I disagree on your take that it is not a song to be remembered,i think it is a 10/10 it has lots of emotions, lots of power and a marilyn that is talking about his strugle with substence abuse and beating the addictions and the destructive life style.
I agree , glad to see he is still Manson but older and more mature and healthy, we want to live even if this life has its sickness, it's only as sick as the secrets we keep , this is a dope track that i see a natural progression as a artist .
This comeback excited me like no other. When all the haters expected him to look so miserable, unhealthy and all over the place, he actually shocked everyone by coming back looking way a lot younger, healthier, more focused and high-performance than ever. I'm also very grateful for this comeback because I'm a big consumer of his music and I want endless music production by him. Hail to the pale emperor.
It’s a self reflection song, he’s talking to himself; the imagery is him letting go of someone he knew n becoming new; a more polished version of himself
I interpret it as he’s embracing his demons rather than becoming born again. He’s referring to the demon he doesn’t rid of: ‘But the beast is calling for us and slowly assuming control’, ‘I built this cage we've been trapped in together, Can't remember where I hid the keys.’ Then the demon is addressing him back (fitting with the lower tone whispering voice he portrays it in of: I was never your taxidermy, I'm sewn into your soul, Keep sleeping, I'll make you dream of me. Further affirmed that in the video we see portrayals of demons behind him on the line ‘keep sleeping, I’ll make you dream of me.’ Visually in the video we also see the first scene is of Lucifer along with a painting depicted of him in Manson’s own artworks laid around him, lots of one eyed symbolism/along with darkening one eye. 👁️ There’s a lot of other things like the song lyrics surrounding a crucifix and a book about The Sacrifice of the Mass.

Love the new track! Very reminiscent of Mechanical Animals in my opinion. Excited to hear more and can't wait to see him in Chicago tomorrow! So happy about his new path of sobriety.
On first listen, I definitely thought it was good, though I found myself slightly underwhelmed only because I think there's a kind of hype that's developed off the back of the controversy that's left people eagerly anticipating some kind of grandiose, defiant response through his new music, and this didn't come across as that. However, the moment the track ended, I wanted to hear it again, and I've listened to it about 5 times now. I actually think it's excellent, if only slightly redundant in some parts. I love the atmosphere in the verses, and Manson just exudes composure and sincerity in a way that I don't think he has in like 20 years, which also suits his incredible physical transformation. It doesn't feel like a try-hard emulation of his past glory that comes across like self-parody, as I thought some of his later material did. In a way, I guess it is a grandiose statement, one of redemption from self-destructive behavior in a more general sense, and a return to form, the aesthetic of the music video and his physical appearence putting the exclamation point on that sentiment.
I agree with ALL of this! Musically it is not a recreation of the past whatsoever, but a brave embracing of the future which his sobriety also is 🖤 I stand by the idea that he doesn’t want to dwell on the negative and give them power by focusing on what occurred but wants to focus on his recovery…at least with this song. A recovery album remains to be seen…other topics may be addressed in other songs.

