Crazy to think he’s holding the camera with his mouth and he’s talking normally.
He's holding it with his collapsible Wii remote holder that he got from Club Nintendo. It's great at holding things.
Hes actually holding it up with his golden play button
Actually he's holding it with his third arm. Are you guys dumb or something?
He's holding it with his collection of Madden 08 games
He’s holding it up with the gamecube L button
“Limited Edition” hits different now.
Oof

Double Slash the 3D Mario all stars collection
@@lordeverett5642 the 3D collection is limited too
Yeah I literally saw one of those beat up cardboard boxes in GameStop
The year is 2030, Mario 4D all stars has just been released for a limited time
How long was the limited time
King Mayro Don’t worry, bad internet loads in a millisecond in 2030. But those wretched scalpers still exist...
And it doesnt include super mario galaxy 4d 2
@Inbar Shemesh Not for a while, SAO logic? Were not getting it for over 10 years. Apparently there's a law that computer systems being better and smaller every 2 years
@Inbar Shemesh When bending space-time is available to the public, it will be.
The most disappointing to me of this was that they used the OG Mario All Stars, not even the one with Super Mario World.
gotta get that virtual console revenue
Well Super Mario World kinda sucks in my opinion so i never cared
@@ogerponreject yeah i love getting scammed! scam me more daddy nintendo!
radarridr That’s not what a scam is. It’s Super Mario All Stars, exactly what it says on the tin.

I mean... at least 3D All Stars has Sunshine. The original release of Sunshine is often literally more expensive than 3D All Stars on eBay.
They could have done more, but this is not the worst thing Nintendo has ever done.
i'm imagining scott pre-ordering mario 3d all stars and then saying "i'm a sucker"
That was me. I said I wasn't going to buy it, an hour later I pre ordered it.
That was me this week as well. I couldn't help it. It's like dangling a bag of crack to a crack addict except the crack is Mario 64.
I'm a sucker
Uber Cow same
Simple, give me all of your money and you'll be incapable of pre-ordering it.
Not true, mario never ages. He's been fixing my toilet since the 80s
He's been plunging my shower drain with Luigi for the past 20 years
I don’t care if he’s not a plumber anymore
He still does it as a hobby I swear

People say stuff like “3D All Star collection lazy port” but this is literally infinitely worse lol. It’s just ports of the original SNES game. Not even with edited button prompts.
@@eben6144 how could you call a rom dumped in a disc?
TowToo
I mean, basically lol.
This was made to be a rerelease, expected to be a port. The original all stars had completely remade the games and it's super dissapointing to not even see something like bonus content in the new game.
it's $30 though. They're both lazy, though this was lazier.

If he can get 26 minutes out of this, it is more than possible to get a 22 minute long episode about The L Button
he made a 45 minute video about game packaging he can definitely make a 22 min video abt the L button
@@thelivewiresofficial He also spent over an hour on a video about a blue rectangle. And it was magnificent.
@@14bj337 it deserves a grammy
When you bought this, you weren't really buying Super Mario All Stars, you were buying more of a package which just so happened to come with an All Stars disk.
And that package has the bare minimum effort put into it, sadly /:
I remember getting it as a gift and was happy enough with the game.
And then they rereleased it without all that!
@@jayo1212 Yeah, seems a bit pointless to me. They could have just put it on virtual console
🤓 Actually “disk” is spelled disc with a “c” 🤓

