I love when Parker does BTS because he actually explains the camera settings and all that stuff. It would be great if Devin could do that too from time to time.
Have you guys thought about doing a behind the scenes of the editing/color grading process? You've mentioned that you do most of your editing while traveling, and I'd love to see where you are while editing, and/or what your workflow is like. Sounds like you're dealing with a TB or so per project which is a ton of footage to sort through, compile and render. As always, love what you guys are putting out. Thanks for being inspiring!
You guys are awesome! I really liked how you talked a lot about cinematography and drone piloting. I enjoy everything about video and film making. Thanks for the inspiration!
Parker, when you were filming on the Red in 6K with 24fps what is the advantage of shooting at 1/500 shutter speed. Why not 1/50? I'm sure this rule does not always apply but I'm very curious. Also why aperture 10 and not 22 then just lower the shutter speed to get the same brightness? I REALLY want to know! :D Do you usually use a higher shutter speed when there is a lot of fast moving (motion) involved? Hope you will answer this question, cheers guys! :D Love the nature videos, great BTS!! :D
5:09 This wonderful place is where our car broke down and we were stuck for two hours, just because I wanted to wander up and touch the snow up the back there, and we left our headlights on :') I was here just a few days after these guys were, man I love my country... Also, careful, that kea would've eaten your soul if you let it any closer ;3
Parker said they shot at 24fps and 1/500 a second. So if you do slow mo on that footage in post it would still be smooth because of the high shutter speed?
wow, they drove 9 hours and 9 hours to go back, so 18 hours of driving just to drop off some batteries! and for free! Alsoy I can't believe ou cannottake batteries on an aircraft! WTF! the plane has a battery every cell phone has a battery which I presume all passengers have, what's wrong with a few extra loose batteries?
+How To Make Sushi You can have batteries on planes, but usually the battery with more energy than 100wh are not allowed for safety reasons (fire). The batteries in your cell phone are way smaller than 100wh. Drones needs huge batteries, one of these failing will catch fire and make a 1 meter high flame.
+How To Make Sushi Some years ago a 747F crashed after wrongly-packed batteries caught fire. Since, most airlines have banned "excessive batteries" from being taken aboard, especially aboard passenger planes. Last year I was on a plane-trip, and had to argue about 2 spare batteries for a Canon DSLR
Devin if I may ask but what exactly do you use to charge your camera gear in the middle of nowhere? I have been trying to find out how to charge my Phantom 3 in a mountain range in Dominican Republic. :)
Just saying, your floations safeties are looking funny, but it won't even get you a single extra second before the octocopter drowns, you need 1 liter to float 1 kilogram :) Half a liter on such a heavy copter won't do much ;)
Jack Craig You know what, I believe you are right! I was still wondering how many minutes that would equal to use up 500 gigs. Just out of curiosity? Thanks for the correction!
+Christian Adventure Films My DSLR Shoots 6k raw stills and those are about 22mb. so 500.000mb (500gb) / 24mb makes 22.727 frames. Since we need 24 frames for one second, we finally have 947 seconds, or 15 Minutes of footage.
***** Thanks for the info! Wow! 500 gigs for 15 mins.! That is a lot of space, but I guess that is why they have such amazing footage as well! Thanks again for answering my question!
+Maksim Mayster The Egyptian Government doesn't allow anyone to visit the Pyramids anymore. Too many people kept ruining them. The main problem was the Pyramids were mined for industrial purposes. If they remained untouched from the day they were built, to our modern day, there would only be a couple of scratches and be a little dusty.
+SkintSNIPER262 I was actually just there and shot tons of footage on and around them, the Sphinx, the Red Pyramid, etc. with no problem whatsoever. And there was plenty of police in the area that would have stopped me if there was an issue. :) Hopefully I'll be posting the video soon on my other channel +BronzeBowMedia.
Reagan Schrock Yeah I don't exactly know the entire story lol. I remember reading something about not being allowed to go some where and it involved something about the Pyramids.
Hot tip from a kiwi - receiving rolled up money (especially on camera) is awkward, put that in an envelope next time with a little thank you card or something. Were too modest to take money like that from people we just met. Christchurch to Milford is a loooong drive on new zealand roads
Those ladies have restored my faith in humanity
That is 9 hour drive omg . That is a long way back Omg . This is trully a person that has a really big heart.
+G4merIr0nicTV and decent wallet
+Tadas What do you mean?
Ashton W-D that is expensive
It wasn't that much!
+G4merIr0nicTV Very respectable indeed. I wish this was more normal.
thumbs up to the 2 ladies that brought the battery!!!
I love when Parker does BTS because he actually explains the camera settings and all that stuff. It would be great if Devin could do that too from time to time.
I was watching some of Louis older vlogs and saw this trip but I couldn't find your video. Now it's out. This happened in February!
+Nicolas Unger it is high production. From pre-production, to the actual filming, to post-production.
I miss the vlogs. The behind the scenes are still awesome, I just liked the extra awesome of the vlogs.
Here in New Zealand is really good with people helping others. I live in Christchurch and Milford is way way down South. Those ladies are awesome
Finally a video with Parker in it. I really started to miss that guy. 😃
I love watching all the behind the scenes!
It's been so long since a video from New Zealand!

