Coconut Tart
Crust:
300 gr. All Purpose Flour
140 gr. Fine Sugar
3 gr. Salt
8 gr. Vanilla Sugar (or 1 tsp. Vanilla Essence)
6 Egg Yolks (from eggs that weigh 58-60 gr. each with shell)
180 gr. Cold Unsalted Butter
Tart Ring Size: 26cm
Walnut Filling:
300 gr. Finely Ground Walnuts
150 gr. Brown Sugar
50 gr. Melted Unsalted Butter

WOW! This is the most simple, easy, and oh so delicious dessert! Today was my first attempt at making it and I was asked to have this become part of our yearly Thanksgiving and Christmas menus. It’s oh so good with a hot cup of coffee next to the fireplace.
I love how everything is so gracefully done! And the finished product is so linear!! Mad props, man!!

I baked it today turned out lovely. But when I sliced it it seemed to break on the top and separate from the filling. What could have caused that. Perhaps the top was not thick enough. Do you bake in the middle of the oven,or the lower part? Thanking you Patricia
I am usually not keen on tarts. As Michael makes it that must be good. I will eat this one.

That tart looks amazing! As a Belgian, I wonder where Belgian Bakery Recipe comes from? I haven't seen this tart nor the jam tarts here in Belgium. Those jam tarts are in my oven right now! They smell amazing already. Cannot wait to make this walnut tart. Thank you for posting instructional videos, they are very clear and well explained.
This tart do exist. You definitely fine them in a high end bakeries, not the usual bakeries. Usually in a big city like Brussels. You probably find them in different shapes and design. High end bakeries are all about art and creativity. A small 8cm tart can cost 5 or 6 euro per peace. Wish you lots of success.
