I am on board with that it can actually be a TV series I love the coin guy what a nice person and the knowledge and I'd love to see what takes place quit selling in the buying and the knowledge it's awesome so yeah TV serious would be absolutely awesome
100% agree. These are some of my favorite Speg vids. I think Speg should give Guy a cut (perhaps for a friend's discount) and legit start making videos together. I'm really interested to see what Guy would be interested in talking about for 15min.
California is more flaky ahaha . He really knows his stuff and presents the information in a friendly manner. So cool. Lots of good nuggets of knowledge in this video. Thanks for sharing Speg!
You can tell this guy is not in the business just to make money. He’s in the business to teach and spread knowledge. Very wholesome guy I’d love to learn a few things from him.
Thanks for posting this video, it is always good to see how things work. My primary LCS is strictly coinage, based on an odd local restriction, so getting info on those other pieces was a good thing.
I JUST KNEW you'd pay The Coin Guy another visit soon. Why did I know that?? Weird. But ya know, I could watch these visits with him all day long! It's one of those things I used to do myself with my 'Coin Guy' back home as a kid. There was just something magic about the place. I'd have rather been there than in a candy store any day of the week. thank you, Speg!!
I love the coin guy, he is upfront about the premium and many coin dealers are not. I like the video but I was curious to what the grand total would be?
Love these videos, thanks for the great content. Many people who inherit their parents coin collection don’t know what to think or how to liquidate the collection.
Nice video Speg and very informative. I really like these kinds of boots on the ground type on LCS interviews. There are probably a lot of commonalities among the many LCSs around the country as to how they look at buying/selling.
As a new Stacker this has been the most valuable video I've seen so far. I've been stacking ASE's, Maples and Pre 65 Constitutional. It is good to know what type of silver is really liguid in real life. I appreciate this one. Thanks!
That Mexican Peso you have is what started my love for coin collecting. I found it in the streets when I was a kid. It toned nicely. Holds a special place in my vast collection now.
This was a great video. I wish everyone that does coin shop videos would ask there coin guy how much he buys stuff for. It would be very informative and i think alot of people would be surprised. Most people think there going to get a buck over for eagles and i would say 80% of the shops out there pay spot for them or less. My shop pays a buck under for eagles and generics. Again great video i loved it speg. 💿👑
I'd think you'd pay a premium for a type set, because it would take so long to acquire everything in the set. How long does it take to fill the book? You'd have to charge a premium, above what each coin value is, for your acquiring/hunting/searching.
Some of the older Mexico Pesos have a good amount of Silver and the amount of Silver by grams and the Purity is also listed on every coin. They also have some numismatic value and I have personally bought some from the 1940 ish So I do wish that I was more prepared to give information, but you can't just say all peso's are the same .Look the up , you'll be surprised by how much some of the Mexican Peso's are worth
I'd love the Big bag of peso's and check them for dates and rarities. Some would surprise you with the amount of money that some would fetch . Also , many of the older peso's are Silver. Check the face of the older peso's for the weight and purity , I think that some are .720 pure by weight in grams. Happy hunting ! Terry
I have a silver eagle set 69proof ultra cameo on the internet sell for 3k all day long, 3 coin shops offered me 30 to 36 a coin 1200 max. this guys spot on when it comes to resale
Really like these videos buddy . I could watch all day long it always amazes me you can spent months coin roll hunting or looking for a certain coin and you bring it in to a coin guy and there like oh yeah I have 500 of those and your like no sh-t it took for ever to find one . Thank you for you time appreciate you
I'm jealous you have a type set. One of these days I'll have the guts to start one. Thanks for sharing the Coin Guy once again. I heart the Coin Guy :)
Maybe it's just me, but it seems a few more prices might be good to know when "Selling your coins and precious metals". That's how they're gonna gig you. Most people have no idea what their coins are worth and are at the mercy of a dealer. Not a good situation.
Quote of the month @ 19:07! Coin Guy: "I've got nuggets bigger than this." Me: I'll take your word for it Coin Guy. You don't need to prove it to me!! Lol!
He seems like a good guy I might have to lug grandma’s coins over . She got dementia and started buying coins without anyone knowing lots of proofs and stuff . Most probably isn’t worth anything. But I’d like to know. Seen some state quarters could be worth something she bought bags of those.
I got a Stone Mountain commemorative for Christmas and I love it. Can you ask him next time what he thinks of world coins? How much does he want for 40%?
I find it rediculous that this coin shop dealer expects you to have the rarest coins, highest grades and all of the key dates for these type set books. The man even tells you how expensive they are, he probably couldn't even get half of them himself, yet expects you to get them to impress everyone and own a small fortune. He acts like what you have there isn't very impressive and a lackluster. I'm sorry but I find him, and people like him, very assinine. You have a very nice collection there and I would be proud of it if I were you. You did the best you can, ignore big headed dealers like him that tell you your coin collection isn't that impressive or greatly valued.
@@Spegtacular yes, you do what you can when and if you can. I just get annoyed by most coin dealers, what can I say, I've had my own experiences with them, they can be ball-busters, lol.
@@misterTVman if I come off asinine isn't my intent. I try to make teaching moments with the customer. A lot of people that come in have no knowledge on grading coins to even what they have. So I try my best to inform them on what they have. Also when people bring in type coin sets they are usually looking to upgrade what they have.
If I was a coin dealer and you were a customer coming into my shop with your coin collection and wanted information about them, my first question would be, What are your intensions with your coin collection, what is your ultimate goal in collecting them? From there, after they answer you, then you can educate them or send them in the right direction if they are misinformed about their coins. Make no assumptions or putdowns to discourage them from collecting.
I don't understand any of these coin/auction sites. They tell you this coin is worth thus and so, or it sold at Heritage Auctions or thus and so auction for this amount of money? You take the same coin to a local "yonko" coin dealer and he says face value is all it is worth. You question about what you saw on the internet and they are ALL pretty much the same "everyone on the internet is lying"? How can a person get an honest answer on the coins they have. Very frustrating!!!!
It has to be the exact coin in the exact condition- as a dealer people come in all the time with a coin they say what you are saying but they are showing me a fake coin or not the same date or not the same condition or not the same mint mark etc... so its frustrating on our end too!
I would have enjoyed more if the prices he would have paid were noted. Would it have been how much over but more likely how much under spot would he have paid for the silver bar
Get outta town! I loved...loved..loved this video!!!!! The COIN with the hole in it though...i didn't see what is was.I am certain you would of known if that was attached to a medal though. Well now "You are SPECTACULAR. " ( LIKED COIN GUY TO) THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Makes me want to jump on a plane from the UK to buy something from this guy!
Top bloke.
Love this! This could be a series. Always great to see what coin shops are thinking and buying.
I am on board with that it can actually be a TV series I love the coin guy what a nice person and the knowledge and I'd love to see what takes place quit selling in the buying and the knowledge it's awesome so yeah TV serious would be absolutely awesome
I'm 100% with you.

