able to fix anything. I don't care about a little snippet of Ibiza, because they need to focus at the issues the game have right now in this very second. Until that is fixed, there is nothing to build upon. They should not have released the game until 9 months down the line at least, and stop trying to hype content that is coming in some pass which is just content pulled out of an unfinished product to begin with. If your front door is on fire you do not go and sit down for dinner. You drop everything and find the fire extinguisher and put it out as quickly and efficiently as possible. They decided to push an early access game out the door as-if it's a full release, and then they deserve to face the consequence of that, period. PS: You are doing the same thing I see all the time where you state that other games have had issues in the past, which only means you justify bad with bad which means *_you_* are the problem. Nobody should accept being wronged, which means you should never stand up for it. This is what toxic positivity is, trying to smile while the house is on fire...
Hi there, thanks for watching. A lot of what you're saying is aimed at KT/Nacon for 'pushing' the game out before it was ready. We've seen this many times before where it's out of their hands and they just have to make the best from a bad situation. There is no way to factually say either way. I agree a priority should be put on fixing bugs and such before adding more things. I believe that's what they're doing and as you say, without communication we have no idea. We have no idea for or against what you're saying currently and it's all just speculation. I believe they have good intentions and their hearts are with this project for the long run. I apologise if you think I'm trying to generate false positivity. In reality I can see nothing but videos focusing on the bad parts of the game, I just wanted to make a video focusing on the good parts (mostly) and telling people that I've had a good experience with the game so far. I mentioned FH4 and it's issues because that was one year after release from a MUCH larger developer and it was a sequel to 3 other games. This is a brand new fresh game, the first in the series from this developer and everybody's crying after one month of release.
@@Tyresome You just did it again, justifying bad with bad. This is what toxic positivity is. You want other people to accept unfinished products which is bad in itself. A full release should be finished at the day of release, this is self explanatory, and people just like yourself are trying to promote the opposite. Trying to show the good parts while at the same time saying that other people have also failed in the history of humanity, so just try to overlook these bugs and swallow some copium in the meantime, is just simply outrageous. That by default is a biased opinion.
@@a8f235 Apologies, I understand now. And admit I absolutely agree with you. I'm a retro gamer at heart and I miss the days of putting a disc into my Dreamcast and just playing what had been released. The ability for patches to be released post launch ruined the gaming industry in a lot of ways. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of games that have been released with 'day one patches' and just as many have had terrible launches. It's absolutely rubbish. But why single out this project from the rest? Why is every little bit of content I see negative when the game is mostly playable even if not the lifestyle game we wanted (right now). You're right again, I am sucking upon the teat of copium because I REALLY want this project to succeed, if not now then down the road with updates and such. We may never know why they were forced to release the game early but it's the cards we're dealt and I hope they can still end up delivering the game we all wanted ASAP. Thanks for sharing your views though man, it means a lot to talk to people as passionate about gaming as I am.
The graphics you're showing off one minute into the video as an example of how good the game looks: it looks basically monochrome on my screen and it's very dark. I'm wondering if it's an example of graphics that look a lot better in HDR mode on an OLED screen, which is something I don't have? I guess it's supposed to be stormy weather but it still looks a bit off to me, perhaps because none of the cars have their headlights and taillights on even though it seems to be dim enough to warrant it. I've only played the Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown public demo in June, I'm not about to buy the game both because I'm not into online multiplayer games (the previous TDU games had full offline single player career modes in addition to the MMO modes) and also because there were some issues with the game freezing for several seconds to draw in the next portion of the map any time I was driving fast, even on medium-low settings. I'm on an older graphics card but it's one that can handle Forza Horizon 4 without any noticeable issues. I still enjoyed exploring the map and the graphics on medium settings looked "fine" to me but I'm not overly-demanding when it comes to graphics. As long as the graphics in a racing game looks at least as good as an above-average XBox 360 racing game, I'm not going to complain too much. My only real complaint about the graphics in TDU: Solar Crown is that the lighting in the game when it's a clear, sunny day out makes everything in direct sunlight look bleached, even the road which is bizarre. If it's a sunny day out, I expect colours to look saturated, not pale. Again, maybe it's lighting that looks beautiful on an OLED screen in HDR mode but it's certainly not optimized for those of us with older LCD monitors. I do agree that people comparing the graphics in the game to the Playstation 2 version of the original Test Drive Unlimited (a port I still enjoy playing today and which looks great by PS2 open world racing game standards) are indulging in a ridiculous level of hyperbole. Aside from my issues with the sunlight in the game, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown in medium graphics mode looks better than Test Drive Unlimited 2, which is probably a low bar but I thought TDU 2 looked fine for the most part.
