Hi ITN, I am a very old guy from Germany and I appriciate your reactions to Rammstein songs very much. Believe it or not, I discovered "Rammstein" for me only 2 years ago when I watched the reacting RUclipsrs. Since then I listened to many of their songs and I have at least 20 favorite songs. And you are one of my favorite reactors. You do an awesome job, not only enjoing the great music but also trying to understand what they want do say. Keep on going please!
Its dark …few days ago, here in Slovakia happend exactly something like this. Young student standing on roof of school. And His “friends from school” scream at him…”jump”…and he did. So now this song scares me more😢

Till Lindemann is a master when it comes to Double Entendre. He's a poetic and lyrical genius is how I see him 😍. Some lyrics have come from his own poems...💖
The song can be seen as an symbol for society or even friends and family wanna force u to do something u don't want to, like u just wanted to experience e something but people wanna get u doing it, like a job, or any decision in life u get pushed by people instead of doing anything u want to do and u get the feeling of being duty to execute their wishes and imaginations and like till writes songs it sometimes the meaning the lyrics give to us or ist is just symbolizing the meaning in a poetic story
And people don't even recognize and feel like it's good for u but instead they do the opposite
Of course, as always with Rammstein lyrics, there are many ways for an interpretation, which is one of the beauty of Rammstein lyrics. A thought I have had is that the meaning could be that, from a view of an artist, at some point you are not in full control of what you are doing because of the fans, the media and so on. You are forced to things that you dont want to do because people expect it. And this is for sure the death of an true artist. Good reaction! Greetings from Germany ☺
In my opinion with the song "Donaukinder" one of the best Rammstein songs.
The part where it says "a cloud moves in secret" "in front of the sun it gets cold" to me it could imply that it can only take one person or small thing to bring a public icon down..from being loved to being hated and the fact that even though the sun (public/fans) may be big this one small thing or group of people still manage to block the warmth of the sun or the adoration of the fans.
"But a thousand suns burn just for you" even though you still have thousands and thousands of fans and people who love and adore you..this small group still manages to control you or pressure you into doing or being something your not or never wanted to be.
I always interpreted the line with the thousand suns like, all the people here are only here for you watching you. The suns being the spotlight above you.
Great analysis, as ussual... The song is about the psychological pressure of society that is put on a man that just wants to enjoy life... but the society doesn't want him to be happy, because they aren't... people do tend to make a fuss about nothing most of the time... See, me and my friends once did a social experiment in the center of our town... one of us just stood and pointed to a cloud, a strange looking cloud, and the others acted like bypassers, and stood bu in wonder, pointing to the sky as well... soon enough people started joing in, wondering what we were lookin at... not many joined or asked, but many bypassers stood there looking at nothing :D Keep up the good work, man! :D
Oh and the part that you mentioned you didn't understand, the one about: Redeem me, don't disapoint me... might refer to a man sick in the head that just can't wait to see something like that live... that's why he kicks him off the bridge... he thinks he is not worthy enough to live in this society, therefore: Don't dissapoint me, as in: You came here to jump? Doi it then! Just my analysis, take it or leave it.
There are many good Rammstein songs. Please next Rammstein songs with English translation Donaukinder,Mutter or Hilf Mir. Good concert songs are also live in Paris man against man,Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen,Du Hast or a Tattoo.👍😁
It's also interesting how the band got it's name. You already checked out the song "Rammstein" and at first the band had other names but the song was the most popular and people always said: Look, the guys with the Rammstein song. So they finally chose that name for the band.
It was the name of a bombed town, wasn't it?

he has written two volumes of poetry (Messer / In stillen Nächten). I tihink you can also get them in english!
There is one missing, In 2020 came "100 Gedichte", well almost, because Till handed in 97. As the guy asked him for 3 more, he was only laughing at him and gave him 3 "old once". Why do I know it? I have it as well as "in stillen Nächten". I find "Messer" at the moment only in combination with the second one. Do I love them, hell yeah.

Hi you. Nice reaction. This is one of my favourite songs by them. Till, master of doublemeaning with his beautiful dark lyrics.
Do you realise, in a way every first time listener is becoming part of that crowd he sings about, because you jump to the very same conclusion than the crowd? Imo that is genius. Another thing I love about Till's poetic lyrics is that he uses the sun as a reference of the crowd's hearts. And the darkness symbolised by the cloud shadows the good in people's heart. They feel the lust for sensation.
Of course Till takes it to next level by actually him pushing the man.

I’m not a real fan of Rammstein but they have great lyrics, very strong, provocative
I think they intetionally let you, us think one direction, then the other...
You already reacted to many Rammstein songs but if I got correctly through your video list then there are many outstanding songs still to watch. I would put them into three categories. Old ones which are different from most of the other songs, complex (headache!) songs and pure power songs.

