Thanks for reviewing my cannon. Just a quick point it fires at 150 rounds per minute in Full Auto, it only has 80 rounds of onboard ammo.

Well, if you want to you can spend 15 bucks on game+dlc, but i want to warn you that: 1. it's quite hard to make beautiful and especially working stuff, and 2. it's quite the best thing you can do in the game, beautiful thing with some real complicated logics

make a tutorial for a gun where you enter coordinates and it aims where the coordinates are
You can use a GPS heading controller for the horizontal, the vertical is not much more work

AI ships just explode after taking a set amount of damage but player ships take water if hit hard enough etc

Nowhere, but we can theorize based on barrel diameter and fire rate
Man i really need to figure out the velocity of the shells and i can make a functional fire computer. All the other data could be taken from a radar
I’m sure you could measure it in-game by firing them along a wall with markers at a set distance, and then using a recording to figure out how fast it’s going.
@@coenogo yes i am considering a test using a 50m distance between a wall and the muzzle but even filming at the 60fps my software supports i will only get it within a few tens of m/s which is not accurate enough
@@LordOceanus I know that adding more barrel segments increases accuracy, but does the game also model the increase/decrease in subsequent muzzel velocity? If so, that would be another issue.
Yeah try turning it or moving it more than 5 degrees in either direction. The moving parts inside collide with the turret and make it break and flip out
May I suggest you try again with the latest update to the gun, I just had a check to see if this was an issue and could not replicate it, through full 90 degree turns in either direction, both at maximum and minimum elevations and moving between them.

I'm working on a ghetto ballistic computer based on simple college level trig formulas. However, I don't know how to measure wind resistance/drag and only guessed the projectile speeds firing at a known distant object while mashing my phone's stopwatch haha. So it will be error prone.
Another method would be to measure how far a certain elevation shoots and repeat that like the real military tests, firing a few hundred or thousand rounds and make a lookup table lol

The S&D DLC need some work tbh. I feel like the ammo drums should hold more, you should be able to change the bore diameter of the barrels between sey values. Like the light auto cannon barrel could be between 20-30mm, heavy auto cannon could be between 40 and 50+mm. Battle cannon should be between 75 and 120mm, etc etc. This would 100% create problems in game, because it would change dimensions of the blocks themselsves, but still, it would be nice.

Depends on how you define the guns, as ingame they dont actually have set sizes, I as the author of this particular gun have went on the following basis for my own guns;
Machine Gun - 5.56mm to 12.7mm
Light Autocannon - 20mm to 35mm
Rotary Autocannon - 20mm to 30mm
Heavy Autocannon - 40mm to 76mm
Battle Cannon - 90mm to 155mm
Artillery Cannon - 203mm to 254mm
So really, how I classify within those limits is based upon the intended role of the gun and the turret mount itself.
How do you fix "Weapons Disabled"?
