This was part of TrioGram's Mexico-CA-AZ Pre-Record Release Tour in February 2023. This was our last stop in Scottsdale, AZ at the Ravenscroft JazzBird Lounge featuring the great Lewis Nash on drums.
Changes is a waltz I wrote to depict the general changes of life. Written during the pandemic, I wrote this as a tribute to my mentor, Robert Estrin who dealt with a lot of changes in his life as a result of the pandemic and was prompted to move from Arizona to Ohio. Musically this is depicted by the several moving chord changes and key centers in the tune. The studio version can be heard on the upcoming TrioGram CD, which will be released on Apple Music, Spotify and all streaming platforms 4/7/23.

Thank you Bob! I remember writing “Changes” thinking about how the early days of the Pandemic affected you and how life can sometimes take such a drastic and unexpected turn - one second you had just moved to Arizona, the next thing you know you were moving to Ohio! But like they say everything happens for a reason, as you’re thriving more than ever now in the Waterloo Arts District and the best part - we’re closer to each other!!