He's dropped most of that Bowie styled vocals. You can clearly hear he's so much better without being smashed on coke and alcohol. Sounds as though he's not laying down this time while laying down his vocals. As a long time fan from the 90's , i would have to say this song is one of his best ever. It's a shame he didn't quit sooner! . Keep showing the young lot what time it is Manson!
He certainly looks and sounds healthy again, and you can tell he didnt phone this track in like alot of his recent work. Lyrics sound like he put some effort into them again also. I didnt know he was working with Tyler Bates again, I thought Tim Skold was doing the new album.
No it’s Tyler Bates. The Skold stuff got scrapped. I think he wanted to go outside his comfort zone again. I don’t really feel like MM has ever “phoned it in” but maybe tried to rehash the past on albums like Born Villain and he’s more potent when he keeps moving forward 💣💥⚡️
The man is back, something masterful, it was worth the wait for all this time, it reminds me a lot of Antichrist Superstar, the costumes, from what I can see, and the video itself, with low financial cost but something masterful, makes me think that Manson wants all the attention for himself, he wants to definitively show his return to the scene, as if he were imprisoned, confined by the accusations against him, being accused and having repercussions only in the neighborhood is one thing, now being accused and the whole world finding out about these false accusations, the guy has to have a lot of psychology to turn things around, and Manson incredibly uses these frustrations and tools through his art to produce what we call masterful, like in the time of Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals Hollywood! He's back! Get ready feminists!
You saw how many times the symbol of the air element appears, while it came out of that membrane that now, its video clip is very deep and with many symbolic elements, like in the Tarot drinking a golden cup, in short, I love this new stage of the reverend.
Love the return of Manson. He looks great, his voice sounds great. After GAOG he went through talking and strain screaming his songs, he wasn't singing. The new single, pitch corrected or not, I am happy he is singing the song and sounds like the Manson I knew from the 90s and early 2000s. The new single calls back to "Wrapped in Plastic" on POAAF, calls back to the Worm character behind Antichrist Superstar and calls back to the obvious Adam character of Holywood. This song is definitely about his struggles with drug addiction and how empty his life was while in active addiction. The callbacks to previous eras to me is him trying to get back to when he felt Marilyn Manson had something to say, when Marilyn Manson wasn't just cranking out incoherent songs. When his life and artwork had meaning. I'm going to his first headlining show in years tomorrow, I am super friggin stoked and the release of this song has just sent me over the edge with excitement! I cannot wait to be apart of the return of the Marilyn Manson I grew up with.
His voice seemingly aged backwards. It’s beautiful. His new live performances you can hear how he’s singing a lot clearer. I’ve always thought he was great no matter what but I am very biased lol Of course during THEOL & Born Villain I do think he was at his worst vocally but also addiction wise. I feel like it is a very song memorable for the sake that it’s his comeback song. I’m glad he’s back. The video is stunning. Kind of reminds me of Cryptorchid in parts of the video. As for him not touching on the accusations, personally, I don’t think he will. I believe he’s just moving on & closing that chapter for good. I’d be surprised if any of the new songs touch on that subject. The song is definitely a 10 in my eyes. It’s been stuck in my head since day 1 but like I’ve said before, I am definitely biased when it comes to Manson
The King has returned. To me, this is one of the best songs he has ever released. I'm so glad he is sober because he has so much to offer and I feel his creativity has been obscured as of late.
Is Tyler producing this? It is a very different kind of mix in my opinion. The guitars seem to be played by Tyler but the overall sound is closer to Shooter approach.
From what I understand he’s working with Tyler Bates and he is a live musician for him and a producer on the side as a composer for films, games, action, and horror film genres. As well Paul Wiley who is a composer for independent films, but still not sure if he helped on the album or if he’s just a live performer.
First of manson looks healthy and maybe sober there , way way way skinnier then what we remember him from past MVs and shows and appearances ,and tbh the song reminded me a lot of holywood and post holywood era manson , good track honestly, the song is better then the entirety of we are chaos album
he is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH Nothing can keep Manson down this can go on Antichrist come on man never heard manson do anything like this please
Great analysis, you never disappoint. I agree with you on the imagery, he pays homage to everything we know and love about his artistry, but nothing new. At least the video is cool and visual. The song is unique and Manson seems to be in a good place. This song puts out a Holy Wood vibe for me.

