Great recipe! I showed it to my mom and she said it’s the authentic recipe. She also said that in order to enhance the flavor, add half a teaspoon of ghee after you add the flour.
Looks nice and healthy. This is almost identical to a recipe I got from a native Moroccan a while back. The only addition was he mixed in a raw egg at the end (tempered addition so it didn't form discrete lumps) which thickens up the soup a little and makes it more unctuous. Apparently, traditionally it's often used to break the fast of Ramadan each day. In that respect it's quite a clever choice of ingredients since it has a little bit of everything and fills you up quickly.
I've only had/prepared Harira vegan/vegetarian. I do have about 12 ounces of lamb cubes in the freezer so will try it with the meat. Harira is so flavorful and filling...a staple in my house. Thanks for the recipe
it is amazing to see one of our famous moroccan dishes presenting by well known channels youtubers; that's an honorable thing ; but as a moroccan cook if you allow me to post my remarks I can say that garlic cinnamon cumin are not among the real harira's ingredient . Anyway you did a great job ; greetings from marrakech
Lovely! I am so happy to see you experimenting with foods from different cultures but yet, so similar to the Balkan/Greek style. I will definitely try this one!
Hi IM folowing you since 2 years ago i like This deversity on yr plats. IM morrocan and i would like to tell you that we dont put either garlic neither cumuin it tajine not harira and we just put little bit of lamb not a lot of as you did just to have the flavor
Delicious and very affordable! I made a huge batch with just 300g of beef, and it turned out so great. Dimitra, your recipes are always so fool-proof, I love it. Also, flavor-wise it reminded me of the georgian kharcho soup, if someone's looking for a similar but not identical dish to this one. Thanks!
Hi Dimitra, love all your recipes, love your harira, though never eaten that way, traditionally it has more liquid. The ratio liquid/meat and veggies is off. We eat harira during ramadan but also whenever we crave for it, especially during winter. Having said that I will try it your way with some nice crunchy bread like eating a stew or something. So allways a 👍 for you!
While adding the lentils, you mentioned "fresh chickpeas" did you mean to say dried and rehydrated chickpeas? I've never seen fresh chickpeas in stores.
By all means eat the korianderstalks!! Chop them up and throw 'm in, I do not understand why so many people throw them in the bin. Other than that...lovely soup!

Finally, a cooking channel that doesn't add music through the whole video. I just subbed!

It’s pretty easy to find a conversion chart.
funny that, ive never ever seen meat in a harira???
Never put garlic in harira that’s not maroccan sorry
Looks good and probably tastes good but this is not authentic Moroccan harira. It’s a Moroccan inspired soup.

Harira is algerian not moroccan.
hahaha in your dreams hahahah, this is 1000000% moroccan soup, since when you put lentils in your soup
Poor Lamb, feel sorry for lamb.
🐑 I'm with you. I'm 67 and have never had any desire to eat lamb.
@@jodybogdanovich4333 How can you hurt such lovable creature. I do not understand.
You don't need to use lamb, use mutton, fyi.
Harira isn't specifically moroccan!
It is it's historical recipe stop acting like Turkish people when they see any greek cooking their heritage cuisine 🤢🤢
Yes it is, since when you put lentils in your soup, its 10000000000000000% moroccan
