I think it’s pretty logical, instead of selling the idea of your mc being shipped with a character, by shipping 2 different characters, you get to make 2 characters sales rise up, so perhaps a new strategy?

A fellow Japanese voice player. Somehow it seems like that's very rare... Or maybe it's just rare that people streaming/uploading videos use Japanese voice.
yeah most popular streamers and clip uploaders play in en.
I use JP or source normally, but EN in this game is just actually insanely good. Even side or story specific characters often give genuinely banger performances that add to their role beyond just the written script. And it seems to fit the urban vibes really well too, it just feels most natural. It was kinda surprising, since like for genshin i dont really like EN comparatively and it feels some chars dont capture the essence as well, i assume just because for anime trope chars there are VAs in JP that have tons and tons of experience with. Like Nahida's VA is very good at filling the role Nahida does, and while the EN version is fine it just doesn't have that same flare imo. The subtle stuff adds up.
while its not surprising that en content creator is using en dub,
the en dub in this game is really exceptional
i usually use jp dub in my gacha games, i use en dub for this game only, idk why but i feel like en dub is better suited for this game
idk, i think it has to do with the energy of character, the en va i feel like they had more 'exaggeration'(?) in their voice, which fit very well with the exaggerated animation this game had
look how different EN Billy and JP Billy feel, EN Billy nailed that 'tokusatsu fans' energy so much better

lmao it's the same terrible EN dubbers as anything else. I show my mom a clip that happened to use EN dub and she was like "damn, that acting is bad." The only way you could think it's good is if you grew up listening to terrible EN dub performances.

This shows the difference between amateurs vs professional voice actors, if there are JP voice acting available, I will always pick it 10x out of 10.
As new va, she do a great job
ZZZ character animations may be great during fights or cutscenes, but the JP voice-overs are equally as 'animated' during dialogues.

@@ginro6796not to be one of those "English bad" guys, but the English VO for this game is... Not the best. At least in my opinion. Some characters just don't feel right. Like Qingyi here is a great example. That would also make sense since this is an anime game, and a lot of anime tropes don't have direct counterparts for western media.
@@FrenchDinosaur I don't really hate English voice acting in general, but with it, how should I say... Is it just a bunch of problems? The voice actors change more often than we would like. Many cultural and other subtleties are simply ignored and not transmitted in any way in the English dubbing. Actually, as you said, Qingyi is a great example of this. And by the way, I am very glad to meet someone who also notices this, because a typical Western player simply does not care about this.

Playing a Chinese game that reads out in English. Ok, that's fine. But the weeb has to use Japanese voices just because he can't do anything without his life sounding like an anime. Why not use the Chinese voices?