I didn't realize this was Scott the Woz, interesting
I'm honestly questioning why Nintendo didn't put as much effort in the 35th anniversary box as they did with the 25th.
Right? It's okay if they just wanna make slightly upscaled ports, but you'd think they'd have some kinda art book or cardboard sleeve for a limited collection like this. And maybe not charge a whopping $60. Then again $30 for a snes rom and some paper is probably worse.
money
@@michaelmodernsonicfan5341 there are stickers exclusive to the physical edition, if thats something
@Liam Werner since when was iwata involved with any of this
@@danieluranga6872 it came with a soundtrack cd and a booklet 3d all stars comes with nothing
Crazy to think that this the treatment Nintendo's flagship franchise got for it's 25th anniversary, but then Kirby received the true celebratory treatment this game should've also gotten. A brand new compilation game with 6+ games, a music CD including tracks from games across the series + some new arrangements, and a fantastic little artbook celebrating the entire franchise.
same with how Skyward Sword limited edition disk also had the full Zelda soundrack including orchestral arrangements.
Limited edition back then: Cool bonus edition of a game with exclusive content and/or small merchandise.
Limited edition now: Get this game before we stop selling it *FOREVER.*
It was still just a SNES game and nothing else.
Same diff, just less stuff
Thats litteraly what a limited edition is. At least 3D Allstars has a clear expireing date. Any other limited edition just has limited stock, which means it could be sold out in a day and nobody knows.
you obliviously just focused on the fact that the box was special and not when he talked about how they did nothing to the games even the button prompts still show the old controllers. i guess you throw in a booklet of which a normal person looks at once and a special box and people somehow find more value in that than proper updates to the game
“Aging, even Mario does it”
The wise words of a wiser man
I always wanted my favorite RUclips channel “Scott’s Stash”, to discuss the history and his history with the Super Mario 25th anniversary: Super Mario All Stars released for the Nintendo Wii

I dont want to see the word limited ever again.

Out of context this sounds like a quote from a motivational speaker
Limited
I got this as a kid for Christmas. One of the Best Christmas gift I've ever gotten. I agree this was a rip off but it's what got me into retro gaming.
The Nintendo Selects rerelease of this, now THAT's a rip-off!
Interesting thing to note: The PAL version of the Mario history booklet actually doesn't have a page, nor a spot in the main timeline for All-Stars, but instead in its place is Super Mario Bros. 2/USA and The Lost Levels gets its own page.
Also the dates and boxarts are of the Japanese releases with the controller image in the bottom left being replaced with the PAL boxart and year of release.
Ah i remember that. I was wondering why that wasnt in the booklet in the american version.

Honestly that shit slaps. He should go with that, it's a pretty good name man.
yes yes yes yes yes.
A history lesson, for those among us who think 2020 is when Nintendo started being lazy with their anniversary rereleases
NES games were $5 each. Lost Levels was $6. $21 plus the soundtrack CD and a DVD, easily $9 plus the luxury of being a physical release.
Super Mario 64 on Virtual Console: $10
Super Mario Galaxy: $20
Sunshine has never been rereleased so let’s assume: $15
That’s $45, BUT it’s portable and upscaled. Not quite $15 but close enough it makes sense.
Don’t compare it to this. Compare it to the OG all-stars. NOW we see when they are lazy
@@Danbo22987 so you think mario 64 isn't worth a single twenty?

To anyone who has bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii from Gamestop:
*You may have Scott's copy*
more like anyone who has been to his local gamestop
"and they didn't do anything!"
I mean their pretty much doing that again for 3D all-stars
Doing 3 bare-bones ports with the sound tracks included
With new joycon controls**
**Litterally the wii controls but ported to the joycons
Atleast they're upscaling the resolution and editing the button layout to fit the joycons and the pro controller, they didn't do jack squat with All Stars for the Wii. Also joycons are just better Wii controllers, they pretty much acknowledge it so of course they're going to just port it. Granted, the joycon drift is the only problem with it, and it shouldn't of existed.
@@pumpkin6112 i mean thats the least they could do
@@ThatOneIrishFurry Yeah, and they didn't even do the least for All Stars on the Wii, All Stars for the Wii is the definition of bare bones, it's only salvation were the goodies that came with it.
@@pumpkin6112 joycons use gyro, and the wii uses the sensor bar. There is no opinion here really, the sensor bar is more efficient in tracking your movement, and allows the controller to never decalibrate. So, why would the joycons be better? I'm seriously curious
@@undergalaxy775 Technically it does use gyro if you have the Wii motionplus or you have the Wii controllers that have the motion plus built in. Granted it's not the best gyro, but it's a gyro nonetheless.
Scott recording like an amateur unboxing video with his long "umms..." is a fun experience
A moment of silence for the people who don't know about Scott's 2nd channel...