Additionally at least two important members ob Rammstein had serious issues with their mothers who kind of neglected them. Til Lindemann (singer who also writes many texts) and Richard Kruspe (lead guitarist who in my eyes is an ingenious musician and who is mainly responsible for the numerous fantastic songs). As a result they even had trouble in the old system. So you might get an idea why many of their songs are so dark. And why the put in more effort than others to be heard and to be special.

(You want to see the bed in flames?, live), Du hast (You have or You hate, epic song, of course Paris live version), Alter Mann (Old Man, one of the old songs, beautiful lyrics).

"Mutter" (mother) by Rammstein is also a great song and is available with English lyrics. (I think Till wrote about artificial life (clone) very poetically (which he is really good at). You should do more reaction to Rammstein with translated subtitles. The lyrics are usually very deep and often have multiple meanings. A specialty of artists from East Germany, because of the censorship at the time.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to translate the fine nuances (at most explain them) because the language is more complex than English. You can also say something unspeakable without saying it.
And it could be about our sick society where people want strong sensations and have no empathy . It could be many things but it is wicked….
One interpretation is the crowd is like the fans and the man is the artist(public icon) and we as "fans" have an image of what we think this person should be like or we force our thoughts on how they should act. For ex. With Rammstein everyone is like oh crazy Till Lindemann and all that pyro..tyical Rammstein you hear Rammstein you automatically think "FIRE"🔥 and "crazy Till" but what if the pryo wasn't meant to be as big as it is today but the continuation of the fans desire to see more pryro thus they kept using it more and more? Or what if Till Lindemann as time and the years goes by he's not as "crazy" Are we the fans gonna be understanding or get angry and be disappointed?
Seine Reaktion auf den Song hat mir aber schon gut gefallen. Man merkt, dass er sich mit Hilfe der Untertitel auch mit dem Song auseinandersetzt. Das ist hier nicht nur ein sogenanntes Reaction Video, dass nur auf Klicks aus ist, weil Rammstein weltweit nun mal angesagt ist. Tut mir etwas leid, dass er das alles hier nicht verstehen wird. Vielleicht übersetzt Google ja das für ihn.
It's impressing how you try to understand what they do and why they are doing it. I'm not the best insider but I want to share some basic facts which could explain the phenomenon "Rammstein". The band formed in 1994 and all six members are from the former GDR (German Democratic Republic). As a result of World War II Germany was devided into two countries, one of them communistic and associated with the USSR, one of them (FRG, Federal Republic of Germany) capitalistic and part of the "free" Western world. In 1989/90 communism fall, USSR fall, the GDR fall, the Berlin Wall fall and the GDR (smaller and economic inferior) became part of the new Germany. There was great joy but there was also kind of a inferiority feeling of the Eastern Germans as most of the economy was down and had to start all over again with the help of the strong West Germany. So you can imagine that the members of Rammstein had to overcome at least two existential doubts. The doubts when you are a young person trying to find your place in the world and the doubts if you are a fully accepted by all Germans as a so called "Ossi" (Ost = East). This background also explains why Rammstein has so many fans in Russia and other East European countries.
Congratulations, you got the (im my opinion) right idea of the lyrics at a respectable pace. The "erlöse mich" (redeem me) is most probably meant as you stated: the lyrical ego (lyrical first person) may have thoughts about what he's watching and somehow wishes he would do it himself. That could be why he's so desperate that the action really takes place and the man cannot get down the bridge.
It's wicked but that's typical for Till's lyrics.
Oh and let me disclaim: As only Till and maybe the band members know for sure wht it's about there can be other interpretations. When I state this is the meaning it's more like "I - as a German native speaker - think it's the most likely interpretation."
👍Du bist einer der wenigen Reactors, die nicht nur Feuer und Action auf der Bühne sehen wollen. Ok, Rammstein machen immer eine super Show on Stage. Da kommt keine andere Band heran.
Wer aber sich wirklich mit Rammstein auseinandersetzt, kommt an den Song Texten nicht vorbei. So eine Tiefe in der Reaktion auf ihre Texte, wie bei dir, sieht man hier wirklich nur sehr selten.
Danke dafür!! Ein bisschen geht aber leider immer bei der englischen Übersetzung verloren. Trotzdem verstehst du die Grundgedanken der Songs.

Mann o Mann, wie viele deutsche Kommentare hier sind. Natürlich nicht auf Deutsch, logisch. Denn wir sind ein Land der Weltversteher.
Russen zum Beispiel. schreiben auf Russisch um sich und ihre Emotionen auszudrücken, egal ob es der Rest der Welt versteht.
Andere schreiben auf Spanisch oder auch Portugiesisch. Einfach nur um es raus zu lassen. Wir hingegen, erklären der Welt in einer fremden Sprache, wie sie das alles doch zu verstehen sollten. Spezifische Sachen kann man halt nicht einfach mal so übersetzen. Einen Witz kann man auch nur selten, genau so in einer anderen Sprache rüber bringen, ohne das etwas verloren geht.
