@@TonyAlbus I Hope so, i only use it to measure low frequenzy and sometimes CAN-BUS Signals, this is why i need something with 2 chanels.

As you know I’m looking to get a proper hand held scope for work. As a reefer mechanic. Tired of the limitations of my Snap On.

Love it so much for something inexpensive. Got it mainly to be isolated off main's Ground/Earth. I changed the 18650 cells to high capacity 2800mAh. So awesome. Really appreciate your review. ❤️

I have an Owon DMM BT model...use it also as a data logger for voltage and current draw. This Oscope is very neat and seems to be much better than the original handheld models of this type by other manufacturers. On thing that viewers might keep in mind, not all inexpensive multi-channel scopes will operate in X & Y mode but this one says it does. IF you have appropriate RF samplers (I built a couple and bought a couple; both work fine), the ham operator can examine his/her voice envelope shape to ensure that it's what you think it is. Owon looks similar to my Hantek. Very nice bit of kit. I like it.

@@TonyAlbus that was also my first reaction: this must be a hantek knockoff. Love my hantek so no need for this one.
Yes very similar but not quite the same as a close look reveals at least a
few differences that would make this a bit of an upgrade to the Hantek.
1) The 10 amp current probe inputs are labeled on the front panel as being
fused for this model but on the Hantek are labeled as unfused.
2) This one is advertised as True RMS AC voltage measurement whereas
the Hantek does not claim to be True RMS.
Also while the front panel buttons & layout are quite similar for both they are
not identical.

Hantek 2D42 when I came across the similar OWEN. Noticing some of the slight improved
specs mentioned I thought well that looks fine on paper but does it really perform so I searched
for reviews & came across yours which sealed the deal for me. I purchased the HDS242S last night. One of the things that impressed me was your showing the stability of the wave
displayed on the OWEN as that's one thing that bothered me about many other models in this
product category & price range as many of the review demos out there show the wave display
as very noisy, jittery & unstable like the comparison model in your demo here. Thanks!

Is this display bigger than hantek?
i think it is the same. the design in DMM mode is just different with the bars in top end bottom by hantek… the owon looks bigger becouse they don’t have thebars and have space for bigger digits.
, Generally speaking, which device is better? Hantek 2d72 or OWON hds272s?
@@AquinoSamuel i only have the Owon here, but they look technicaly the same, the diference is prob. in the software.. and the Owon claims TRMS, the Hantek not. And the Owon has bigger digits in DMM mode.. but that is personal.

You can pick the USB mode in the menu. If you select mass storage device, then you can save images and data on the scope and simply transfer them as files to any computer. The scope shows up as a flash drive basically in this mode. I found that to be very useful.

Ook zou ik wel eens willen weten of de bandbreedte gehaald wordt.
Tenslotte: The Boots laat een vreemde vervorming zien bij vooral een zaagtand. Die komt overeen met een gekke vorm van het eerste deel van een blokgolf na een flank, ook bij The Boots. Heel iets anders dan de gebruikelijke vervormingen i.v.m. stijgtijd en bandbreedte.
Dank je! . Mijn testen waren echt een Hands-On beetje spelen en wat snelle testen, daar laat ik het ook bij, voor zijn prijs doet hij het prima. wat een verschil met die FNIRSI, als ik opnieuw zou kiezen, zou ik voor deze Owon gaan.

Is it possible to capture waveforms on the oscilloscope and transfer them over to the PC in jpg or .csv format for further inspection/analysis?
Yes i think you can... but its an older video, and i am not sure anymore.... but exporting JPG/BPM is not a problem

Is it possible to use both the wave generator and the oscilloscope at the same time?
Say I wanted to use the wave gen to output a 10kHz sine wave into my circuit and measure the output wave of my circuit on the oscilloscope. Will I be able to do this on this handheld scope?
Yes i think it does, did i not mention that in the video? i don't remember as it was a while ago.
For the signal generator, it only has adjustments for Frequency, Amplitude (Volts). Is there no Amps adjustment? Do signals output current or just voltage variation?
Nope, like most signal generators, it is just that. it is not an AC current source.
Hi Tony! I am in need of an oscilloscope, I am wondering between this owon hds272s and the fnirsi-1014d because these two are in the 170usd price range. My needs are not too many and very specialized. Which one do you think I should use?
Easy, Owon would be my choice, i have had a FNIRSI here, i will never buy again.the 110 MHz can hardly do 25

OWON HDS2102S vs Tektronix THS720A
Which of these two devices would make sense to buy?
Hi Salih, i dont have the THS720A .. but Tektronix is a professional brand. Owon more hobby like brand
It's almost like the Owon HDS272S is making their Sine wave thicker to compensate for moving around (which I suspect it might actually be doing), compared to the Hantek 2D72's Sine wave moving around at that same frequency (while staying thin, mind you). I can't see any reason why the Owon would suddenly make their waveform do this when it is thinner for other measurements?
The Owon HDS272S certainly seems to be better than the Hantek (I have the 2D42) and a bit more accurate, and I wish the Owon would show the Probe Connections to use like the Hantek does. That's the deal-breaker for me, unfortunately... I can't trust someone to borrow mine and unknowingly putting the Probes into the wrong sockets and - Boom!

Do you have any comments about Sigpeak oscilloscope?
I have never tried one.. but having seen that FNRSI i will not buy one again in that price range, i would aim a bit higher and get better one, like the Owon, , but if you are willing to send me one for free, i am happy to test is for you.
I bought a HDS242s for use with my curve tracer only.
I test the multimeter funtion last night, works really well.
This meter works very well to me.

Yes i think it will, casing seems strong, and some others in the comments mentioned excacly that theybought for that purpose
@@TonyAlbus If I understand the specs it is rated for 400V so should be ok to handle any induction spikes when testing ignition coils etc. of course NOT the spark plug voltages

Volgens de handleiding 400Volt op de scope en 750 AC /1000 DC op de multimeter.
Je kan altijd een bericht sturen aan Eleshop en vertellen wat je er precies mee wil doen en dan vragen of dat met deze scope/DMM kan.

@@TonyAlbus, yes, it has rms for multimeter. But it doesn't show rms value in the measure option for oscilloscope. Moreover, my hds242 has a voltage drift in the oscilloscope during warm up (measure -> mean option). My firmware version is 4.1.0, hardware - I don't know and I can't open the case because of warranty seal from the local seller. I must callibrate hds242 during cold start, then after about 30 min of work. Do your hds272s is free of this issue?

@@user-zz5hv8xc3z i Think for basic audio the 40MHz should be good , just remember the sapling is 250 MSa/s and 125 when using both channels and 10mV is the lowest v/div.. if you meseure above 10mV-20mV you are good. Depends also on how many samples you want and what voltage... but for basic audio it should be okey

Since you are a clueless electronics collector , let me fill you in the discrepancy on the measuring of 0,001 is due to the leads . Not that it matters , even if it was 1V of the target or 10% it wouldnt change anything for any one of you electronics collectors since you dont need it anyways . Owon sent it to you to sell it ,sellers dont need DMMs so thee goes that
