Kinda something silly that popped into my head...what do they do with the crusts and ends they cut off when they make the sandwiches? I would be either using them to make croutons or breadcrumbs, at least if anything i would at least feed them to the birds. It would seem wasteful to throw them away but after a point I am sure they are too many to deal with and it is easier to just throw them away. At home i always feed the end slices I don't eat to the birds.
I always buy from my local pastry shop, everything is so delicious and it smells amazing every time you walk in. My favorites are the strawberry rhubarb pastry, cheese turnovers, and their huge cinnamon rolls. If you catch them at the right time you can get the cinnamon rolls while they are still warm, along with the Canadian butter tarts. Now I am hungry...yummy
