The way it’s shot and edited makes it look/feel like I’m watching a Netflix TV show. I know you must put in an untold amount of time in for your fans, it shows in the quality. The 400 ex is still to this day one of my favorite quads every produced . Everything about them i just really love the machine for a 99 in 2022 it still ages well.
What an awesome idea. I will say I'm a bit disappointed from the lack of anti seize in this video. Jokes aside, I can't wait to see how things end up playing out in the future videos of the different style races. Man we need more of these honesty. You put so much work into all of your videos but I think it shows more in these top quads I mean the trail, the bikes, the recording all of it shows for this video mike keep up the good work buddy
It's easier to make something slow go as fast as it can go than to limit something fast to what the conditions allow. There is allot of rider skill in that 10 second faster lap time but a stockish 400ex is a force to be reckoned with on a tight trail.
Mike never disappoints with an amazing video, that being said, Mike, I’ve been on this channel forever, so I say this with much respect and admiration, your riding position definitely hurts your times, scoot up on that tank and get the front end down and back wheels working for you! Tyrese is a big dude but his rider position is very well balanced
Gotta say Mike, your content is better then tv shows. Iv been in the atv world for 20 years and I’m always learning things to improve riding, wrenching etc. Your videos are informative, funny and kick ass! Keep it up man!!
I will say this . I am 54 years old. I only ride one modle of ATV all my life. But I've never seen a set of taillights yet. I usually summer time on trails and rural roads used for snowmobiles in the winter. I ride a 2003 yamaha banshee. Bored 0.30, 36 carbs, cool head, Duncan clutch assm, ported and polished exhaust porting.... (cant tell all my secrets though). I'm a lil overweight (5'9", 200#).
I really think you did a great job on this. Also I think letting the guys show their personalities, goofing around farting whatever all of it makes the video that much better

I used to have a 07 the guy I bought it from used to race it professionally and did a lot of work It was nasty Everytime we’d pull up somewhere and I’d crank it up to get it off the trailer heads turned Had the limited edition plastics to I’ve yet to see them again Was like a gun metal grey and burgundy scheme
Give it a name, maybe get a testing ground. Put quads through all the paces like top gear or something. You really got a great channel, keep it up dude! Also a 250r vs 450r if you hadn't already should be in the books!?

Man this was entertaining. You should do this again and have every team with one 4t and one 2t quad. And then roll it a third time with quad/dirt bike teams.
I've had 421 cub banshee and a 2004 ex stock motor and ltr 450 and my times was better on the ex but flat track was banshee..in woods I was almost unbeatable on the 400 ex . Finished better that most of the 450s did ..it's the quad and rider at same time ..I've always been more at home on the 400 compared to the ltr 450 or banshee ..ex is a well rounded quad for me.
That is very true. I wonder if it's the power plant or the chassis that makes it so well rounded (or both). Like a 450 chassis with a 400EX engine... would that be great? Don't know.

I still ride a 94 Yamaha 350 warrior. woods riding like your track, I can keep up to 450s with twice the power all day long. In tight technical woods riding power is not that important, but in the sand dunes the little 350 can’t even compete with bigger bikes.

I really wanted to bring that and put it up against the 700! I have the upgraded trans, it kind of went to the back burner with the restomod banshee project getting bumped to the front.

Oh man, so many things to say right now. I’ve been saying for a VERY long time that the skill of the rider is more important than what machine somebody rides. A 400EX on paper should get SPANKED by any 450 ever made. Pete is one of the most skilled RUclips riders that I’ve come across. It was good to put him on the 400EX because he proved my point. Put a novice in a fast machine and he is still a novice, hand a skilled rider a mediocre machine and watch him turn that machine into a weapon.

I feel like it’s a bit of both but with clutch work and throttle control and weight proportionating I think the odds are decent
I also feel like you could thor the corners a bit harder and faster but I’m still young I bounce a bit better
One machine to be a good comparison to the kfx 450 is the Suzuki LTR 450
