I swear to God, this man just dropped 43points 5 assists and 11 rebounds and also had 7 poster dunks on me in 2k, dude was dunkin like he was Vince Carter 💀
The only player to gather multiple All-NBA first Team, then being multiple All-ABA first Team. He was so underrated. In Philadelphia, the duo formed of Billy Cunningham and Wilt Chamberlain was something. Nothing was forced, they were a complementary to each other. Players blend together tremendously. Alex Hannum was an unbelievable coach : he convinced his players to fulfill their roles. Why? Under Dolph Schayes, some players weren't happy about how the offense was run; and the lack of willingness [some of their stars] to protect their own basket. Great mix!
Billy Cunningham was really one of the most underrated players in the 1960s and the 1970s because most of his career played sixth man. He’s the same guy as John Havlicek but because of his early retirement, he’s very underrated as a player. Honestly, I didn’t know that he’s actually a great basketball player because I really knew him most as a coach for the Dr J’s Sixers era until when I saw or heard that he’s included in the 50 greatest players of all time in 1997.
You can tell that this guy had some serious hops, smooth game as well. Fundamentally sound, one summer of adjusting to the modern rules. His game would be fluid!
I saw him play back in the 60s.Always liked his game because he could jump and he had that New York style. He was from Brooklyn New York.Watching this though he kind of reminds me of Gordon Hayward.Too bad Hayward has had all the injury issues. He was a star.
Yeah but you can tell this dude can honey dip off straight vert. If he played today he’d be like a rebounding Zion, minus the power. But he looks equally explosive in terms of jumping ability,

Bro I came to see his highlights too for that very reason 🤣🤣🤣 he was smoking me, I was like "yo who tf is this?"
I’m just tryna figure out why he dunking on me like this lmaooo
Exact same sentiments. Where the bangouts here, like he dunked on my guys' heads. I've seen this man's head ABOVE the rim in 2K lol
bruh literally
In 2k, Billy C is as great of a dunker as he was a coach and player. Absolute assassin and hops when playing with the Sixers online.

Lol I found out about him by mistake looking up Bill Russell's stats
Rick Barry was also All-NBA and All-ABA in multiple seasons.
@@trapezemusic
Thanks for the précision. I completely forgot about that legend!
@@david.tousignant20 Glad I could help.
A carrier of the team too, in the 70s with Hondo on the Celtics.
He proceeded to support the 76ers as a great coach too with his 80s run.

One the best small forwards of all time
Billy Cunningham is also the winningest coach in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers and has one NBA Championship as a player and one as a coach.

Great video!!!!!
Here because Barkley said Cunningham was the best coach he ever played for.
There's just something about the greats of the game.
Somehow, an instrumental version of “Gypsy” makes a good highlight theme
Bro he got all hall of fame finishing badges and I ain’t see him dunk once in this video
I think it’s because the NBA is so different today, that they just tried to translate it to what he would be like in today’s game

@@reggiebanksrb10 Yeah the man could jump. Unsuspecting like Jerry West's athletics prowess, but well deserved dunking package in NBA2k.
He could get up though. They didn't do a lot of dunking back then. It was considered showing off.
he is a dunker like Blake Griffin in NBA2K 😅
im here after he drops 17 rebounds on me on 2k like wtf is this
So this dude that made top 75
Right Klay was Robbed
@@slime4656 😂
He already made the top 50 in 1996. That’s why. All of the top 50 players were selected to the top 75.
He'd light up this era
@@zombievikinggaming4258 no one from the 60s will light up this era why do y’all always say that stupid shit
He plays like chris mullin, both from Brooklyn lol🤣
J E not even close. Lol billy was a versatile slashing forward who played bigger than his size
Yeah I can see the similarity. Cunningham was more athletic but Chris Mullin was official for sure. He use to light people up.
reggie miller wasn't as elite as star billy cunningham
Reggie could shoot better but Cunningham was an athletic stud.
@@ralphgreenwood2469 you make sense and please tell me UNLESS you don't want to who you still consider the better player