I'm with you on this one man. The lighting in some areas (especially the ones you mentioned) needs work. It's strange because in the neon lit back streets at night the reflections and lighting are sublime! I don't personally experience too many stutters or anything (could be a demo thing they've improved on now?) but I will say the game does still need optimisation updates for all platforms. It's an absolute tank to run. I also don't really hold graphics as the be all and end all like yourself. The handling and sounds of the vehicles is great and that's what immerses you in that TDU driving frame of mind. We just need some more updates and lifestyle stuff and we'll be good to go! :)
You still have time to delete this video my guy. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is horrible no matter what you say, no matter how you feel and no matter what you think. You're honestly embarrassing yourself by trying to defend it.
He’s not going to because the developer probably paid him since he’s being sponsored right now. Just look at his channel, the dude didn’t even do any TDU videos at all.
As someone who plays this daily since gold launch and has close to 150 hours it's nice to see a non bashful review of the game, don't get me wrong it still has issues, but ehen everything works it gives an experince a lot of games don't do as well these days and thats a bit refreshing, hope to see this game rhrive and see success in the future
The only negative thing I could say about the game is the fact that it is 'online only'. If I'm being honest no racing game should be online only and people shouldn't be forced to have a persistent online connection. Having said that though, everything else that people are complaining about, I agree with you Tyresome 1000%. To me there is NOTHING wrong with the graphics whatsoever, it does NOT look like a PS3 or PS2 game, and as for the prices of the cars, if people are referring to the grinding aspect of the game to GET those cars, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!??????????? So you all would prefer this game to be a breeze (for lack of a better word) to GET those cars and not have to work for them? Come on. At the end of the day, we all need to help the devs make this game better with 'constructive' comments. Not trash them in the comments and forums. Because people can debate it all they like, but if enough people abuse the devs in the comments section and forums (need I remind you of Cyberpunk 2077), we may not get what we want after all and it will be OUR fault.
Its so stupid that you cant pause or restarting races while in mid races Consider crew motofest both game currently Allways Online(Motofest Gets offline mod later) you can restart races/pauses races/restart races after done/also respawns you near event start after event ends
I will say this, I get that there are a variety of race types missing along with houses but I do still enjoy the game for what it has so far. With that being said it does need fixing in some crucial areas. The A.I. needs to be either adjusted a bit or give us the option to select the difficulty, Im not asking for a breeze in the park but seeing a bugatti take high speed s turns like a damn lotus without slowing down or seemingly running on a different physics engine than we are is very annoying. Then theres the network issues...if your game is going to be only online for the forseeable future you need to fix your server and network issues asap, randomly getting kicked off at anytime is very frustrating...especially 20mins into a 40min race. Lastly the economy of the game. Personally I dont really mind the high pricing of cars it gives me a reason to keep playing the game, but heres what they NEED to fix...after repeating a race five times your payout for that particular race starts to decrease and wont go back to normal for 24 hours real time...this was a beyond terrible idea in a game thats already a grind fest for cash.
100% agree. I’ve been trying to play online with friends and having issues and such. It’s a month down the line and it starting to wear even people like me thin. This franchise and even this particular game has so much potential. Let’s hope they pull it out of the bag some how!
