      British women have this unusual, unique trait of mashing their words, first behind their lips, rolling them over their lips, and then projecting them pregnantly with the middle of their tongue out at you in the most sensual massaging way, the teeth rarely seen but ever present, giving birth to their innermost thoughts without so much as a hint of the dark abyss from which they emanate. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was self-massage, and I do know better. Can I get an Amen, men?

      "So there will be what you call bluffing" ... "you've heard the term" ...(Wow this girl knows poker has bluffing she must be really smart) "You never play your hand you play the man across from you" (Oh this man knows poker who even cares about your cards) ... This is writing is pretty average at best it just appears to be "good" because 1. it's a cool conversation that would be almost impossible to have in real life ... Two people reading each other 100%... and 2. It's Bond... not really known for the writing. That being said they do have much better chemistry than other Bond/Bond Girls.... Spectre those two had the chemistry of my divorced parents

    • @VastyVastyVoid
      @VastyVastyVoid 5 лет назад +31

      @@braamdepace No. That was sarcasm on Bond's part, following Vesper mocking his bravado. This is the subtext, or part of it:
      Vesper: "So. You're going to throw away our fucking money because you pretend you have everything under control. It's called 'gambling' for a reason."
      Bond: "Nah, I'll just win. I'm so good I can win with any hand."
      Vesper: "I doubt it. Your bluff just now? It was pathetic."
      Bond: "So you're saying you're better than me? Get real, love. Poker's just a matter of reading people, and I can read anyone."
      Vesper: "Oh? We're placing millions on your skills at reading people? Please."
      Bond: "Don't approve of the plan?"
      Vesper: "Anyone can claim to be a mind reader. Do your worst."
      Bond: "Sure. Here's proof. I'm gonna list everything you don't want others to know. You're a woman and you're cute, smart, and dedicated. It won't matter though: nobody will ever see you as an equal, but you try to offset that by abandoning your feminine qualities, because I really think you're sexy. It's not that you're arrogant, oh no: you're an insecure, dime-a-dozen careerist, and also an orphan."
      Vesper: "You really want to play? Let's play. I see a resentful little working class boy dressed up in a grown man's clothes and trying to prove he's better than the other prep school boys who mocked him. Your insight into me being an orphan is because you have no parents yourself, that's painful to you and that's why you lash out when you see it in others. And you're still sore about being bullied by your class mates, basically you're still trying to get back at tehm. Is that right? Oh this is fun! Naturally, that's why you're here: a damaged kid eager to sacrifice himself for any abstract cause because he's unable to form human connections, trying to be charming to me because you want sex as a way of distracting yourself from what is a fundamentally empty life. Not interested, by the way, even though you're cute. How did I do?"
      Bond: "Fuck me, I'm bleeding."

The verbal "judo", as one replied, was a great desciption of how and why 007 falls in love for the first time and is willing to resign his his position for Vesper. The two were made for each other at that moment, neither of them knew it then. Bond's little smile and head nod at the end was priceless. Like ," What the hell was that?" I hope his last Bond flick coming in April of 2020 is as good as Craig's first "Bond".

    If anyone wants to know, what Bond and Vesper are doing by guessing each others origins and occupations is called "profiling". By using an algorithm of questions and observations, one can deduce details about someone with some accuracy. Clairvoyants use a primitive version of this to give customers the illusion they can channel spirits.

    • @mastermill79
      @mastermill79 5 лет назад +1

      Which is called "cold reading" when those quacks do it. There was a whole Southpark episode about it.

    • @liketanyanot
      @liketanyanot 5 лет назад +4

      I found your assesment of the scene to be entertaining, but your assessment of clairvoyants to be not. I do not do "cold readings" or ask leading questions. In fact, I ask clients to NOT tell me anything beforehand. And no, I do not look at their social media. Telepathy and clairvoyance have been proven to be true, I don't scam vulnerable people and have worked with law enforcement for several years - for FREE on missing persons cases and cold case homicides. I found a dead body that the cops had walked right by weeks before with search and rescue teams and with just my abilities and a pen and a piece of paper I found the guy. Independently there were three other clairvoyants whom I did not speak to and we were deliberately kept from talking to each other about and they also found the body that the cops and rescue teams could not. Again, using only remote viewing/clairvoyance. This nonsense has got to stop- some people have real abilities just as there are quacks in every field. There are bad doctors, when they do something wrong it's called malpractice, there's an entire branch of law devoted to it. The same with the existence of internal affairs in law enforcement. There are bad cops just as there are good ones. Bad practices and corruption are in every field. Don't paint every psychic with the same brush, it's unbecoming. And by the way, your mommy loves you but your father is frustrated with the way you run things. Your life is a "jam", I don't know what that means, and no I can't be bothered to look at your profile. You've been running things since you were 16 and you're clearly not open to psychic ability, even if it smacked you on your flabby ass. And yes, it's not my mere imagination that knows you're pudgy and out of shape. Good day.

    Now that I am much older, this kind of dialogue is just not realistic, and that is why I adore it so, so much. The same kind of feeling I get from an impressionist painting I get here. It distills aspects of reality that the artist does not deem worthy, but you are left typically with a great feeling. I can't tell you how many damn books I've read on social engineering and the whole works. This scene is very much art, and as a young man I had a difficult time distinguishing a scene like this from real life, and it would cripple my self-esteem. Women have their billboards with skinny models, mine was dudes that delivered lines with exceptional timing like bond. Ha, but in retrospect perhaps it acted as a silver lining because this would cause me to go on a life quest to be like a James Bond/badass motherfucker. In actuality Craig may have had to do this scene countless times to get the delivery dead on. Or maybe the train sort of wobbles ever so slightly from the wind or whatever and he spills the wine. Maybe he is hungry and his stomach growls. Maybe there's a baby wailing and her mother of 3 is trying to calm the child down so the other children don't wail. Maybe as you are talking and giving a psychoanalysis on your to-be lover, the waiter comes over and asks if you would like french bread breaking your train of thought. Life isn't about having exceptional one liners, eventually it just comes across as corny and one dimensional. It's not so much the lines he is saying that matters, but the fact he is present in reality and engaging and trying to add value, otherwise why say the witty line right? Also, you have a remarkable screenwriter who has probably studied for decades on his craft, coming up with the things for Daniel Craig to say. And you have a female actress who is pretending to be interested. I have been in the military for 2 years and have been doing boxing for 5 and do Krav Maga. I also lift weights heavily and am very good physical shape. James Bond was definitely a role model for me growing up, but sooner or later the bird must leave from the nest and flap its own wings. Fun fact, James Bond was named after a bird.

      Nero Caesar- In real life some jealous prick would join the conversation and cock-block. I just checked and Ian Fleming did not write this dialogue. They did not even meet on a train in the 1953 book. Fleming`s dialogue is lame compare to this movie.

    Only Bond girl who conquored Bond, instead of being conquored.
    Actually, this movie is probably the best Bond movie that ever came.
    And Craig although a blond, around 5' 10ish, aggressive looking man, portrayed Bond that's more like to the one that's described in books.
    See, James Bond is a man of pleasure, a man of exquisite tastes etc.
    But what he is a cold hearted killer. Not some sort of a super hero, or everly cheesy spy like say, Brosnan or Moore, and I dare to say sometimes Connery all was.
    Only Craig movie that tried to be like the classic Bond movies was Spectre. And it caused it to be quite a weak oke after the reboot that came with Casino Royale.
    It had some of the best phtography and cinematography that I've ever saw, I'll not deny
