I think it is different when it's an indie dev studio as opposed to a triple A studio. I think at the end of the day, EA Is more greedy. But this decision was stupid and out of desperation. Greedy because his studio probably needs money to survive, so he made an awful decision. Still would say EA is overall more greedy, because it is a massive corporation.

So lemme get this straight. Game comes out and is well received, they then make bad changes to the game and kill off the player base which results in the death of the game. They shit out a horrible sequel that is inferior in every way to every other BR game out there and the game is DOA. They then decide to re-release the original game for free and with lootboxes but without fixing the problems they created in the first place causing the game to retain very few players. Now they're maybe fixing up the problems the game has but charging not only a purchase fee but a subscription fee as well, with maybe some microtransactions sprinkled on for good measure.....

Yeah, lots of peeps say "everyone" rather than simply a lot, I have never played a Battle Royale game, F2P anything, I dislike Bethesda (and I mean Elder Scrolls and Fallout) and Rockstar, avoid most EA and Activision games. Never bought a CoD game (got two free on PS+ played single player only, was ok), or a GTA game (one free on EGS, not sure if I will play it since I don't like R* and don't think GTA looks fun), I think WoW sucks compared to EQ. And just to clarify, I am not a AAA hater and indie lover, much closer to the opposite really.

The 1st Culling game was fun. Battle royale that focus more on melee but then without any warning they release the Culling 2 with was an extremely shitty version of PUBG.

A lot of youtubers covered it. It was unique at the time and in some mechanics was ahead of most. Then canned it. Then announced 2 and Joe just gave you a rundown of that.

@Mohammed no, i think he mean the mann vs machine ticket, but that ticket is for reward. you can still play mvm without ticket you wont receive any reward but even if you did, its just cosmetic

We can run our own servers, like we did for decades until EA started the trend of ripping them out and monetizing access/giving games an expiration date.
@Mohammed It's not wrong for people to charge for mods, but it is wrong for a game company to charge for them. All money should go *directly* to the person who modded it if they did wanna charge for said mod, it's total bs when companies like steam and bethesda try and be a middle man.

It's because consumers for some reason think companies are their friends, or use the logic of "let people enjoy things". Sure, you can enjoy it, but no matter how much you enjoy it, you're getting fucked with bad business practices regardless.
Then people wonder why publishers get greedy or show off gameplay trailers with no gameplay, and it's cause they know there will be people that will defend them to no end despite getting nothing in return.

This story is a tragedy, a game that was consider good is buried deeper and deeper by bad choices.
It is tragic but quite common in the industry. So many game sequels are delivered with a reduction or removal of the features that made it special and a heap load of new garbage that ruins it. They either don’t truly understand what made it good or their ego tells them they can make the “magic” formula better. This almost always leads to a rating lower than the original.
This reminds me of the Initial D arcade where while you're racing against an AI, a human opponent may choose to challenge you.
If you win, you can race again with the AI. However, the human opponent can keep challenging you non stop but so long as you keep winning, you can practically play for free for almost an infinite amount of rounds until you lose or your opponent gives up on challenging you.