We know who the real Woz fans are
He didn't say "Hey all, Scott here" so this is a non-canon episode
It's released on Scott's Stash, what did you expect?
When mario dies of age, we'll have to start playing baby mario games
What why
@@WonderfulBoness it's an unholy ritual we perform to "revive" the og mario
Nah, baby mario will take his place when he's older. The games will be the same, they just won't have the babies as playable characters.
xXSephiroth420Xx but then what happens when baby mario dies?
annikkaware The cycle repeats. Introduce new babies to take the new casts’ place once THEY die. Never-ending cycle

ODYSSEY.
@@jumpyman9754 Am I supposed to take you seriously?
XxMeme X MachinexX no, that was a joke
it’s so weird that they didn’t use the super mario world version
Thank you Sakurai
Nintendo seems weirdly adverse to using the +World version of All-Stars. In this case I feel like it was because it was on the Wii Shop and they wanted you to just buy it there, and on Switch it's because they put World on the service before All-Stars. But like, it's nice to have the option. +World has unique sprites for Luigi and lets you choose between 1 player and 2 player on the same save file.
I remember getting this back in the day, all i have left is the music cd the rest is gone somewhere
Same happened with me. I think my uncle or someone bought it for 70 bucks. I sold the original game for some reason, Yep, I was an idiot.
Peppino and Wesker: Friends Forever Club I sold my Playstation three when I had to clean it out 😔. We all had that moment
I still have mine complete, but almost lost the book. It was in my basement. So I have a cib. I wish the box was in better condition, but my parents kept all the boxes for videogames so when I started wanting to play older games I was so happy to find a wii box with all the manuals and this box along with the wii sports and wii resort box. So many goodies for my wii, but sadly never had any of the mario kart, super mario galaxies, and zeldas. But was so happy to see manuals and boxed stuff from my childhood
I have everything but the book. I had it when I got the game, brand new, but took it with me so much that I eventually just lost track of it SOMEWHERE.
@@jadedshade3136 that sucks.

As for talking about Mario 3 before Mario 2, it's probably because they made the manual in Japan. In Japan, they received Super Mario USA(Mario 2 for us) after Mario 3. Technically, it's chronologically correct for them: Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2(Lost Levels), Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario USA.
Kirby's Dream Collection: _"Pathetic."_
God, I've had this game for so long, that music disc is still in with my Wii games all those years later, and I somehow didnt lose it, I'm pretty sure the booklet is still with my old strategy guides too

Both are pretty lazy tbh
@@ohioboy1878 ye
@@ohioboy1878 i like how people are now complaining about something thats been wanted since the switch launched because it isnt hd enough or whatever everyone's problem of the day is
@@tangerinetech5300 I mean I actually agree with a lot of the criticism with it being a limited release and a really bad value considering you're buying 3 games that are more than a decade old. People try to defend this by saying Mario Sunshine is expensive 2nd hand but that's probably because Nintendo never actually rereleased the game until now and most games around that era aren't worth that much digitally. Plus these ports aren't that great. Like the Mario 64 port for switch that fans made is objectively better than Nintendo's official port. Don't get me wrong it's nice that people are able to play these games but if Nintendo wants to charge 60 for these games they could do a lot more.
funny thing is that its even lazier than this crap
I love how he is entertaining even when he is just talking about one game on his floor with no jokes or significant editing.

These videos are like, genuinely relaxing and calming.
Not sure if those are weird descriptors to use, but regardless, thanks Scott, legit.
something about just hanging out and listening to scott talk is really relaxing
Back then I was walking thru the store and saw the 25th Mario anniversary red Nintendo Wii. I was broke as hell at the time but I still went for it. Still own it and love it to this day.
Hearing the Mario Galaxy background music...