@@machomaniac4512 his last album had 0 good songs. production was awful. voice was distorted and awful. and manson himself said it was a mistake after promoting it as a "masterpiece". Pale Emperor kills Chaos album.
@@wadegarrett2376We Are Chaos is great what do you mean? ‘Infinite Darkness’ is one of the best songs he’s ever put out it could have been on Antichrist. There are maybe 4 filler tracks I’ll give you that but it’s maybe his best album since Holywood tbh.
@@plague877 100% disagree. every song is trash. nothing on that sounds like Antichrist. Stop with that. Antichrist is in a world of it's own and shouldn't be compared to anything else he's done. If you like WAC, great. Enjoy. But when the artist himself calls it a Masterpiece when promoting it and then right when it comes out, says it's a mistake and tried to reproduce it and re-release it (failed at doing so due to personal reasons), that should tell you everything. Garbage album. Somehow wors than Eat Me, Drink Me
i am SO happy with the vocals and singing in the higher register. the last 3 albums have lost me with the croaky groaning. this sounds how Manson should sound.
I like him but I'm not a massive fan. I would say above average casual? With that, Its really impressive that 30+ years into his career he is putting out quality stuff. Think of any band/artist this far in and you usually see serious quality issues. I don't see that here
I think 🤔 a sober Manson is a more dangerous Manson we have yet to see in his music! I really liked the song it if it can be repetitive in my mind then it’s good enough of a song!
thanks a lot for your review. I agree in most parts of your thoughts. I like this clean voice although I loved this very unique Manson Voice Pitch which is now a bit missing. But I guess this song and this different style of singing shall be understood as a statement that things have changed in his life. I felt long time unsure how to handle with my love to Manson as a musician since the 90ies regarding the allegations. But it was funny: Yesterday in the morning I decided to listen to a Manson album first time after a year or so. It was Heaven Upside Down which I really like. And in the evening I hear about the new song and video. 😂 So, I think, I have to give him another chance. He and Trent Reznor aka Nine Inch Nails have been too important artists for me when starting with alternative music in the 90ies. I can't let him go easily.
Did you hear a triangle? I heard he bought a little triangle instrument? lol 😂 I do agree with you it’s about a 7.5. Think about it the BAND Marilyn Manson is gone. Every member that made the band gone and done left. It’s just Marilyn now.
Yeah I think if Twiggy and Pogo came back for this big return, or even Tim Skold it would have been more epic but I understand he is fully a solo artist now for business reasons.
@@thegodbombs I don’t know how true it is, but I read from someone in the MM group on fb that Tyler sabotaged Tim on this record as they were suppose to work all together. But you know how rumor work.
@@divinevirtualreality Sounds about right. I know Skold was involved originally and they had been demoing stuff at Kanye's studio back when Kanye had stood up for MM. I've heard Skold did that synth on "As Sick As the Secrets Within" but we don't have official confirmation from anyone....
Also if you think about it Manson seems to like to go in deep with one producer for awhile now. Think about it...Skold replacing Twiggy in 2001 or so...then Twiggy came back and Skold was gone....then Tyler Bates replacing Twiggy as right hand man...it's like there can be only one major collaborator since it stopped being a band.
I believe his voice is un-Autotuneable. Might be more of the music making him sound very balanced and melodic. I love it though. The music video is....just fantastic!
Am i the only one who thought of london after midnight mix? The beat and the sound reminds me of IAMX kinda gothic vibes. Love this and he sounds younger. Like we have again the manson of the eat me, drink me era. Weird to say that but hope the new album is great. Manson has been a huge musician for me and this reminds me why i love his art.
The tuning youre hearing, something other people have also noted, is his actual singing voice we haven't heard it since Mechanical Animals. Especially after 2007 when he blew out his vocal cords, which a lot of people forget.
I’m not sure about that I think it was just a little pitch corrected which virtually all music is now…the vocals sound great and I do like the clean singing! He’s doing clean singing on plenty of albums but definitely most on Mechanical Animals 👽⚡️💊
@@thegodbombs it does sound like a little bit of post has been done to his voice, but i agree its been a long long time since we have heard his vocal chords not soaked with booze. he is actually using some of that wide range he has and not just screaming/mumbling the lyrics.

Musically it is not a recreation of the past whatsoever, but a brave embracing of the future which his sobriety also is 🖤
I stand by the idea that he doesn’t want to dwell on the negative and give them power by focusing on what occurred but wants to focus on his recovery…at least with this song.
Love this comment and yes I think a big difference is the lack of “Bowie style” vibrato in the vocals and how clear the sound
I loved it so much made my morning when i woke up and saw he had released a new song and he looks amazing as well!!
@@morrismalice9094 💯💥‼️‼️
It also reminded me of Tourniquet but more polished as well. Nice we think alike.

Man I am listening to this in loop since it’s out - I guess it’s not his most ICONIC song but honestly it’s a banger
The song and video are beautiful, vulnerable and inspiring.
@@pjchurch1641 Yes! 💣💥💯💯
Another future classic! Everything he's been putting out since 2015 has been stellar
Great review! I feel pretty much the same way you did on this. Looking forward to the rest of the songs.

Amazing how video shows all era's of Manson
He looks amazing back in top form
💣💥💯⚡️
You saw how many times the symbol of the air element appears, while it came out of that membrane that now, its video clip is very deep and with many symbolic elements, like in the Tarot drinking a golden cup, in short, I love this new stage of the reverend.
I love the imagery as well! 💣💥⚡️
I'm loving the song. Awesome review

