Imagine you're sitting in your bedroom after a hard day at school. It's hot and you're tired. You lie down in bed and whip out your laptop, searching for some good quality content on RUclips. You see an intriguing video that looks cool called "Adorable - Homeboy" and you immerse yourself in the music and the amazing groove. "Hmmm, the drummer looks a bit familiar" you mutter but you think nothing more of it. That is, until you remember your Secondary School head teacher was a drummer in a 90s band called Adorable.
I remember this used to play at all the underground clubs back in those days. The atmosphere always became magical when it came on. I remember those moments as if it was yesterday.
Adorable, Seam and Monsterland... all three rather unknown bands had one first album in the first half of the 90s I listend about a million times to. All heard first time in MTVs "120 minutes". This guitar sounds... just amazing. So no... there are a few folks who listened to them... and still do :)
This may be the song that have one of the most powerful emotional impact on me; the back and forth from meditative mood and the release of fury is great. Remember buying this along with first Suede album in the 90.
I'm tripping into the back of my mind And your words like angels crash inside And a word and a movement and a touch And a word and a movement and it's all too much It's all too much I never understood what it meant to be I never understood what it meant to be misunderstood And even if I did, I don't think I'd care less And even if I did, I don't think I'd care less You're so beautiful You're so beautiful You're so beautiful I want to drown beneath the waves I want to dig myself a shallow grave And hold you up for all to see I want to cut you up, I want to watch you bleed, ever so slowly You're so beautiful You're so beautiful You're so beautiful You're so beautiful I can't follow what I don't believe in I can't follow what I don't believe in And that's why there's nothing left of me Cause I don't believe in you You're so beautiful You're so beautiful You're so beautiful You're so beautiful Doo-doo-doo-doo, you're my homeboy, you're my homeboy Doo-doo-doo-doo, you're my homeboy, you're my homeboy Beautiful Oh God, you're so beautiful

why the actual fuck isn't this one Spotify. I've checked steadily every few months for as many years as Spotify been a thing. Why this band so overlooked?
oh, 3 years ago... too bad. the song is basically a gay anthem, it talks about how the author doesn't understand why homosexual love is perceived differently than a love between a man and a woman.
@@Lepotadneva That's not true at all. I've read an interview with the singer yesterday. He said he doesn't know what the song is about. The lyrics are just lines from lots of different songs he wrote but didn't use, that he just stuck together. But the song lyrics don't really have a meaning.
@@Wout.vlmnck well, thank you for that, I didn't know what the song talks about, different opinions from different people pointied out this so I was thinking that it can be about religion or homosexuality, similar things, anyway, now I know this song is just simply a song and enjoy it !

The English wall of sound of the 90s, Lush, Curve........
I miss that sound, period.
Word!
You're not the only one.
"The band that got away"
I wish I had been able to see Adorable live at least once.
When the entire dance floor would yell "...EVER SO SLOWLY!!!" The best times. Love this band still ♥
I never understood why Adorable never made it with one of the best debut albums I have ever listened. Wish I ever had the chance to see them live. :(
+dan theman And also because they were arrongant pricks; Was so disappointed when I saw them live back then;
Sad for you. I saw them life too. What a great show. I can still hear "Homeboy" wall of sound ...
Because shoegaze was thing of the past in 1993. Sadly. They were too late.
You can see them. They will do two gigs in October
Playing live in Yorkshire this October.
I remember this used to play at all the underground clubs back in those days. The atmosphere always became magical when it came on. I remember those moments as if it was yesterday.
Rediscovering these legendary bands from many years ago when I was in my twenties makes me excited like I had to go on a first date 😂
Against Perfection is one of my favourite albums of all times and definately the best from the 90ties.
F*cking awesome!
This kind of indie music still the best from the 90's even best of music from our present days.
most underrated band of the world
This song was a nightclub hit when I was a teen back in the 90's, everyone would dance there ass off when this song was played, absolute classic
Adorable was ahead of its time. They need to relaunch now and will be massive.
I saw them all. Lush, (early) Blur, Ride, Adorable, etc Shoegaze Heaven
i hate the fact that no one knows about this band and album, but i lived my early highschool days listening to this :(
I know
I listened to the entire record backwards and forwards for days on end
Filipomnomnom it rocks with poetry
Filipomnomnom I agree with you. One of the greats that not a lot of people talked about.

One of the best songs of the 90s
Bass Line!!!!!!

Tool like Bass line 🎉
90s...This song brings back great memories. Brit scene will never be the same without the vision of the original Creation Records.

Desde la primera vez que los escuche, jamas deje de escucharlos, su sonido me dejo perplejo, gracias Adorable!!!

Vocally the first line is very similar to the first line of Wave of Mutilation by Pixies. I wonder which came first?
