- Day in the life of a plumber
We are back at the renovation today where I rip out the old boiler and get the hot and colds all first fixed downstairs, there were one or two surprising finds.
As always, thanks for all the support, it is greatly appreciated

You have made a good start Tom 👍👍.the worst bit to come sorting out the drains . 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John, drains are always the worst
Very nice Tom,getting a nice little pile of scraps there Tom 👍👍👍👍🛠️
It soon adds up, thanks for watching as always mate
Looking like I’ve got our of order with the video’s,👍👍👍👍
Tom is the absolute boy of plumbing
Thanks for the support as always Adam, it is greatly appreciated
The 24 dislikes ( really) tom must be one of the most honest guy's around his work is well thought threw neat &tidy alot better than some that I have seen.
Luckily the audience doesn't get to see all the dislikes now, I honestly don't mind to much but I do get trolled quite heavily, It's generally not to do with my work but more just aimed at me, I just hope to keep improving and try to put the best content out possible for the people who enjoy to watch, and I'm so grateful that the vast majority of people support me
@@PlumbLikeTom Fuck em mate, jealous that your work is better than theirs but you don't have an ego, your knowledge eclipses most of the guys in our trade and people hate that
Its just jealousy Tom. Love your videos I wish I had half your knowledge.
@@darrylclarke41 When I firsted started posting videos, dislikes used to really bother me, It's not that I don't care now but you learn to realise you will never please everyone, I do my best and that's all you can ever do, It always makes me laugh that youtube can detect 5 seconds of music in a video, but can't detect a message that is very hurtful to a content creator
What a bunch of tossers they must be.
I sincerely hope it’s that they pressed by mistake, as having fat fingers n small screen is the only excuse to do so!
Your doing great matey, even if you won’t come to Norfolk for us 🤣
Another great film, thank you Tom. The job is coming along nicely now, as you say remove what you don’t want and keep what you do want. I’m enjoying this series. As always Tom take care, 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, it's always nice when you start to get on top of a job, I much prefer second fixing, thanks for watching as always mate
Nice to watch a master plumber at work.
Thanks for the support as always mate, it is greatly appreciated 👍
Tom 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 stop waffling and get on with it 😂😂😂😍😍
My bad mate, Hopefully there was enough plumbing in there for you to enjoy, thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for the support as always Ian
Top work as always Tom
Thanks for watching as always Keith
Hi there Tom, I would love to no where you get double check valve's from for a couple of quid .
🤣🤣🤣 I loved how you went at the boiler with 10" pump pliers tom 😜
we both know that was never going to work, but you still have to try don't you 😁
top job bud 👍
I know mate, it's not wanting to go back to the van to get the right tool, thanks for the support as always Paul
@@PlumbLikeTom 😂🤷🏼♂️ we all do it Tom, then by the end of the day 3/4 of the vans on the floor beside you and you have to carry it all back f##king out again 🤦🏼♂️
Great content as per Tom, nice to have a blank canvas 👍🏻
Thanks for watching as always mate
Thanks Tom enjoyed as always hope you're well buddy 👍
Thanks for the support mate, I'm doing fine, just busy and stressed at times but that goes with the job, thanks for watching
Tom - another really great video about how you crack on but also plenty of tips for DIYers like me that have watched every one of your posts, apprentices, or even experienced plumbers/heating engineers alike - I keep saying it - but no idea why you're not in the 50K plus subscribers - sure it will be a exponential thing once the ball starts rolling - really appreciate the huge extra burden on your day to make this happen!
Thanks for such a kind comment mate, I'm really grateful to have reached 4k subs, I really enjoy making the videos and it's so nice to see and hear that people enjoy to watch, I don't know what the future holds but I will be making videos for as long as I'm working, sometimes it's the journey that's the enjoyable part, I will try to keep improving and try to put the best videos out I can, thanks for watching as always mate
Socket on a impact on the stopcock works well for me
Coming along nicely Tom, great to watch the progress on this one, hope alls well. 👍🚽
Thanks for the support as always Peter, we are getting there with this one, I'm looking forward to getting the boiler and cylinder fitted
Nice work Tom as always ....top man 👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Karl 👍
Doing a great job there Tom. I too struggle with bending 22 without the help of the floor to get me started lol.
