I have a couple friends that have Harleys. I never really wanted a bike. One friend had (at the time) 3 Harleys and said he'd sell me one.
    I wasn't looking for a bike.
One evening I say a bike, my mouth dropped, did not know what it was, saw it was a Victory...said to myself 'I've Never Heard of a Victory...owner came out of the business he was parked at. We talked..at length. (He rides the very bike you are showing...and said. 'I can sell you a bike...')

Mechanic said the C clip in the tranny either came loose or broke. Being that the tranny is part of the engine means that in order to repair it, you must remove the engine and split the case. Was going to run about 5 grand to repair IF no gears were messed up in the tranny. Any other problem found could easily add another grand or so as parts are already hard to find. I've ridden Victory, a very nice bike that created a niche for itself by being unpretentious. I've ridden an Indian, which seemed to be a renamed Victory trying to be something it wasn't. STILL.... Both were nice bikes and if it suits you, awesome! Go get one and ride it! I think most of the criticism of Harley-Davidson has nothing to do with the motorcycles themselves. The beef is either with the buying demographic and their attitude toward "infidels", or with the dealers and their greediness at the bargaining table. I ride a Road King, but I try to avoid stereotypes. I ride in full protective riding gear with a full face helmet. I ride with all kinds of other folks and their chosen brands because not everyone in my riding organization buys Harley. We insist on the "Planet Fitness" method of getting along, the "Judgement Free Zone". I love seeing all kinds of motorcycles in our group rides. It makes me wish I owned every one of them!

I always love Victory's because they have a big v-twin with overdrive, have a lower CG and are just lower to the ground for us shorties, and they look clean and modern. I'll never understand why every other v-twin on the market either looks unchanged since 1953 and looks just like every other v-twin ever made, oooorr they've got a wee little pizza cutter way up on the next county which makes them handle like a bloated walrus.

I owned a '14 Cross Country Tour, a '10 VTX 1800 T, and a '10 Street Glide, at the same time. I wholeheartedly preferred the CCT. The handlebars didn't vibrate my hands to sleep. The stock seating position was much better with large floorboards to put your feet in more comfortable locations. Massive luggage area in the bags. Great BiG GOBS of torque. Smooth engine. There wasn't anything NOT to appreciate. Sadly traded it for a Slingshot, hindsight mistake. If I ever find another CCT in my price range, I'm jumping on it and doing the trike conversion (bad leg prevents safe stops on a 2 wheeler).

John Garrison - That is a stupid reason, i still find parts for my 1948 Indian Chief. I still find parts for my 2003 Indian Chief, Victory is a far superior bike to H-D and you will still find parts in 20+ years.
I own 8 bikes right now and not a single 1 if a H-D. Harley is crap compared to Indian, Victory and Yamaha which is why H-D sales keep dropping year after year after year.
I very recently almost bought a 2016 H-D SGS, i decided i wanted a touring bike and i looked at the Indian Chieftain, H-D SGS and because i didn't like how forward the controls are on the Chieftain and was leaning towards the SGS. I was telling a friend and he said before you pull the pin and get the 2016 H-D SG, he said has a friend selling a 2016 Victory magnum i should check out, i am familiar with the Victory branch because i have a 2007 Victory Jackpot. He called up his buddy and we drove down to see the Magnum, it was mint and gorgeous, lots of upgrades including full stage 1 pipes and air intake along with an ECU tuner. I took it out for a ride and OMG, feels, handles and looks better than the SGS,. I fell in love with the 2016 magnum that has only 4000 miles on it and still under warranty until 08/2019. The H-D hard 0 warranty, more miles and not even close on the upgrades and was $7500 more. I bought the 2016 Victory Magnum and having it delivered on February 2nd.

I really liked Victory's modern take on cruiser design. If ever I was going to own a cruiser, Victory had my interest. I was just never in the market for one when they were being made and when I finally got in the market for a new bike, they were no longer available. What a shame. I can understand why Polaris started producing Indian motorcycles and can understand why they didn't want to support two competing brands. Seems to me they'd be smart to keep all the Victory designers and engineers and sell Victory product under the Indian banner. Still lovin my 2016 Victory Vision. I knew Victory line was being shut down when I bought it, but had been enthralled with the vision since walking by one on the dealers showroom floor in 2009. Victory engines and trannys are near bulletproof, so I likely have many more miles to put on it. I am still bummed out Polaris ended the line. Support for the line was committed for 10 years, that was from 2018 I think. There are a lot of good motorcycles out there, but I still like my Victory.

Victory and Indians are built for bigger riders. If your 6 foot or taller you would be much more comfortable on these bikes. Finding parts is getting expensive and hard to find. But these Victories are a deal if your looking for a big bike with lower cost. Harley’s are nice but they are built for smaller people. Don’t believe me, just look at the floor boards.

Victory is a better than Harley in design and 0ower and comfort. The sad thing about Polaris is they had no heart and didn't realize what they have so they close Victory. I would have bought a Victory Cross Roads if they would have stayed open. All the Victory dealers around me in cities all around were not passionate and some of them are jerks. Walk into their Victory store and it acts like it kills them to have you in there as a customer. I was never a Harley-Davidson fan but Battle Creek Harley-Davidson always treated you a good when you want next door. They won me over as I bought me a Road King Classic. I love Victory motorcycles! The Kingpin is one of my all time favorite bikes ever. I would like to see someone buy Victory from Polaris and take them to the next level.

@@johnanderson9735 It might be. Not sure. I know the Victory fans that loved Victory were not Indian fans at all. I always liked Indian. The Chief I always thought was cool looking. When I contacted Polaris online before, they said Victory didn't sell a whole lot. I was arguing with them because of their lack of passion for their product in my area of Victory dealers. When the dealers act like it kills them if you walk into their store to look around, that is a bad way to push your product. Victory motorcycles are sweet! Just needed more passion in their product in my opinion.

I love my 2016 Victory Crossroads 8ball. The people I ride with are on Harleys. The performance of the Victory IMHO is better than the Harley. There are two things that I wish victory had done differently; the gas tank doesn't seem to fit a fuel nozzle properly and it's often a pain in the but to fill the tank. Also, the stock pipes make it sound a little anemic and it doesn't properly represent the true power of this beast.

I like how they designed a bad engine... denies their is a problem, and then sells a "Screaming Eagle" kit designed to upgrade and fix that very problem. For a mere $700 plus labor. My middle finger always finds it's way into the air at those moments. Still, I love my Harley. Maybe it's the shake at idle. Or the sound of that exhaust.