You need to make a new video about TDU Solar Crown season 2. Telling viewers about how now is the time to play catch up since you can repeat any race Unlimitedly and loose no rewards. The task lists of cars is how you become rich easily and the 5 new Selene edition cars you have to buy to see the new tasks you have to complete in order to get those free credits. The Lamborghini Diablo VT is just like the old season 1 car list to where you win 100 races in 1st place to earn 1 million free in game credits.
@@Tyresome Thanks I hope you get better man. TDUSC I hope it succeeds and makes all of those that only care about mass multiplayer races see this latest update is a catch up season for those who quit the game early and have no rides due to how bad certain issues were on console versions of the game for players. But now most bugs are gone and you can replay races endlessly and still keep getting the same reward value without any decrease.
I don't have a steering wheel setup i play with a gamepad and I am enjoying the game just as much and i love it the game does need some more optimization here and there but people need to be more patient rather than a bunch of whiny crybabies and im glad you're pointing that out we need more content creators like you out there. Sadly i play on PC and on the NA region and my region is full of cry babies especially the content creators that play in it
Thanks man. 100% agree, some more optimisation and lifestyle additions and this will be a proper addition to the TDU franchise. Thanks very much for watching ❤️
Thank you for this, I feel the pile-on has been forced to a degree. I loved TDU 1 and this doesn't feel like a TDU. But if you, as you so very well said, just focus on enjoying the cruising this game still hits the spot. The fact that Ibiza's town is coming soon really makes me hope that there is enough of a renewed interest for the developers to put enough resources into fixing the objective deficiencies. I also came into this straight from TDU 1 (built my first gaming computer) and so I think both of us are in a sense like people time-warped from a years ago into the now, so we have different expectations ig. Nice room setup btw.
Thanks so much for this! All I wanted to say is that the game is broken but has some redeeming qualities that I've enjoyed and people have been jumping on me as well as the game. It's nice to receive a positive comment :) Well done on your first gaming computer! I haven't played TDU1 since it was current back in the day! Definitely going to need to do a revisit I reckon!
Hi. Where is ur colors in the game. This looks horrible. My game doesn't look like this. I have colors. Ok, I see ur colors now. I bought the game about 1 week ago and so far I'm enjoying it. I haven't played a racing game that didn't have some sort of profanity in it and profanity is what I don't like (T for Teens and above). So this one is right up my alley. As I play this game, when I come across something that could be better, I'll contact the developers and let them know. I have contacted them about something that happened, and they did get back to me about the situation. Let's contact the developers and let them know what we want to see happen. Until then, I'm gonna njoy the game as much as I can and ask y'all questions about things I don't understand and the game play aspects of it.
Agreed. There's a lot to like. Cars don't fall in your lap for free every second level. It's nice to have some non-car gameplay. The map is great and I personally like the handling. My only gripe is that my Moza R5 keeps losing input, and I need to brake/downshift to re-acquire control of the wheel and pedals. Anyone have any suggestion ? I run a 6-month old computer with an RTX 4090 so the computer is not the problem.
My wheel disconnects rarely. I have to press a pedal to get it to re-engage. I think it’s a known bug that they’re working on. Just another quibble really! Depending on how much it happens I can see that being a very obvious issue for you though! Have you reported it?
@@Tyresome Yes, I have. In the meantime, I've turned down a lot of the FFB effects in the Moza app and it's....playable, although occasionally frustrating. I've lost some races because of it.

I haven’t actually tried burnout paradise properly yet! Thanks for the recommendation! I’m guessing it’s probably angled a bit more towards the arcade side?
@@Tyresome I’m just kidding, Burnout Paradise is an older game that was remastered a few years back. I’d love to play Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown but sadly it’s always online, if they ever update it with an offline mode I’ll pick it up without question.
