Storm Large is a great singer with a very powerful voice.In this however you can feel the love and misticism of the original song in Loredana's voice.It's a different interpretation,I find it more appropriate for a romanian folklore song.I'm sure Pink Martini wouldn't have chosen an unqualified voice for this.Pink Martini are not just amateurs seeking attention from romanian public.Loredana has a very powerful voice too and I am sure she could've sang this in various keys but I am sure she chose this because she felt so.Also Thank You Loredana for your ❤ of Romania!

I love this song when who ever sings it does it justice.
No need to justify Loredana's voice. talent and feel as a Romanian, nor the band Musicianship and its pic....it is very simple..they are all beautiful .... Loredana's has a beautiful depth and feel of the culture in his voice and language accent for instance.......I just listened to the original Maria Tănase ...SO..... a matter of taste.... in Music artists cross barriers very easily on the idiosyncrasies n feelings of other cultures.... I chose all three.... I listen to each and each of them, Laredana, Storm and Maria, IS so beautiful, profound and what's more important...amazingly UNIQUE!!!
Nu sunt un expert, insa am ascultat cu mare atenție, Maria Tănase (parca) canta în transa, de asta și rămâne o referința dupa atâta timp.Erau alte vremuri.Cred ca in nici un caz nu trebuie sa facem comparatii, multumim tuturor pentru interpretare si curaj.

Loredana is not your average, I totally disagree. Storm Large has of course, a strong voice and did a good job singing - not being Romanian she understood this song is pure heart ache and therefore rendered it dramatically and powerfully and that was the prevalent feeling. However, nobody can sing it with those nuances of feeling that only a gifted Romanian singer can, as Loredsna is, because, as a Romanian, you have an intimate feeling of the song that truthfully, no one else can have.

Cred ca nu intelegi muzica tiganeasca,pana la urma este scrisa de Anton Pan si cantata de Maria Tanase(rromi) si reinterpretata de multi. Loredana a cantat curat,nu incearca nimeni sa o detroneze pe Maria Tanase pentru ca nu se poate nici in 100 de ani de acum inainte. Cred ca Paula Seling este cea mai buna versiune de pana acum. 😊

Nu cred ca Loredana a cantat aceasta piesă pentru a o compara voi cu alte soliste. Fiecare are ceva al ei, vorbiți strict de interpretare, fără a face comparații. Am impresia ca alte argumente nu aveți, doar făcând comparații total nepotrivite.

look for Paula Seling perfect interpretation of this work written by Anton Pan sung by the great Maria Tanase and reinterpreted by many artists.
it's not about high keys, the interpretation of the Romanians is closer than any interpretation of another artist from another nation, it's about the feeling of living and we, knowing the lyrics and knowing the original piece, know what Loredana is interpreting about. search for Paula Seling and you will hear life and strength in her voice there. pure feeling of authentic music😊
