I wanted one since I knew they were bringing them in. I ordered one and recieved a swp45 as well. Excellent bore and quite a few visible waffens intact. Their one of the neater guns they're bringing in imo. Keep doing the lords work and fantastic video!
@@tfusilier44 I have a 1937 S/237 K98 that was reworked with mostly new parts from the Konigsberg depot in Germany during WW2. Stock is a cupped BYF that was force matched. The moment I found the extractor was broken was when checcking headspace and the gauge stayed. Found a unmarked extractor in almost the same condition and replaced it.
So that crack is consistent with the recoil lug setback on that rifle. That type of crack on a Mauser is from the receiver slamming back too far in the rear.
Awesome video! I got burned a while back on an Ethiopian k98k, cracked stock, smooth bore, missing small parts(mostly screws), etc etc. but it’s nice to see some good examples out there. Question: Is it possible to see a Finnish mosin nagant video in the future?
@@tfusilier44 it did thank you! I went for the standard pick. May I ask, did you boil the receiver and barrel, or just the smaller metal pieces? I'm anticipating a big clean up job for this.
Hopefully they go on sale, I would say the current price of the Czech Contract K98s are a tad high but the discount for the cracked stock was worth it.
@TFusilier44 - I ended up getting one of these Czech Ethiopian Contract K98ks. Its marked swp45 as well and sports Czech Rampart Lions, a shield with dot 11, and a couple non-Nazi Eagle Waffenamt 63 marks. Do you know if the Waffenamt indicates left over German acceptance receivers & barrels? The barrel is marked "KF1" while yours seemed to be marked just K?
Looks like they did wire wheeled it. They got my Label too. RTI really needs to knock that off. Let us be the Jude of what needs to be done to conserve our weapons.

Glad you got a good one. The bore on mine is fair, probably too worn to shoot accurately but definitely an interesting rifle.
i never get bored of these, these vids are like meditation, zen time. great work.
Thanks for watching!
Chances are with the extractor that some hot steel case was put thru that rifle and broke some of the metal off that holds onto the head of case.
Possible, especially with the damage to the stock as well.

Thanks for watching. If I can find one ill definitely post a video up on it.
Another great video...good to know on the difference in the stocks.
Thanks!
Just ordered one of these myself, hopefully it is not too effed up haha. Nice video man
Thanks! Hope it helped you in making the final decision on buying one.

@@Outpolecat5278 just the smaller parts.
@TFusilier44 Thanks for posting this - I'm still on the fence. Has the same bugs as the Enfield I got from RTI.

Ive been interested in snagging one of these, think I might go with the hand select option now.
Probably worth it in my opinion
What ARE those bugs on all the Ethopian imports? Every time you see 'em.
Not sure, but luckily they arent alive or seem to eat wood so less of a concern on my end.

Many of these use leftover wartime parts. Including sights, barrels, barrel bands, etc.
Would like to see a video on the stock repair
I plan to do something for that in the future. I'll have a few more projects to tackle first.
@@tfusilier44 beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it. I have a M95 carbine that I need to fix it has a crack at the tang after shooting it .

Yeah its really unfortunate.
Did you get a matching bolt?
Nope, bolt and reciever don't match.
What black magic is this? A 20 minute video??
Lots of dirty parts on this one!