@@WickedWitchOfOz1 and I agree that I was hoping he’d get sober for a long time too and am so excited for his future!
Manson is at his best when he is trying to overcome adversity. To me the song is about him overcome alcoholism and being sober.
💣💥💯💯
Cool vocals but as usual, the actual music doesn't really go anywhere, just a vague backdrop. He needs a band with some punch.
Amazing song 🎵 it’s pretty awesome! 🖤
💣💥💯💯💯
His voice seemingly aged backwards. It’s beautiful. His new live performances you can hear how he’s singing a lot clearer. I’ve always thought he was great no matter what but I am very biased lol
Of course during THEOL & Born Villain I do think he was at his worst vocally but also addiction wise.
Marilyn Manson
EVAN RACHEL WOOD JUST WANTED MORE MONET FROM HIM, AFTER HW BROKEUP WITH HER.
Marilyn Manson es mi idolo❤
Big Coma Black vibes!
The King has returned. To me, this is one of the best songs he has ever released. I'm so glad he is sober because he has so much to offer and I feel his creativity has been obscured as of late.
If this album is Marilyn Manson's "With Teeth" we are here for a ride baby!
That is a great comparison and I love that record as well. If this is his With Teeth I’m here for it!
Is Tyler producing this? It is a very different kind of mix in my opinion. The guitars seem to be played by Tyler but the overall sound is closer to Shooter approach.
@@hype_joe yeah I thought that too but it’s all Tyler to my knowledge
From what I understand he’s working with Tyler Bates and he is a live musician for him and a producer on the side as a composer for films, games, action, and horror film genres.
As well Paul Wiley who is a composer for independent films, but still not sure if he helped on the album or if he’s just a live performer.
so nice to hear a similar-minded person. non of my frineds liked the song or just don't like MM at all.
Thank you 💣💥‼️ Yes I’m a “spooky kid” for life! Check out my other Manson reviews on this channel!
Manson is headlining a few shows. One of those shows is in Reno on Sept 1 and I am going!
HE FULLY ATE THIS COMEBACK. NOT A CRUMB IN SIGHT!!! Brian is baackkkkk. Also loving the skinny legend era too
For some reason, I get “Coma Black”-vibes from ASATSW. Emotional. Powerful. Provocative. Manson. 🤟😎🤟
Return in good shape with a great song.
First of manson looks healthy and maybe sober there , way way way skinnier then what we remember him from past MVs and shows and appearances ,and tbh the song reminded me a lot of holywood and post holywood era manson , good track honestly, the song is better then the entirety of we are chaos album
Wonderful song!!! Haunting and catchy as hell!!!! 10 out of 10!!!
He sounds amazing 🔥🔥🔥
he is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH Nothing can keep Manson down this can go on Antichrist come on man never heard manson do anything like this please
The song kinda gives the London After Midnight vibe, what do you think?
Don’t know them well enough but I’ve seen them live at Sick New World festival and could maybe see it
Great analysis, you never disappoint. I agree with you on the imagery, he pays homage to everything we know and love about his artistry, but nothing new. At least the video is cool and visual. The song is unique and Manson seems to be in a good place. This song puts out a Holy Wood vibe for me.

Thanks for mentioning layne 🙏🏼
Vocals are very clean, very well performed, recorded and produced.
Too bad I grew up with Psychodrunk-yelling Manson, so to me this just sounds boring.

bruuuuuh that video is GODLY !!!! like sheeeeeeyt mayne
after his disaster of a last album, i was wondering if he was done done. this song gives me hope for this album. this was really well done
His last album is better than the five before it... I'd argue it's as good as if not better than mechanical animals or holy wood......
I don't see that here
@@jamessullenriot Agreed 💣💥💯💯
I think 🤔 a sober Manson is a more dangerous Manson we have yet to see in his music! I really liked the song it if it can be repetitive in my mind then it’s good enough of a song!
Solid insights.
@@DeadWaterLies thank you! 💣💥💥
@@thegodbombs I bought a ticket to the Denver show because of this review.
thanks a lot for your review.
@@thegodbombs Damn that’s lit. 🔥
I know MM is a good friend, but I didn’t know Tim was cool with Kanye like that.
Heeee is back
Am i the only one who thought of london after midnight mix?
The beat and the sound reminds me of IAMX kinda gothic vibes.
Love this and he sounds younger. Like we have again the manson of the eat me, drink me era. Weird to say that but hope the new album is great. Manson has been a huge musician for me and this reminds me why i love his art.
You’re not alone! Another. Comment on this video said the same thing! 💣💥
Justin, do you know if he worked with Skold on this new album?
He did not it’s Tyler Bates. The Skold material was scrapped.
Man, your hair is on point bro!
Thank you! 💣💥
I was amazed by how good he looked and sounded. I thought it was just me but I am seeing I’m not alone.
@@HaveCommonSense76 Hell yeah 💣💥🤘🏼
@@thegodbombs you have a new stalker oh wait subscriber lol.
Sounded like a mature Mechanical Animals Manson. And this is a single for the new album. Which singles usually tend to be less in your face. I think this album is going to be heavier than anything we have heard in a while from him.
