I caught the end of Big Perk's career. He was a big part of the Pacers bench when they made the finals in 2000. That Travis Best, Austin Croshere, and Perkins bench was lethal and criminally underrated during their run to the finals. Perk had a few big moments in the 2000 playoffs despite being 39 years old.
As an old Sonics fan I loved Big S. The original 3 point shooting big man, before it became popular. And that stroke! If melted chocolate and marshmallows were a 3 point shot, this is how they'd look.
The "proto-Robert Horry", ha! Still ticked my Lakers traded him for a young "undercooked" Doug Christie and veteran big man scrub Benoit Benjamin back in the day, he was one of the main glue guys on the team at the time and a proven postseason performer as well. Kept them from getting swept outright by the Jordan/Pippen/Grant Bulls during the '91 Finals, too... >;-)
Sam Perkins would be such a great player in today's NBA.
easy 20 and 10 guy
Sam is one of the best big men can post up,stretch the defense with long range shooting . He always seem laid back calm, rarely emotional.
Just like the opposite of Rasheed Wallace.
“Laid back” aka looking super stoned all the time just draining 3’s! Sam “Sleepy” Perkins. He earned that nickname!
He was way before his time

One of my favorite players...Big Smooth
Dope video!
The original Big Perk!
Very Underrated!!!!
Perk Dawg!!!!!!
Sam Perkins was the original stretch five
He the original stretch four. He also score in the paint as well
A Rocket killer. Lord he would literally jump a half inch off the ground and make 3s. It used to bug the sh*t out of me lol
He can play in today's NBA
The best Seattle team ever had him in the center. Man they were fun to watch. 😊
He should have played at least one All Star game!
he can shoot 3pt..in 90s..
Honestly his jump shot is just as smooth as Ken Griffey Jr's swing. Just so smooth. One of my old school favorites.

Well said! Doug just wasn't ready to be a good starter in the NBA, I agree!
I'm sure the lakers thought he was on the decline as he miraculously became a 3pt bomber the moment he left them when he seldom shot any previously.
@@veoshock3792 into the early 2000s when he became a Kings player
came here after James Worthy’s interview
Carl Anthony Towns needs to be schooled.
Wow he use to shoot so many 3 back then
Who's here after watching Carl Towns say he modeled his game after Sam Perkins?
Ahead of his time
He put lefts on the map
Dirk before dirk lol a 7 footer hitting 3 point shots like a guard.
I think he has dunked only one time in his whole carrier. Sad for an 6ft 9.5” man.
How's that possible, ive seen him dunked twice in this highlights.
Dude was one of the best clutch shooters of the 90s though....
Chris Burns thanks for giving my family his props
Just isn't true
Someone always gotta be 'that guy' don't they?
