Agreed. Sadly he no longer teaches, but you can read his course notes online and see some of his lectures here on the tube. Anyone know what other value investing guru is still teaching?
He constructed his index+ in the smartest way I can think of - Ben Graham would have approved.
Joel Greenblatt is the guy who tried to pull his money out of Michael Burry's fund, which was one of few that bet against the mortgage market in the early to mid 2000s... I guess he learned his lesson lol.
if u really that confidence in your picks. why buy the s&p as an overlay
his own picks are for his private fund. the Gotham index+ is a separate, public fund for people who want to beat the S&P500 without the volatility of the individual picks.
