The Infiniti G35/V35 Skyline has more in common with the R chassis that proceeded it than people think. The R30/31/32/33/34 were all basically comfortable 6-cylinder cruisers, each with a GT-R or GTS-T hot version. And if you look at models as old as the R30, you'll see just how normal the Skyline really was. People who say the V35 isn't a real Skyline don't know what a Skyline is supposed to be.
Buddy just sold me one. It's a beast. A few body issues, but he and his whole family run crazy AWD cars. Hes a licenced mechanic, and went through this one like his life depended on it. I frickin LOVE this car.
Jp W U know its skyline brended and its right sided from japan (Tho I Live in Georgia Tbilisi we have car paradise here u can buy car 2 or 3 times cheaper than other countrys check www.myauto.ge and u will be amazed)
Desmond Hebert the car had many issues that were going to cost me a lot more than what I paid for the car . I really like the tiburon its a v6 as well.
i had a 03" tiburon. thing was trash, engine had lots of power but the suspension and everything else was absolute trash, would go through wheel bearing's every 3 months, swear i replaced them 6 times within the 2 years of owning it. and then everything started breaking, window motors. door locks, trunk. thing was poop.
The G35 Sedan, also known as an XVL Concept, it was unveiled as a concept at the Tokyo Auto Show in 1999. Also it was designed in 1998 by the same guy who also designed the Nissan R35 GTR.
actually they rebranded to give them a better marketing and selling point. they followed BMW's and Audis sport line series such as BMW's M-series and Audis S-series. Nissan made the G-series. instead of marketing It as a Nissan Skyline 350GT they made it short and class Infiniti G35
Did you guys know that the AWD system on G35x's (and G37x's) is the Nissan ATTESA system, which is very similar to the AWD system the Skyline GTR had? The significant difference was that the 4 wheel sensors scanned each wheel's rotation at 10x/second, as opposed to the R32 GTR's 100-1,000x/second (I think 10,000x/second for the R35GTR). But it still does the 50/50 torque split upon initial accelerarion, and goes to 100% rwd during constant speed, and will send up to 50% of power to the front wheels if you get on the throttle again. If you have the snow mode, it can do a full time 50/50 torque split, along with reducing torque for less possibility of slipping. I've had a g35x, and man could that thing pull. Best awd system in the snow, even with half the tread on the old summer tires I had.
rapid13 Well I wouldn't necessarily do that for the reason that it might damage, or wear down the front differential/driveshaft/transfer case a lot faster. Remember, the G35x is not a full-time AWD vehicle. The front wheels only engage during acceleration, and slippage. I would imagine leaving it in full time AWD would cause a lot of stress during higher speeds. Also, deterred throttle responses can cause bad fuel economy. I only used mines for when it snowed heavily up in TN, and sometimes when it rained hard (I lived in a house with a grass hill for a driveway). Plus, the manual does say specifically not to do that lol
correction: as an alumni of the Nissan program, to add to the difference between the rwd vq and the fwd vq, the pistons on the Z are balanced to each cylinder (it's been years since I took the classes so forgive me if I can fully describe the differences in depth).
Getting an 03 G35 Sedán, blue, 101,000 miles. Price was $6995 but I know the dealership owner personally and he dropped the price to $4800 unbelievably great deal
all the other 3.5L Nissans in the era of the G35 coupe did have the same engine but made different kinds of power due to have different intake manifolds. you'll only find that the 350z's and G35s are the only Nissan/Infiniti with the same exact motor to the T
just bought a 2004 g35 coupe with 58k for $2800. salvaged but rear mounted sts turbo with 14psi atm. dude was getting rid of it cause it was his sons car and he was locked up lo. he said it had a turbo problem" took it home, checked the exhaust for leaks and such. found out the air filter was just so gunked up for the turbo.. early 400s to the wheels. this shits scary quick!
@dnali I like the driving, Nissan skyline 350gt it is ;) I didnt know the G35c was a "test platform" for the R35. Another thing lots of people are confused about is: 03-04 6MT dont have Rev-up motors, only 05-07 6MT .