Great interview Spegtacular. Coin guy giving his information to us thru you is priceless. Thanks brother.

I wish he was my coin guy. I could listen to his accent all day long. Reminds me of my grandpa who was born and raised in NYC.
He is truly a beautiful soul. Learning numismatics from him is so enjoyable.

Thanks for watching, Mark!
4 years went fast. Watching for some nostalgia.
I love the coin guy, he is upfront about the premium and many coin dealers are not. I like the video but I was curious to what the grand total would be?
That would be awesome if that shop was close to were you live. I would deal with that guy any day.

Very nice video. I really appreciate the Dealer. Thanks!

Another great video with the coin guy. It was very informative. Thanks for showing! Even interesting for me here in Germany.
Thanks for watching, Carsten!
Very cool. I love seeing Coin Guy.
Those 1 Peso coins, try to find a dealer in Texas. It's a Tejano /Mexican tradition to give small detonation coins at kids birthday parties.
John Sorge and keep the big detonation coins for the adults? Lol 🤯

So we learned Spegtacular has a black 100 oz Doorstop. NIIIIIIICE! And his got some gold nuggets. He aint just a normal stacker.
11:54 Can confirm, platinum is very hard to sell. Nobody wanted to buy a slightly used platinum wedding ring after a divorce. Learned my lesson there.
love this coin shop..... wish it was in the uk
Outstanding video 👍 It is always at treat to get to visit with Guy. Thanks for the insights and infotainment.🤓🤓😁😁😁😅

Another guy I like coin guy, and the second guy is the new York city metal guy

Try building a type set with as many proofs as possible. Now that's a pricy set.
I got a Stone Mountain commemorative for Christmas and I love it. Can you ask him next time what he thinks of world coins? How much does he want for 40%?
Chris stop messing around and go see the man.
SpegTacular I will one day.
Great video and very knowledgeable LCS maybe too knowledgeable, on a few items he may have been lowballing but it is a business. Thanks for sharing!

My local pawn shop won't even pay spot price for metals. I don't know of anyone in town who would in a pinch.