Thank you! I'm sick of the people taking every shot at this game possible. I'm on PS5 and by no means is it perfect, it's clear they would've wanted more time because they kept talking about delaying to release it as close to perfect as possible, their hand was forced - it's obvious to anyone who stops and thinks about it. But the foundation of the game is solid. Missions, houses, challenges everything like that can be added. If you are playing a driving game and the driving feels good, it's fun to cruise, then you have the foundation. I would prefer that rather than a game that's full of stuff but feels like crap to drive. I personally don't find the AI too hard yet regardless of the car I'm driving but I am only level 37 atm, I know Hypercars are supposed to be stupidly hard though. People are so stuck in what they wanted this to be from the previous games that they've held this to an impossible standard. Yes, KT talked it up too much before launch which is a real shame and people had their hopes too high but almost every racing game recently has had a terrible launch, from every F1 game since 2017 that is literally released each year with the same bugs and glitches from previous years, to Gran Turismo 7 was controversial and buggy, Forza Motorsport definitely didn't have a good launch, Crew Motorfest got slammed online for a while from what I saw and yet everyone is obsessed with saying this is the worst thing ever. For everyone about to bitch that "this isn't a TDU game" and "you just don't get it" blah blah, I played TDU 1 and 2, I had high hopes but saw the beta reviews so I set my standards at a reasonable level and went into the game knowing what's missing. I do understand what people are talking about BUT the potential this game has is incredible especially with the addition of Ibiza coming up. If people are so obsessed with "it's not a TDU" game and I get it, but look at it as a driving game with any other name and I think you'd have to admit it holds up and the only thing making people be so insanely harsh is the name 'TDU'. If everyone stops shitting on it every 5 seconds it'll have a chance to be everything people want but just destroying it online for the sake of it will encourage the publishers to stop development and kill the game where it stands.
I absolutely agree! And the fact you're enjoying it on PS5 is even better! I'm a die hard TDU fan and because of that i'm focussing on the good points to support the project to make sure they can add the stuff we want. If the 'tdu fans' keep bitching, refunding and destroying this then we may never had another TDU game at all.
@@Tyresome 100%! I absolutely loved the first game, the second game had moments but being a PS2 player I had massive online limitations there. But I honestly find it more frustrating and saddening to see the game be obliterated by commenters who are just complaining for the sake of it. I wanna see this game become everything it can be, not be dead before it gets the chance.
The game will be dead by Christmas. The reason for live service was to try and bankroll future updates through micro transactions. But no one is paying for their slop, and player counts have been south of 1000. The game deserves to die, because they don't have the awareness, skill, or wherewithal to be able to rectify their appalling design direction.
Look at a game called drive Club from 2014. Is not just the server problem is the whole game and the name they used it. The game thoes stuff good most car sounds, handling, Sense of speed a good map, an Okey Grafik. The game is only solar Crow it don't deserve the name of TDU. In solar crow u don't have the feeling of the life style like in TDU. Missing missions Missing race types Missing story Missing houses with garage The game force u to buy quiet many cars and some are just way to good while others are way to bad and only a handful u can pick from. Then u should buy a car for only 2 races. Stupid rank races. World feels dead. AI traffic lack of variation. Performance problem. (FH5 works fine but Solar Crow 😂). Always raining or wet roads. I spend 100 of hours in the old TDU even that I know the handling wasn't the best but it gaves u a different feeling of playing, cruising racing. I wouldn't rather buy the FH copy Motorfest then solar Crow. That's how bad solar is. They are a few thousand people wanted solar crow but seeing the game today u see all most dead game already and problems after problems. Who want to buy a game when is a high risk the game be dropped.