Agreed and it's funny and hurt my feeling when you said maxima and Altima but yes back in Japan back in the day the Nissan Maxima engine assembly seats another g35 engine it's just how it is back then and gtr of course. And it's fun to have a sedan rather you than coupe because of a lot of things like moving helping a friend or just give a ride to a hot chick 4 of them at one time man it's a good old days
I love my G. I'm at 300,080 miles. I'm so sad because the car will die soon and I love it . But seriously such an amazing car no engine has lasted me this long with the way I drive and abuse it
Copping a 2004 G35 Sedan this Saturday For $4,900, super clean in and out. 140K miles. I’m paying cash so I might get it a little cheaper but what do you guys think? It runs good and no problems as far as I know.
Infiniti has been doing the badge engineering thing for years. A lesser known car they had was the J30 (from '93-97), and shared the chassis with the JDM Nissan Leopard J Ferie. As for the engine, that was borrowed from the 300ZX (Z32) which had the VG30DE engine. Sadly, the North American market didn't get the VH41DE.
like your info i have g35x love the way it handles not sure mpg yet going to cost for sure running the good fuel what muffle you think here the flex on muffler pipe goes a lot
Just baught a 04 g35 AwD uprgraded from i35 04 and 01 i30. Wow thank great info i want to gwt the same rims like u and smoke tint too with tinted lights
The Altima SE-R is Rare as fuck, and faster. Choose the g35 if you think its cooler. But Se-R is rare and sounds just sexy. everyone rides the g35s dick. when its actually slower than the Se-R.
Martin Ortiz I feel you, i wanted a mustang gt but to many people had them and im happy af I bought my 05 SE-R 6spd I've beaten a charger RT 4.7 thing is a v8 same with the Mustang 5.0 I've raced them from rolls. Their v8s! how can a v6 compete? because it's a dope as altima Type R ! Their faces when they get shit on by an altima is priceless bro. Get the altima it's worth the experience. It's fkn smooth af when you drive it because of the suspension it has. oh man theres just so much good stuff on the car. People don't know because they stay mainstream and stick to 1 thing.
I'm from new zealand and don't really see this car but when i see this i think its a skyline 250 or 350gt. do the US get the skyline 350 an 250 since gtr's are banned?
Just Like The 2006 Infiniti M35 It Was Made In 2004 As The Nissan Fuga & Nissan Fuga 350 GT It Came To America In 2006 As The Infiniti M35 & Infiniti M45 The Nissan Fuga Was Also Sold As With A 2.5L V6 Some Nissan Fuga Sedans Had Cloth Seats & No Sunroof
The 350 / G35 / GT-R share the same platform. It's called the FM Platform which is why Doug DeMuro gets on my nerves throwing the 370z under the bus. He now lives in the Z Capital of the USA (So. California) he should know better. The platform is obviously set up for customization.
I was tire shopping and I was reading that manufacturers limit speed based on the tire the car shipped with. might want to look into that. But why do you need to go faster then 125 if I can ask? also 6spd or automatic?
tj j yeah from my own experience 《 2004 maxima 6speed》 I was cruising nj everyone was going 100 and I was going a steady 120 and car still had more in it. I would search forums for your situation but there might not be allot of information because most people don't have a need to go above 125

the moment you lower it to the same ride height as the coupe is becomes so much better, It's funny how they left the stock height so high in comparison.

RC CARS NATION Why would you downgrade to a tiburon? lol unless you get the supercharged version it's not nearly as good as the G of any year.
Desmond Hebert the car had many issues that were going to cost me a lot more than what I paid for the car . I really like the tiburon its a v6 as well.

The Nissan skyline v35 was shipped over seas from Japan, it was then re branded to the Infiniti g35 because there are no Nissan skylines in the US.

Nissan GT350 Skyline was only on the Japanese and Australian market. In Europe it was Infiniti G35.
The v35 was never sold in Australia. You could have one imported but they were never sold in Nissan dealership’s.
the Turbo charged is a GT-R, skyline was way before the gtr. believe it or not almost all of there coups and seadan are made from the same uni boday.
The horsepower numbers were different
The tunes Were set up to be slower
I love my g37x S but 5.0 is the way to go for me. Mad love for my G but I always prefer a Ford over any other
