  • Hi,
    I had a lot of free time this week, so here's my longest video ever: lots of custom differentials (a differential is used in a car to split the power between the 2 wheels). As always, there are not only practical solutions (like 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8), but also lots of proof of concepts of modifications of differentials in real life.
    Enjoy watching,
    2in1

    If you're searching for a good custom differential to build, here's a small ranking:
    Good: 2, 4a, 5a, 8a, 8b, 9
    Okay: 1, 5b
    More Proof of Concept than useful: 3, 4b, 6, 7, 10

    physics is weird... I still can't wrap my head around how being able to travel in opposite directions makes a "rigid" turning system.

    I made a similar torsen differential a few years ago using a larger turntable, but I couldn't test it because I did not have any wheels large enough. Yours looks more versatile and stronger. Nice job!

    nice video as always! i see you where inspired by @antonigual 's gearless diff. it is a very unique design, i hope we see more gearless diffs in the future :)
    regardless i am looking forward to your future uploads!

    I have a question for you, I have a robot that has an engine below it, in the space between the 2 main engines (that move the robot itself), I use this engine to move a gripper that is like the ones used to grab trees. The problem is that it hardly manages to lift objects because to move the power to the top of the gripper a lot of energy is dissipated due to gears in sequence.
    How can I improve the lifting capacity of the system?

    • @in1
      @in1  Год назад +1

      Maybe using universal joints instead of gears could help, or you could use a linear actuator in your gripper

    • @fededig
      @fededig Год назад

      @2in1 Bricking I have another problem 😅, the gripper is on top of the robot (12cm high) and is in the front of it, the problem is that I have a ultrasonic sensor between the rotary axis in the base and the gripper on top, so I am forced to put a sequence of gear (horizontal-vertical-horizontal). I tried to improve the lifting capacity by introducing a gear ratio but it isn't enough (I have to grab and lift 200g)

    Where can I get all of this Lego technic stuff I’ve been wanting to do stuff like this but you can’t just find a bulk of random lego tecnic parts or specific parts or hell a parts catalog so I know what I want to get

    • @CuppaLiber-tea
      @CuppaLiber-tea 10 месяцев назад

      Did you ever get into technic? There’s plenty of catalogs such as Lego’s pick a brick or bricklink which is usually cheaper parts wise. I suggest getting a set at a reasonable price for yourself and from there buy whatever parts you would need.
