@@Kovna sorry, but he should have retired as a champion and not an old librarian. He had his time in the sun but let's be realistic. He should have been devoting his time to composing and ensuring his legacy by putting his music into notation so the world can hear his music, but alas, Ian has become a snob like the folks he would rise up against when he wore a younger mans clothes

This is my all time favourite. The lyrics are soooo profound. This is where my life began..... when I was 12 years old. I'm 58 now and still blast it out regularly 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😘 loving the orchestral works xx

This is one of my favorite pieces of music. The songs subject matter is as tremendous as the piece of music.

From what I read here, this was recorded a few days before I saw Ian Anderson and the orchestra in Amsterdam. Beautiful version. Ian Anderson is always mentioned for the flute playing but I think he's a very decent guitar player. I remember reading an interview of Ritchie Blackmore (who has always admired Ian) in the early 80's where he said Ian was a good guitar player...
Ian is actually a terrible flautist. His style is very maverick and apostatic
not sure i love the gigantic sound here, but still love this guy. been in a class by himself since day one.

Simply the best . Unique.
The best concert I ever saw was Jethro Tull and Clouds in Austin, TX in 1970. The highlight of the night was when Ian said he was gonna play a yet to be released song-My God!...which blew us all away! The entire flute solo performance extraordinaire was missing from this recent performance but it's fantastic to see it's still in Ian's repertoire. Thank you Ian for being such an inspiration all these years.

This is one of the best live performance. Of My God Live. Of all the other ones on U tube. If you believe in the Spirit world. He has nailed it. God is in the back of your Head most medicine men will agree. I was stationed in 1970-73 at HQ and HQ US Europe in Heidelberg Germany after a year in Vietnam 68-69. When this song came out. Ian Anderson. Is great on flute.

Wow, Ian is in great voice here! Considered that this was in 2004, a full 20 years after his vocal decline began, this is amazingly well sung. He must have hit a really good day.