22mm is tough to bend, I managed to snap a new rothenburger bender in half, my old record one I found on a car boot seems to lasting well though, thanks for watching as always mate
@@PlumbLikeTom I was one of the lucky ones that got one of the old yellow hilmors new just before they stopped making them.
Like the videos but can not hear at some points of the videos. External mic should help ?
I do need to improve the audio, I film on a gopro which is good for picture but not so good for sound, thanks for watching though
It’s a big job alright. Was wondering if they would not have been better losing the skirting on that wall where the boiler is going would have enabled a better set back for the pipe runs? Keep up the good work Tom, it’s a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for the support as always Norman, It might have been better with the skirting off, I think in the end it will look fine as it's mostly hidden by the boiler in the corner where that pipe is, thanks for watching mate
Loo,ing good fella.
Thanks for the support as always mate 👍
Brilliant detailed video as always Tom,
Keep up the good work Mate,
👍👍🤜
Thanks for the support as always Tony, it is greatly appreciated 👍
Great video Tom
Thanks for watching as always Tom
Top job Tom😎😎
Thanks for watching as always mate, it is greatly appreciated
I rekon the silicone is probably fernox lsx, never seen the point of it and its expensive aswell. I've always just used boss white / jet blue on my olives.
It could be Paul, I think they had lathered it around the inside of the fitting because the pipe was not cut square and had no insert, it would have been tough to get to with the boiler in position so they probably just bodged it, thanks for watching mate
Nice pipework m8
Thanks for the support as always mate
Another great video my brother well done keep smashing them out mate
Thanks for the support as always mate, it is greatly appreciated
@@PlumbLikeTom always will support you brother and MJ TIFF
Top video pal❤
Thanks for watching mate 👍
It's a proper job when it's done in copper . That mdpe main should have an insert , normally copper ones .
Thanks for the support as always mate, I've sorted the main now, I used an insert and a new philmac fitting, it should be good now
Great video as usual mate! I find parking the van wheel on gas valves, etc is enough to get some weight behind the spanner haha 😂
Thanks for the support as always mate, I will have to give that a go
Can you imagine if it was high temperature silicone..lol
When you look at the angle of the cut on the mpde mains how that never leaked 🤔
It probably had been leaking a little bit, thanks for watching mate
Take care of your back moving/lifting boilers. It's easily damaged and literally never the same after.
It's a tough job sometimes, I do occasionally suffer from back pains, luckily I've never had to have any time off with it but I do need to be careful, thanks for the support mate 👍
First comment 🎉
Thanks for the support Sam, it is greatly appreciated
👍👏
Thanks for the support as always Colin
Get a bit bigger adjustable wrench 😅 I have noticed people cracking their bones , while using a grips , sometimes could harm the hands if you do this daily , look after yourself brother. I use grips only if somewhere is limited access, never struggle in my life .
I do have a big bahco but I rarely use it, I probably should to be honest, thanks for watching as always mate
What do you use for sleeving through the wall?
For water pipes I normally use overflow pipe, anything is good as long as the copper doesn't touch the brick, thanks for watching mate
@@PlumbLikeTom Thank you, great content.
It was me asking about bending the 22mm copper. 🙈
It's all looking good, well thought out and nice and tidy.👍
I'm enjoying the series, don't worry about being repetitive it's nice to follow along on a whole project.
22mm is tough to bend, I know some people can but I've not got the strength, the jobs coming along nicely, I've had a few days away from there this week as it's half term and I've been busy in the schools, thanks for the support as always mate
Being as you’re a Lincolnshire lad, which college did you do your city & guilds at Tom?
I went to Lincoln college, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Me too. Steve Flatley?
I was there 91 to 94
@@matthewtrueblood408 I think he retired last year, I only did my gas reassesments after 5 years with Steve, he was a very knowledgeable guy
Yes, he’s semi-retired, think he does 1-2 days a week. Great guy