Made me tear up a bit
Story time with Scott is a wholesome watch
Lmao I had a 3D all stars ad at the beginning of the video and thought it was actually the video, waited a minute trying to see what was wrong
These vids are so chill and they’re so good
I remember I got this for Christmas of '10 and feeling underwhelmed by the game itself. I thought that from the box that it was gonna be better looking Super Mario Advance games with uncrunched audio. But I was super confused when the audio was "super nintendo-y". Needless to say, it took a bit of time for this game to grow on me.
This is like a Scott the woz episode with a little less Scott the woz episode. It’s fine, I love it, and it probably didn’t take long to make. I would love to see more videos like this.
As a kid, my only exposure to SMB3 was Mario Advance 4 and then this a few years later, so I was shocked to learn the original version of Mario 3 had different graphics
Day after Christmas, my Dad and I went shopping to spend Christmas money and he picked this up for me as a bonus gift. I was so happy. Still have it and treasured the soundtrack and every detail in the Mario history insert.
I found that red Mario CD case with the art book and soundtrack in it at a flea market and had no idea what it was from. So thank you because now I know where it came from!
Hey Scott, I doubt you will read this, but I noticed at the around 10:30 you were confused why Super Mario Bros. 2 was after every other game in the instruction manual. My theory is that the manual was made for the Japanese players, because the order of Mario games in Japan is Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2 (JP), Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario USA (US Mario 2). If that is the case, it would make much more sense for the order to be that way because the order would cater to Japanese people, even if it would be confusing for the average Ohioan.
I didn't know this game was a limited edition. I've had the game all this time and never realised it was valuable.
Scott you’re right about the classy thing because having the box and looking at it looks cool!
I remember getting this for Christmas, it was how I beat the original Mario games originally. But I was very underwhelmed with the CD and booklet. Even being a dumb 13 year old I was let down. I really wish we got something like the Kirby collection America got - now that's love there. 3D all stars is so much better because they actually seem to have put some effort into it. 60 bucks is still a bit steep though, but it has Galaxy so I'll still buy it.
Now the Mario 3D all stars unboxing:
"So you open the box, and you can see the game cartridge inside, it has no manual or anything but some screenshots on inside of the box..... Ok aaaaand we are done!
Thanks for coming to my unboxing-"
I like how they slapped the super easy to look up renders on top of some of the never before seen concept art
We love you Scott.
That ending perfectly sums up Scott's love hate relationship with Nintendo.
I’m so glad I got this as a kid, I still have the music disk saved to my old pc.
New episode of things on Scott's floor. Now this is the content I've been missing
Glad this popped up on my feed. Didn’t know you had a second channel. Subscribed!
I am convinced even if Scott did a video commentary on watching paint dry, I would still watch it. I really like these types of videos of his.
The hand movement is BEAUTIFUL
This is one I got when it first came out. I don’t have the art book or the box cover anymore, but I still have the music cd that came with it.
How do Scott's unedited videos are just as funny as his edited ones, just in a different way
I had this as a kid and had no clue what it really was not knowing it was the anniversary, but I either gave it away or lost it a few years ago. I also got a free scarf with it. Me and my brothers would also play the discs. I thought the book was really cool too.
I like this type of video every now and then
This literally just feels like a regular Scott The Woz episode with his jokes and tone of voice, how does he do it.
I remember wanting this back in the day when it was new, but if I remember rightly, it was constantly sold out. At least in the UK anyway. Perhaps I should finally pick up a copy.
got this with my wii on christmas morning in 2010 very nostalgic
I might be wrong (not) but in the original Super Mario Bros 3, the only way to play the mini game is to choose the other player on your turn while playing cooperative adventure. This version highlights the ability to play the mini game (Mario Bros, 2 player) from the title screen of Super Mario Bros 3.
I love these longer, unfiltered scott style of videos
I still have the Limited Edition I bought at GameStop 10 years ago.
I used to own it when I had my Wii. Now I’m looking forward to get the 3D All Stars coming in a week. My early birthday gift.
