    Not used a Razer mouse before, being very fond of my -Batmobile- RAT 7. I had a bit of trouble with RSI using a regular mouse but the -Batmobile- RAT 7 has been fine for just over 3 years now. I do look with hungry eyes at the Razer Naga -mouses- -mices- mice as the plethora of buttons pleases my MMORPG soul.

    I had an old Razer Mamba for about 3 years.. It was the best (and most expensive) PC item I owned at the time.. I miss it.. It was so comfortable in my palm.
    The wireless was faultless, never had a problem with latency and the battery lasted for weeks at a time.
    Good review, Blunty, maybe I'll buy a new Mamba when I can.

    The battery swap you mentioned towards the end, isn't that exactly what you do with the AA-thing? Just have a wall charger close to the desk and swap empty batteries for full ones.
    Anyway, great review, even if high key lighting can get a bit strenuous after a while. The only thing stopping me from buying a Razer mouse is that they don't have the Logitech-thing with a switch for stepless scroll, but the Mamba do look fantastic.

    I've had my Diamondback 3g mouse pretty good stuff and handled my abuse of it still working fine today.
    Only bad experience from Razer was the Onza controller went through 2 and a Onza tournament edition model all same problem with the sticks deciding to move by there self eventually got annoying as fighting the sticks for camera control etc isn't fun don't care how interesting the ground is haha.

    I really liked my Mamba 2012 but so far I had to have it exchanged two times. Like clockwork they died after about 11 months. The third one has died about three weeks ago and this time they refused to replace it again. So I got a roccat tyon... Let's see how that will do. So far it feels great.

  • @MikeLeFish
    @MikeLeFish 8 лет назад

    Do you have any experience with Logitech gaming gear? I use a Logitech G602 mouse (wireless, AA powered) and am curious how it would compare... I'm more of a casual gamer on the PC, more likely to be found on MineCraft or Civ5 than anything requiring insanely fast and accurate response, but I must say I've been entirely happy with the Logitech mouse thus far. I've always liked the look of Razer gear, but find them usually a bit out of my price bracket :/
    I may also have spent a large portion of this video giggling at the F-bomb in the background there, now I want one!

    I've had my eyes on this mouse. I currently have a Razer Ouroboros, which has the same option of wired or wireless, which I love. However my mouse, and my Razer Lycosa keyboard, both seem to have hiccups and issues like the keyboard not responding randomly, and the mouse occasionally not working in wireless mode until i rebott the pc. Sadly this still happens after reinstalling the software and drivers. Otherwise, I've been fairly happy with their performance.

    $259.95 AU. I don't care how many flashing lights are on it, that is extortion. I liked it better when the Aus dollar was at parity

    • @xzst
      @xzst 8 лет назад +2

      +Jimpotamus Its 180€ in Germany, which is 3x times the price of a high end gaming mouse like the Logitech g502, Zowie EC2-a, Razer Deathadder etc.. Not worth it at all.

    • @cakelesscoder9562
      @cakelesscoder9562 8 лет назад +2

      +Jimpotamus you could buy a g602 and HUNDREDS of AA's for that! if it were $140, I'd say it was good, but at that price.... yeah no thanks I'll just keep my g602 and swap batteries twice each year. and honestly, if you ask me it is better to just have to change batteries mid match then wait for a mouse to charge! and yeas I know you can do the whole wired switch thing on this, but on others you sometimes can't. plus, that kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless mouse. Also, I tried my mates mamba and my g602 in a couple of CS:GO matches, and I did better with the g602, even after having only just got it and used it for 10 minutes.

    • @Jimpotamus
      @Jimpotamus 8 лет назад

      +Steve Welch It's ridiculous, I'm in the market for a new controller & for that money I could get one of the new Xbox One Elite controllers and still have plenty of money left over for a decent mouse. Looks like I'm sticking with my Logitech G500. I think the only thing worth the money at Razer are the mouse pads, which is a shame because their gear looks sensational

  • @medallish

    You should try the Steelseries Sensei Wireless, imo the best wireless gaming mouse I've used, it does exactly the same as that mouse, you can connect it directly to the USB and it feels like a wired mouse in responsiveness, the charger for the Razer mouse looks better, sadly the Sensei needs to have it's contacts cleaned often when putting it in the charger bay.

    In terms of response time, the Logitech g700 has some of the best response times that I have seen in a wireless mouse. recording the mouse and monitor at 240 FPS shows no difference between wired and wireless when on max gaming mode. This does come at a cost of horrible battery life (around 4 to 5 hours).

    I hope the battery doesn't bulge up on you like 2 of mine did. Im sorry but the newer Razer products are crap. Ive gone through 3 (One started to double click, the other started to scroll without me moving the wheel, and the last one I didn't want to rick a battery rupturing on me.) mice in 2 years. My room mate is having issues with his 2 month old Naga. My brothers Tiamat headset is falling apart after a year. Ive gone back to Logitech (Had my old MX1000 for years) and got the new MX Master. After 8 months, so far so good.

    I love Razer's mice - they're freakin' awesome*!
    *But I haven't been on lucky side of their QC...
    My first Razer mouse was a Copperhead, my goodness was that an awesome mouse, it won me so many CQC firefights and I just absolutely loved that thing. Unfortunately it crapped out on me after a year of use and I couldn't return it for a replacement, I forgot why, but I was so bummed out that I didn't have my Copperhead anymore and my gaming performance has been mediocre since then. I switched over to a Logitech MX518 after reading reviews that "it's the most amazing mouse ever!", but it's just a "meh" mouse. I'm currently using Razer's Taipan mouse and I love it, the body and grip remind me of when I was awesome with my Copperhead - but of course, it's also shitting out on me after only a year of owning it and I'm waiting for Razer's RMA thing-a-ma-crap to go through.
    Razer's mice have fantastic performance, they just seem to crap out on me after a year of use :sadface:

    I really feel the new design is worse than 2012. The mouse is slightly bigger and thicker than the 2012 version. The curve by the thumb area is far more ergonomic on the Razer 2012 than the 16K in my opinion. The new mamba kind of feels like it slips out of your hand while the 2012 version is just all around completely comfortable.

      +Errol Jay Bastareche I'm sure it's fine, I expect the tracker and wireless tech is next to identical to what's in use here... but personally I've never been a big fan of the somewhat over-engineered looking design of mice like that... too many edges I prefer a simple, clean, smooth surface on which to rest my hand. That said, I have not actually used the ouroboros for any "real" time, just played with it briefly at expos/trade-shows a couple times.
