I have a DSS-17 in whiskey sunset and I love it. Strangely it likes 12 gauge strings and it sounds fantastic I couldn't be more be more happier with it.
Thanks for a great demo! Picking, strumming, a little hybrid picking and hard and soft dynamics. You covered it all and showed exactly what this wonderful (and affordable) solid wood Martin slope-shouldered Dreadnought is capable of! May I ask if those are "Factory Martin" strings? Also what type pick (and gauge) are you using? Once again...Great playing and awesome demonstration!
Thanks! Those are Martin Lifespan 12 -53 which is what this guitar ships with. I'm using a Dunlop Tortex standard .73 (yellow) Thanks for watching! I'm about to post a new demo of a Martin D 18, i have upgraded to a pair of SM 81 mics from the Zoom H1 handheld recorder. The sound is much better. Watch out for it!
Maybe it's the way it's recorded, but it's almost too much mids-forward. I wish more of these demo videos were done with two or three different mic setups so you could see what they sound like with alternate recording methods. I never mic an acoustic for recording where they have it mic'd here.
I agree to an extent. If you watch the new videos, you'll see i'm now in a different room that is acoustically treated , and using Shure SM 81's instead of the Zoom recorder. Thanks for watching!

Dream guitar
Nice playing!
nice guitar!!! wonderful playing too!!!
Beautiful playing my friend!! Great sounding Martin . I love my Martin’s though I do not give them justice with my playing!
I love mine. The monel strings give this guitar its own vibe and sound. This is my go to.
Well done. Sounds great.
I remember this guy from the Flamencoforo 😊 Great player.
Guitar seems to be tuned half step down, so it naturally has more "growl"...

I read these come with Martin Retros which is very dry and fundamental, brings more lows out of my vintage texan. That is probably what you’re hearing
@@baytunesguitarsWere you playing with stock Monel strings?
Every single Martin guitar except for this Martin I find to be mid-forwards. This sounds more like a scooped Taylor than a Martin
Great song. Mister Bojangles, Sammy Davis Junior.
are these the Martin 13s that get shipped on the guitar?
These come with 12-54 Retro strings
That's alot of guitar for the money.
But I don't have the guitar or the money so what do I have?
What does...'for the money mean'....It's two grand.
It's Two Grand. It's a lot of money. Bought one yesterday. Live savings.
I wont thw blm one plz
