    I didnt mention it, but the more residents you have, the more tax money you can squeeze from them. To increase your max residents number, level up your hearthstone with shipping.

      A minor side step is if you gift/negotiate with NPCs enough you can invite them to your property
      You can then ranch a bunch of high desirables to produce fertilized eggs to increase your taxes

      @Rumplenutskn  22 дня назад

      @tylerulfmann4586 ranching is one of those advanced mechanics I might look at after 100 more hours 🤣

      That also requires pretty high charisma for really good NPCs with good stats since your charisma needs to match their highest stat. So for example if the NPC you want to recruit has 70 STR then you also need 70 CHA along with getting 75 affinity with them just to be able to recruit them by said gifting/negotiating. And then you also need to need to wrestle with the egg rng since higher level NPCs also have significantly lower egg rates compared to chickens or sheep for example.. And then finally you also have to get more rng to favor with you that the egg actually turns out to be fertilized..
      Long story short, it's a huge pain in the ass that frankly most people will just give up and find some other way to get rich unless you just really mainly charisma. Even if you have do have high CHA you can still get unlucky if the gifts the NPC takes is something you cannot get quite easily.

      If you still intend to go the fertilized egg route, I just suggest buying really expensive slaves/pets like at least 20k+ orens worth instead of looking for a good NPC and trying to recruit them. But then again this is more like an investment once you do get some some money. Selling wine or just doing quests will prolly just get you more money in a shorter amount of time.

      unless you’re spamming bonito wine the hearthstone rank from shipping slows to a crawl past Vernis, you don’t realize how much Loytel’s Pioneering is helping until it’s gone.
      Recruit pioneers, they’re good. You can always cart them off to another site once the hearthstone’s maxed out

    Faith tax and resident tax is actually massive as game progress. The policy will level up also hearthstone too. On day 1000 with 18 villager NPC at home I generate 6500 from tax alone (You can check this in board) while only got 1500 from tourism and 1200 from lodging per month.

      @jaysonmoya1089 22 дня назад +2

      yep and even Loytel tells you about this from the start by him saying that tourism and home ranking don´t pay enough compared to just taxing your residents in the long run they are both just for pasive money to start out

    On the whole "taxing your own residents" thing, keep an eye open for people with the Hobbies of Extravagance or Smoking.
    Both of those hobbies have "High Tax" as one of their effects. And that means taxing them is especially effective.
    Extravagance is guaranteed on rich folks, like Nobles, Magnates, and Elders.
    Smoking isn't guaranteed on anyone, but aside from High Tax, is also makes them produce electricity for the base... somehow!
    It might even be prudent to make a base made up of solely High Tax residents and just... taxing the heck outta them!
    Resident Tax, Wealth Tax, Faith Tax!
    Just set them up with nice beds, with high level Comfort and Quality traits, and you'll be sitting pretty.

      @@Iyasenu I learn so much from comments. I thought high tax was bad when I first started and that they smoked and made energy to make up for costing you more

    More involved, but also much more lucrative, is to set up an automated brewery. From what I'm aware, you need "Delegated Farming" to auto-farm mushrooms or other crops (in range of a farming sign), you need to configure brewery barrels to auto-accept decay-able raw food at high priority, and you need a box configured to pull booze at high priority, with a sales tag on it so that the stuff sells (and/or configure the shipping chest itself to pull booze), with the barrels and box all in range of a goods stock sign. I haven't actually gotten to this myself yet.
    I've heard that wine doesn't scale much in price through the game, but raw crops do if you focus on farming to upgrade them. So someday you could transition to selling raw crops directly.

    I see... fame's probably going to be the reason behind my seemingly uncontrollable tax hikes. I'll have to go see an informant, as I'm sitting on a 9k tax bill and collecting 2k in salary.
    You mentioned your 5 highest-worth furniture pieces determine your house ranking unless you've got the legacy policy, yeah? Is the general strat then just to trial and error lugging furniture back to see what sticks? Cheesing isn't a whole lot of fun for me, so I'm really interested in just nicking random crap from towns or whatever, but one thing I've gotta ask - Is there an easy method of bringing extremely heavy items back to base? Return scroll doesn't work, as if you pop it, run around a bit, then pick up a heavy item right before the scroll goes off, then you get a message about being overweight and it cancels. Do you just have to level weightlifting extremely high? I got a fountain recently in a nefia boss chest and it was like 2000s or something - does weightlifting even go that high?
    Thanks for the video, by the by. It was very helpful.

      @@romeobenvolio4145 I know you can fish up some incredibly heavy furnitures. The heaviest thing I've towed is a shrine made of Mica so it was only like 80ish. But I've found a lot of random art from nefia chests that have boosted me. I also think you can go wrong with grabbing expensive looking stuff from a city. Honestly this is all new to me as well since yesterday when you got me looking at it. Slowly but surely

      The delivery boxes in towns let you ship heavy items back to your base easily.

      You can also fish for god statues. I find that altars have a decent worth, as well. You can also get rare materials (i.e high level woods from seed upgrades, gold, pearl, gemstones) and high craft skill and make yourself furniture.

      All furniture increases total property value
      You just gain the most bonuses from those specific 5 IMO
      Furniture ranking should always be secondary to tourism value
      As tourism value simply need gold

      Well it's kinda insane how much people don't know that fame is connected to taxes even if the game vaguely tells you that but you also need to be reading and paying attention to what the games tells you along with all of the other stuff you are required to know just to play the game.