5:11 That is incredible a Kea just drops by to chill
Not so cool when it starts beating up and eating your car 😭
this is the first time I've seen Parker walbeck in a long time. good to have you back! although i guess you never really left. ;)
I'm not gonna lie, I missed Parker.
He just got married!
+Jordantz72 I know (again, huge congrats to him) I was just saying that I missed seeing him in the bts videos :)
+Jack Leigh All this was shot at the start of the year with all the other videos in New Zealand they only just released it now.
+Zane AL yeah I know. They're still releasing all of the 13 videos they shot.. and so far they've all been awesome :)
I was waiting for more of the New Zealand videos to come out. Epic shots!
Awesome video and I am glad you guys made it to NZ! Everyday I get to enjoy this.
+Parker Walbeck Back in action!! We missed you man. Happy B-Day!!

Thx so much Devin! :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARKER
Awesome BTS and one of my favourite videos from you guys :)
Hey you know what should be your next adventure (it's a hard one) Mount Everest. Such a beautiful thing. It would be very hard.

WOW You Really Love My Home Country :) Wahoo!!!
Parker said they shot at 24fps and 1/500 a second. So if you do slow mo on that footage in post it would still be smooth because of the high shutter speed?
Oh my god, the memories!! Devin, you need to come back to New Zealand, and this time stay in Christchurch!!!!!
And us New Zealanders just see that scenery and be like 'ah that's just the norm I see that every day'.
Every time they say awesome scenery I am just like that looks like the view from my school
Nice :)

Proud to be kiwi. Great job showing our beautiful country! Come visit us again, there's a lot more to see. ^_^
Hey team super tramp, I have a question. Can you explain in the next video about how you guys record the sound. Bird flying wind, water etc....
I was there when you were filming :)
Shooting 24p with a 1/500sec shutter? Any particular reason why you're not shooting 180degree shutter?
Devin, algo que sería bueno añadir en tus BTS es que pongas la fechas en la que grabas tus vídeos, sería buen dato :)
Can you please tell me how you get the slow motion sound effect.
Devin, I named my computer after you! You're my role-model!
You should go to Bali, Okinawa, Japan, and alaska....
What was the red camera held during the heli tours, just wondering since it's not the usual glide can
can you make a enduro/sumpermoto video?
That would be fun wouldnt it ;-)
The aerial footy didn't blow my mind, tbh. Great locations though.
Parker: Go ahead and tell everyone where they can find heli tours.
Pilot proceeds to explain exactly where the business physically is at. hahaha
wait when the proppeler dint work was that the red hanging under it?
big hearts ladies!! that's how most kiwis roll..
Devin if I may ask but what exactly do you use to charge your camera gear in the middle of nowhere? I have been trying to find out how to charge my Phantom 3 in a mountain range in Dominican Republic. :)
he uses a massive fold out solar panel that he can connect everything to there was a picture of it on his instagram
+Alfie kelly ohhh he probably uses one of those Yeti solar powered batteries! :) thank you brother!
+JuanCarlos CastilloDisla no problem man
Just saying, your floations safeties are looking funny, but it won't even get you a single extra second before the octocopter drowns, you need 1 liter to float 1 kilogram :)
Half a liter on such a heavy copter won't do much ;)
i always seem to discover people after i could have met them. so sad.
How much footage, time wise, is 500 gigs at 6k at 500 fps? That must eat up the space big time! Definitely worth it with those shots though!!!
+Christian Adventure Films Didn't they say at 24 fps?
Jack Craig You know what, I believe you are right! I was still wondering how many minutes that would equal to use up 500 gigs. Just out of curiosity? Thanks for the correction!

+Maksim Mayster It is DEVIN.... IT EVEN SAYS...
+Maksim Mayster The Egyptian Government doesn't allow anyone to visit the Pyramids anymore. Too many people kept ruining them. The main problem was the Pyramids were mined for industrial purposes. Hmm, Typical New Zealanders. it Makes me feel happy that I'm a part of that country.
Lucky you got this done mere months before they instituted a strict no drones policy at Milford Sound!
Hot tip from a kiwi - receiving rolled up money (especially on camera) is awkward, put that in an envelope next time with a little thank you card or something. Were too modest to take money like that from people we just met. Christchurch to Milford is a loooong drive on new zealand roads
I live in nz
What drone is that
I would kinda prefer 1080p at 60 fps to 2160p at 24 fps
what is the background music at 6:43?
Wait...so they have 2 reds??
wasnt this like 10 months ago

Only Devin shoots 500 GB of footage at 6k in 3 hours 😂
Hi Devin !! i am "THE BIGGEST" Indian fan of yours.. Please visit india and lets do leh ladakh.. i would love to join you :) (hope i get the reply)
they would have taken the money if they weren't being filmed i bet
Kiwis are kind and they most likely enjoyed their ride because of the scenery and attractions along the one and maybe the company of each other
+wonderwall135 No money was taken :)
No vloging? 😭😭
+aryan gandhi I think this is an older video so they did not vlog it.
+365INDUSTRIES
