Thank you so much for doing this, Ray. I usually hesitate to click on videos like this because 90% of them are quite sales-oriented or too salesy. Yours is very inspiring, and I can tell that you're authentic in your sharing.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. I'm starting to realize how important it is to share what we know and help people. I'm so glad you resonate with this. 🫶🏼
Great video. Would love to see you build a fullstack app with Cursor, Replit, Firebase and google authentication. Your approach of going step by step and explaining things is wonderful
I'm a UX Designer in Sydney, trying to build my own startup. I think with v0 its easy to make nice frontends now - I would love to see a video on scalable Auth, Database and Storage using templates!!
I love v0 and with the latest shadcn updates we are going to cook with auth and db stuff for the next stream. I'm planning to continue my livestream app to generate RUclips timestamps for videos and add authentication, stripe, etc.
Thanks for sharing this Ray. Which docs should I be sharing with Cursor if I'm building GPT wrappers with Nextjs? I saw that you have added a bunch in your Cursor. I presume that the ones with generative models and Next.js in their titles would be useful.
You can give it the Vercel AI SDK docs from here: sdk.vercel.ai/examples/next-app/chat/stream-chat-completion I would experiment and you can also make your own collection of what works and save them as .md files (example: my-ai-setup.md). You can reference them in your project by doing an @my-ai-setup.md or something like that.
I only use @codebase when I am not sure which files need to be modified. After doing that you won't need to use that as it'll have the correct files in the context going forward.
Some constructive advice, don't spend a bunch of time answering everybody's questions unless it's very relevant to the video. I'm 30 mins into the video and you haven't really started yet, due to the sidetracks.
I love that you shared this with me. It’s very helpful and I’m going to do this for my next stream. Perhaps I’ll have a dedicated Q&A section after my lesson. I’m also thinking of front loading the knowledge to the beginning. Then go on with more detail after for those who want to stick around and lounge.
