I just had to tap back to this video to say this rec was everything! Usually I don’t read YA but you sold me with this video and the interview, and now that I’m reading the first book I’m already happy to say this is going to be a new favorite! Absolutely pumped to see what other book recommendations you have planned with this video series!!
I just finished the trilogy and I wanted to listen to people talking about it that’s how I ended up here and I’m so glad I did! I didn’t know about Gleanings and I want it IMMEDIATELY
I had already read all the books before i found your video but this definitely motivated me to reread them :) I never really thought about how Scythe goes in the other direction about society trying to control its population; it made me realize how in most books its either completely randomized, or like an elimination process based on abilities like intelligence. But in Scythe, they have other people choose who to kill without bias, based on their own morals and ideologies, essentially making it the most human way to kill. It reminds me of the first book of Unwind where Connor says that hed rather be killed than dismembered by cool indifference. I wonder how hed feel about the world of Scythe. Thank you so much for this amazing video ❤
This book is awesome one of my favorite books aof all time, maybe even my most favorite. But.. I've heard from some people that they don't like the chemistry between Citra and Rowan, though it is one of my motivations to keep reading the book. If it wasn't in the book, the book could get a little cold, but it saved it and I love it
At first I thought the relationship was a little out of place until I kept reading and realized that it helped humanize Citra and Rowan I just now realized it also makes what happens to Rowan more impactful
I just bought the first book of this series in a Black Friday sale! I’ve been curious about it for ages, and this video made me even more excited to start reading it 😍
I wasn’t sure if this series would be for me but now that I know it isn’t heavy on the romance I am really eager to start!! Would love to see your points on the Grishaverse ☀️
It’s not heavy on the romance but every few pages you get the characters randomly pinning for each other when they have zero chemistry (not even as friends) so it feels so cringey to read I’m getting second hand embarrassment
As a side note, the audiobooks are some of my favourites. Definitely worth a listen if you have some audible credits saved up. Also I have no idea how anyone can not read the third book after that cliffhanger at the end of book 2 😂
@@booksandquills Oh right, I think you are in Netherlands? In NYC, the library had Banned Books Week and gave out free copies of Scythe and other books. It may be the book was challenged but not enacted. Luckily I read the first three books in a month and a half. Absolute page turner!
I’m sorry but no. This is my own personal opinion but I’m gonna say it. Scythe is a waste of time. It’s dull, it’s bland, it doesn’t even feel YA or dystopia. It’s full of plot holes, cliche twists that everyone saw coming. Some tropes include: insta love, forced relationships with zero chemistry, and inconsistent world building to fit the plot. The book is extremely boring, going at a snail’s pace. DNF’ed.

Amazing timing!!
Oh my gooood, I'm beyond jealous! I love Neal Shusterman to death. He's the absolute best and Scythe is a masterpiece. 💗

I just finished it yesterday and I am shook! Wow! It was just… have no words so I am glad you do! Read it!!
I just started book three! I've finished the first two in the past week. I couldn't put them down! I'm obsessed! 😊
Very quickly added this to my library holds. I really love the concept of this new video series, excited for the next one! :)
This is my favourite series!! Absolutely love this world and can't wait to read Gleanings superrrr excited✨️🙃 Loved the video!!
Love your interviews, Sanne! ❤
I absolutely love this series. Thanks!
I got the arc of sythe on audible and I was amazing
I read the first two a few years ago, I didn't even know that the last one had already been published.
It so easy for that to happen when you start reading while they're still being published!
I’ve had the first book for YEARS and haven’t read it yet. 😬 I’m going to read it in 2023!
👀 Haha, hope you enjoy!
Did you like it?

I was wondering what they're like, great to have the recommendation!
When was there a fourth
Honestly everyone needs to pick up this series. IT'S SO GOOD
My friend spend 500k on books alone that he love or interested to read he needs another room to store
That's a banned book so of course we have to read it ;)
Oh interesting! Has it been banned at a specific school?

You meant to say utopia