Can you please not call Motorfest a FH copy when the first FH literally took the "fesfival" idea from Dirt 2's main menu and flashbacks- oh wait, "rewinds" from Grid and the very first Horizon game took the "you are a random who has a chance to be a superstar" and "win a duel to win a champion's car" from TDU2, THAT's how "original" Horizon was
@@Deer-Hirsch That doesn't change ANYTHING, you can't tell me the FH1 festival wasn't inspired by Dirt 2's main menu, plus the HUD and pause menu in FH1 had pink color undertones while Dirt 2 had green ones, it was clearly inspired
slick tires aren't really an advantage, you can make your car more powerfull with standard tires and win easier. you don't loose that much grip with standard tires... at least that's how i do it lol
The Pista is a COMPLETELY different monster with slicks on in the dry. It feels like a proper track car or something, super sticky. Any other combination is a slippery (but fun) time as you saw in the video
Well thanks very much my lovely! It was only during editing I thought you may have thought I was referring to you with regards to FH4 gameplay...it was a different Matt...
Does the game have faults yes my issue is it focused on the stupid race solar crown bs instead of the fly to an island rent a car buy a house then buy a car no storyline that's why I love TDU over TDU2 it didn't need the hard to watch annoying cutscenes. How ever people complaining about the graphics are so bad I don't know what they see but I see it's not bad not GT7 good but definitely not bad or even mid then theirs the online issues I got the game a few days after it released and had 0 crashes 0 disconnections and other people also have no issues so I'm starting to this it's on the user's side of this because if it was the server everyone would be screwed. Can the game be better yes but I think people just hate on it because that's what's bringing them views
Exactly that! Content farming is going to kill this game. Not the game itself. I also agree, this game does need more lifestyle additions. THEN it'll be a proper TDU game.
Out of all 3 games the driving physics or so satisfying you can of photo realistic graphics but if the cars feel off it is a big turn off I never thought you could spinout going uphill in a stock 2CV TDU2 I'm looking at you!

The constant negativity as of late has been absolutely brutal, we’re all in the same boat here and we just need to stay positive because I’d love to see this game succeed. Great vid! Very refreshing lol
For sure. All the hate mongering from content creators is tragic. Just because they have to do maintenance or the live events don’t work for 24 hours….DRAMA
Thanks. A positive video for a change. I'm playing with a RTX 3070 and the graphics are even better. You should really try Horizon 5 and The Crew Motorfest. Both are very good and arguably better than Solar Crown.

Oohh. That does sound tragic tbf. I've never spent that long in the editor tbh, my condolences.
my absolute favorite part is to getting my sorry ass disconnected at worst moments possible such as races for examples, which is especially true on some races that's as long as the average Qantas flight routes
I really hope some sort of magic happens and the IP gets saved but by the looks of it...you're right.
@@Tyresome so you are back peddling now...typical when someone is trying to grow subs
Will be streaming it tonight on the channel if you wanna join xx

@@a8f235 Congratz you won an internet argument, have a cookie dude 🍪
graphically - I agree its at least up to spec with the PSP
With a tinge of Sega GameGear.
If I remember right in the TDU when u flash your light on the highway the car when possible switch lane to the right.
You still have time to delete this video my guy. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is horrible no matter what you say, no matter how you feel and no matter what you think. You're honestly embarrassing yourself by trying to defend it.
Aww I like it :)

Exactly 100% on the same page as you good sir. I want this game to have a chance to reach it's final form. Pure TDU heaven!
100% good sir!
Forza horizon 4 is based in Scotland 🏴 😂 don’t say it was based in England in front of Scottish people 😅
Lmao! You're absolutely right...soz bbz xx
Its so stupid that you cant pause or restarting races while in mid races
Consider crew motofest both game currently Allways Online(Motofest Gets offline mod later) you can restart races/pauses races/restart races after done/also respawns you near event start after event ends
Yeah man! It’s honestly the thing I dislike about TDUSC most.
If you’re in an AI only race, allow the restart! 🥲
Very good points! I’m sick at he moment but shall look into it next week! 👌
How much did they pay you for this review?

I have contacted them about something that happened, and they did get back to me about the situation. Let's contact the developers and let them know what we want to see happen.
