Love this video Sophie! My boyfriend and I are visiting Oahu next week. Is it true that parking at Sunset Beach is risky due to many car break-ins? Thanks! We'd really love to visit on our one day trip to North Shore.
Hi Jessica! Aw, really happy you loved the video! It was really important for me to get right because it's my home town. :) Yeah, it is true that the North Shore is known for car break-ins but it's not like a bad neighborhood or anything like that. Just there are a lot of tourist traveling around the island and leave valuables in the cars so thieves are aware of this. Just take what you need on the road and bring it with you on the beach. For example, I wouldn't leave my phone or camera in the car. If you have a super expensive camera, I wouldn't both go swimming or if you both do, I wouldn't go for very long and keep my eye on my stuff. Just basically be smart about your things. Hawaii is definitely a safe place but better not to leave your valuables laying around. ;)
Hi Anthony, there is surf in North Shore but not at Ala Moana Beach Park or Lanikai. I'm not too sure about fishing. Would recommend to speak to a company who offers fishing tours to see where you're allowed to fish. Mahalo for watching!

Hi Kathleen, 6 days on Oahu is a good amount of time. I would actually split up your time and stay between Waikiki and North Shore or Kailua. There is plenty to do and see in Waikiki and in surrounding neighborhoods (Kaimuiki, Kaka'ako, and Downtown - all have great restaurants).
