The Circle movie is already out in Sweden, and it's really good! They have cut a lot of things from the book, understandably though, it is a big book, but it still works perfectly. The acting was great on every part and the characters were just how I imagined them. Another plus was also the music. Both the soundtrack and the original score gave me chills. I highly recomend it!

I watched the trailer for Serena and I can't believe I haven't heard anything about it yet! Usually Jennifer Lawrence films are so popular! I am so looking forward to Paper Towns, it is one of my favourite John Green book to :)

I was kind of shocked hearing you talking about the circle!! The books are really worth reading, with relatable and interesting characters in a perfect mixture of a young adult book and fantasy. The movie is out here in Sweden, and it is not decided yet if it's going to be released in other countries, we'll see!

The Circle has a beautiful cover! I love stories about witches. I don't usually watch the movies when they're released. Twilight was ruined for me. I enjoyed the books (before the hype) but in my mind the characters looked so different. Now I can't help but picture the movie characters. The only movies I do watch are The Hunger Games and Harry Potter.

As people have already said, The Circle is out in Swedish cinemas now. It's gotten really amazing reviews from most sources. It's really beautiful, and even though there are a lot of changes, they were all made for valid reasons and it works beautifully. Nicolaus and Mona aren't in the movie, which is sad, but to be honest it would've gotten too crowded. There are So Many Characters.
It has an amazing soundtrack, and a beautiful score by Benny Andersson. The cinematography is wonderful, and the feeling from the book is really there.
I've made my whole family watch it (partially because I'm an extra and am visible for three whole seconds) to up the numbers a bit.
One of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen, truly.

I saw the circle last week and it was really good, but they had changed quite a lot from the book. I think they showed the movie at Berlin's film festival a couple of weeks ago. It was produced by Benny Andersson from ABBA which is pretty cool.

Serena came out in the UK in November and is long gone in cinemas, it's just come out in the US but the film was completed ages ago and was shelved because the studio didn't know when it would do best in theatres. It was finished even before J Law and Bradley Cooper started filming American Hustle which was released over a year ago!

I read Serena last year. It's about a newlywed couple who are trying to build a timber empire. The writing reminds me a lot of Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. It's very dramatic, but the writing style is very intricate and almost subtle with what could have been very intense moments. I wonder how similar the movie is..

I agree about the Thomas Hardy books. I fell in love with Tess of the D'Urbervilles after I saw the BBC miniserie (like 3 years ago) and I bought copy of the book the read, but I never did. However, because I love the story so much, I picked a new copy and I started reading it 1,5 week ago and I'm almost halfway. Now I normally read quite fast and a lot, but with this book I find it hard to keep on reading.. I do like it, but, in my opinion, it is hard to read.

Serena debuted at the London Film Festival around the time The Maze Runner came out! I saw The Maze Runner at the Odeon in Leicester Square and then the next day Jennifer Lawrence was at the same cinema for the premiere... I don't think anything in my life will ever be as upsetting as that fact.

Aww, don't diss Thomas Hardy! He's amazing. I really love his books. They definitely are not modern teen page-turners, but you really have to just fall in to his prose and let it carry you away on a sea of description. His book Jude the Obscure is one of my all time favorites. Sue is a pre-feminist and I just want to write her a letter explaining how the world has changed.

I had to read Far from the Madding Crowd for school and I rather liked it! I didn't find it too difficult to read (one of the easiest ones we got, certainly easier than To Kill a Mockingbird to understand and less of a drag than The Mill on the Floss), mind you I think I would have probably enjoyed it more if I hadn't had to write an essay about it every two weeks for four months at which point a film would have been a God send, but I look forward to seeing it now :P

I think that sometimes watching the movies first is a good choice because when you read the book you get more detail and more story sometimes and if you read the books then watch the movie you are disappointed by the lack of detail sometimes, but in book to movie things sometimes the movies give you other peoples point of view like in the hunger games you see president snow talking and overseeing the games more than the book and stuff like that.

Paper Towns is my favourite book of Johns, but I get kind of worried around the movies (but I outweigh that by thinking instead of his incredible success and that is fantastic). Don't read Allegiant! (or do). I hated it and thought the characters made decisions outside of their normal characterizations and the backstory for WHY the factions were created felt rushed and kind of a letdown. And then there's the end, which didn't make sense. Some people love the ending, and I would if the decision were made in the best interest of the story, but I felt like it was done just to do it. Eh. I wish I'd stopped after Divergent.

Have you heard anything about Suite Francaise? It was my most highly anticipated film of 2015, but I haven't found anything on the plans to release it..?

I want to see Serena because J. Law and Bradley Cooper are in it, but I read the book a few years ago and I did not like it. The Circle sounds right up my alley- I love witchy stories.

It's such a shame that the Serena film is getting such poor reviews -- I quite enjoyed the book and now I'm afraid to go see the film... has anyone read/seen both that could tell me if I should even bother?

I think the trailer for Serena is out but I have no idea if it has been released here in the US or when it will be if it hasn't. It is one of those books for me where I read the back and thought "I think this is one of the few books I will like better as a film" so i'm not planning to read it. I have Insurgent in a giveaway pile because I want to donate it but I am holding onto it until the film comes out because i'm debating rereading it one last time but i am conflicted because based on the trailer I feel like if I reread it now I will be too critical of the film. Far From the Madding Crowd was my first Hardy and i read it last November and completely loved it! It is now one of my top classics. I am really looking forward to the new adaptation and also highly recommend the 90s one with Nathaniel Parker-it was so good! supposedly the 60s one with Julie Christie was also amazing but i have yet to see that one. I hope you love the book! PS your hairband is great looking!

I've read Serena, and it was slow and creeping and absolutely incredible (at least in my opinion). Unfortunately, the review of the film seem to indicate that it was edited terribly and wound up a terrible movie. It spent two years in post-production, and apparently things wound up going very wrong during that time. I'd recommend just reading the book. But again, that's my opinion! Just wanted to share what I'd heard.

oh thanks, that makes me really sad cuz i love when bradley cooper and jennifer lawrence pair up. The same thing happened with jupiter ascending though where it could've been a great movie but then everything went wrong and i saw it anyway and ended up very disappointed so maybe i will just skip this one :( As for the book, it kind of seemed like it might be too creepy for me :(

It's definitely a creepy book, but not in a horror movie kind of way. I guess Gone Girl or Gillian Flynn's other books are a decent comparison for the kind of creepy it is? Everything is very slow and creeping, and sometimes you read a part and continue on, only to return to the first part thinking "What the heck just happened?" The pace seems to reflect the methods of the antagonist, which is one of the reasons I really enjoyed it. But I can fully understand it being too creepy for you! We've all got lines drawn somewhere.

Serena is supposed to be released here in the US in March. I read it last year. I found the characters to be vile…I needed a shower after reading it.

I thought the complete opposite about The Divergent Trilogy, I actually liked Insurgent better than Divergent!

Ik heb geen verstand van uiterlijk en make-up en houd medstal mijn mond, maar ik moet even kwijt: I love your skin-tone (?) In this video!
Mag ik zeggen dat je in veel videos heel bleek lijkt?
Sorry als het bot overkomt, het is vooral bedoelt als compliment en een beetje als feedback.
    Groetjes!
