- Just three weeks before the first terrorist attack on the Tube, London Underground carried out its annual major training exercise to test the capabilities of all the emergency services if a serious incident were to occur. The annual London underground gardening competition also takes place putting the gardening skills of the stations against each other.
For the first time in its history, London Underground has opened its doors to record the day-to-day life of its 16,500 staff who work across a network of 275 stations and 507 trains running on over 300 miles of track. Every year more than one billion people use The Tube that's 3 million journeys a day; commuters, holiday-makers, day-trippers, businessmen and women, students, overseas visitors.
This series goes behind the scenes to tell the story of some of the dedicated and colourful characters who work for LU, doing a difficult job under often challenging and stressful circumstances.

I don't know why I find a show about the British underground so fun. Am I boring?
You ain't the only one!
It might because there is always something happening on the tube
Well Yes But Actually No
No.
No. I've been trying to find shows about the New York City subway. I live about 2 hours west of NYC and I have ridden that subway many times.
The intro to this and music reminds me of a video you’re forced to watch at school or work and you’re just sat there bored thinking well at least we’re at the video part of the presentation.
PCthesecond you took me back to primary school reading your comment for a second 😅😂😂
Lol
Twiglet prrstytstshfhf
I actually really like the music in this and emailed the guy who made it 😂
2:05 I love how the guy getting off the truck bumps into the other guy's face
You know, I reckon it would be amazing if we could revive this show and have Geoff Marshall and Vicki Pipe, be a part of it. How good would that be? 😁
The Sons of Epsilon This show was filmed in the mid 2000’s before Geoff and Vicki were RUclipsrs. Can’t you not see the quality and also the RUclips channel that uploaded this did not make this show They just brought the rights to it. Some people are so daft
Limee Gaming
I'm fully aware of that. You're completely missing my point. My suggestion was of a revival of this show with said people. It's absolutely possible to do. Not likely, but possible.
The Sons of Epsilon Ok sorry my mistake sorry for calling you daft
Actually I believe Geoff was in one of the episodes. I don't remember which one exactly.

No, you're not boring.😀 I LOVE these episodes. I'm literally addicted to
"news/info" shows anyway. Keep doing what you're doing. I sure am!!😉
7:18 is how I look and feel after a night out
Only a few weeks after this 7/7 happened
That’s deep
the time between being like the calm before the storm
Hold up, so the ERU doesn’t even have any blue lights, or sirens?
How do they expect them to arrive quickly to an emergency incident without having to wait for a police escort?
Its because of all the extra hassle registering a vehicle as an emergency service vehicle with the DVLA, plus all the extra training involved. (You need to get your blues and too’s certificate which can take some time, plus it costs a lot of money to train someone), in the end it just isn’t worth it. My sister used to work for the MET and she wasn’t even blues and too’s trained. They train the bare minimum.
They could put coloured flashing lights other than blue or green (eg yellow) to show the importance (kind of like Doctor’s cars with green lights) but they can’t break any speed limits or rules, plus people don’t have to move out of the way for you. But most likely if it was really serious, like you said, they will get a police escort
Since the video was made and as a result of inquiries of the 7/7 bombings, some ERU response units now fall under the purview of the BTP. Easier to assign a BTP officer and slap BTP livery onto vehicles than going thru the hassle of going thru the registration process with certifying the ERU staff for Emergency Service Driving. www.ukemergency.co.uk/wx07-nwb-this-mercedes-truck-is-marked-in-british-transport-police-livery/
Thats why they respond so slowly and more people die
As has been said this has been changed now.
That drill was way too calm. It needed more screaming, maybe some fake blood, a fog machine (for smoke), way more noise than what's going on. Passengers aren't going to be that calm and quiet, and it would be a lot more hectic.
The victims are volunteer members of the public not trained actors, they do their best to act as they think they will in the situation, if the scenario involved a fire then i am sure a different set up would have been done, this one did not, i aggree with you on the noise levels, also this was edited so its possible that some of the volunteers panic was removed.
Bitter Gay Man a lot of the time, certain people (regular civilians) will help people by taking a lead and encourage people to walk slow, single file
It is impossible to fully recreate a disaster but I think this is more about getting everyone to drill reporting in, finding problems, and fixing them.
RIP Mohammed Jamil he died 2017
I guess the Emergency Response Unit is the same as New York City’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU). Both very elite units.
They are a small amount of highly trained staff so yeah exactly
I love these series I’m sad that it ended its soo interesting
There's been two spiritual successors, and plenty of similar content to keep you entertained
FNLDN yes true
20:37 The guy who yelled into the mic, he's definitely not wrong about BTP
yeah theyr eso underfunded
@@cemops8660 No they just don't do shit
14:39 MY UNCLE IS FAMOUS 😱
The police officers or the ERU guys
@@sebby324 I had the exact same question lol
The ERU is the glue that keeps it all together and are rarely seen
4:38 lmao
What's so funny?
They are playing out a major incedent on the district line and flower inspection on a another part of the tube network
that's the Tube for ya. On side in panic and the other side of customers are like ( 1. These flowers are 10/10. ( 2. Why am i looking at flowers when i need to catch a train to work.
This was really good. Revealing things that happen that you know nothing about.
4:37 lol there talking about the EFL/PL Chelsea v Liverpool now
20:37 lmao
Cool
liverpool vs chelsea....... the info mus ghost goal
Bermondsey is my local station
Monty python sketch😂😂
1:19 | The guy on the right is like ‘Why am I here?’
EDIT: Pause at 2:05
I would be like the guy on the right too
9:58 That's what she said
So the underground have there own emergency unit ?
*Muhammad’s trackside garden looks beautiful*
My local station is Ore
Near Brighton your nearest Tube will be Balham if you were near Croydon or Clapham
The staged emergency must be so hard to do without p!ssing yourself laughing while doing it.
7:54 do you seriously not have fig trees in the uk? i live in serbia (yes, in europe) and i literally had a fig tree in my backdoor
to be honest, its really tasty though
You don’t have to say where Serbia is we are not Americans we know where countries are lol
- a Brit
Also we don’t have those trees here
I’m an American and know where the UK and Serbia are as well as what fig trees are. They don’t grow in colder climates so Florida, California, Georgia - yes; Maine, Montana, Washington State - no.
I have lot's off the police do not cross cordon tape
Hmm... nice simulation... but a train hitting the buffers, at any speed..... no-one is going to be standing up and banging on the windows for help? Make it an actual simulation?
Funny how none of the male engineers or drivers when explaining stories are capable of saying her. Its always he.
@@joshbream6736 I don't think he's blaming anything on them mate
... and when they did this exercise, they trained for incident with two busses and a tube train..............EXACTLY THE SAME COMBINATION OF VEHICLES THAT WERE AFFECTED ON 7/7! GO FIGURE!
Andy Gee this was after you idiot, have some respect for the dead and don’t make fake conspiracy theories
@@jamesdavison1786 i was just looking up that now about 2 minutes ago. but why were the CCTV's not working on that day ? why was there a controlled demolition van near the bus that exploded ? the trains from leeds to london was delayed, so how did these guys do this ?
@@jamesdavison1786 YOU SHEEP!
Gencturk92 why would they do it though

Yes it was. It was at tower hill station.

Have you seen how large London is? No? exactly
@@nubbyfrfr I used to work for the ERU based at Stratford depot. Retired now, thank God.
