    Hi Dr. Kong! I've received uc msc IVs and injections for osteoarthritis and facial injections for Trigeminal damage. I was just told from a plastic surgeon that uc MSCs and placental too do not have living, virile msc stem cells.....he said they're "dead." Could you please debunk this logic! He only does autologous MSCs from fat and bone. I am definitely NOT a candidate for autologous therapies because of my underlying inflammation and lots of senescent cells. Again, could you please elaborate on the info that's floating around stating uc MSCs are "dead" and do nothing. I love your content and research. Thank you!❤

      It is really unfortunate that there's a lot of misinformation floating around, and some myths have persisted, such as the myth that birth tissue derived stem cells do not have live cells. That has been debunked by third-party testing results for products from many companies. It's sad that people would perpetuate incorrect information for their own gains or due to ignorance.

      I have not had experience dealing with frozen shoulders from Parkinson's disease. Whether or not Stem Cell Therapy can help depends on what caused the frozen shoulders in the first place. Since no one knows exactly why frozen shoulders occurs in Parkinson's, it is difficult to say whether or not Stem Cells can help. However, that said, anti-inflammatory medications and steroids are the main methods of treatment for frozen shoulders caused by Parkinson's... and since anti-inflammatory activity is one of the main mechanisms of how stem cells help the body repair, there's a chance that Stem Cell Therapy could be helpful.

      Sorry if it was not clear. The cost of stem cell therapy at our clinic is based on dosage of cells needed, which is determined by a person's bodyweight, age, and health issues, as well as considerations such as whether local injections is necessary in addition to IV infusions. Generally, treatment cost for most people ranges between $8500-$18,000 per treatment.

    You never really said what it would cost to do an IV treatment. Just what a single localized shot would cost (5.5k 6:20), or a bunch of joints with an IV (20k 6:28). You start to give a breakdown on how to do the calculation: it's 1cc per 60lb of body weight, plus 1cc for a health complication, plus 1cc for being advanced in age over 65. But you didn't give the per cc cost. If I assume there is 2cc in a joint shot (as you said a joint shot is 1-2cc 5:01), that would work out to 2.75k per cc. Is that the right ballpark to be able to make an IV estimate based on the afore mentioned parameters?
    It seems like someone 40+ might like to do an annual IV, but of course, it would be nice to know what that would run. I'm also curious if one was interested in this sort of treatment, would there have to be a specific health difficulty one was trying to treat to be eligible to sign up for the IV treatment?

    • @JoyKongMD
      @JoyKongMD  4 месяца назад +3

      I'm sorry if I did not make it clear, and got lost in telling people what goes into the dose calculation. Basically at our clinic, with all the adjunct treatments as part of the protocol, we charge $8500 for the first 2 cc of stem cells, and each additional CC we charge $2500. And you're right, final does depend on a person's weight, age and health issues. Most people require 2-5cc, so $8,500 to $16,000 at our clinic. But if one wants to add exosomes or various local injections etc, it could go higher... Hope this makes it more clear.

      Thank you for sharing your experience. Sorry you do not notice any benefits. Using a person's own themselves has various limitations, which have discussed in different podcasts and lectures, especially when a person is older in age. But how is processed and administered are all important. Using younger cell sources that's processed correctly, targeting various mechanisms of the condition through the different properties of stem cells, and also using an integrative approach to address.various underlying causes of the condition will be crucial for the success of the treatment.

    Hello Dr. Kong. You mention IV injections, is that stem cells or Exosomes or both? Also how these cells successfully getting through the first pass barrier of the lungs? The idea of Stem Cell has been trapped in the lungs through IV Route is somewhat of an old concept. Studies have shown that within three days, the cells are no longer detectable in the lungs. If a person has lung pathology, it is likely that a lot of cells would stay in the lungs. But if the person has healthy lungs, most likely the cells will migrate out of the lungs. And thank you for your kind words about my video.

    It would be good to know what the cost per 100 million cells is at your clinic. How many cells per kg. would be applied for a IV treatment ? Does your clinic have a lab that extracts the MSCs and supplies your clinic with umbilical cord derived MSCs material ?
    I agree, people are "fed up" with the system that applies medication exclusively, and excludes the treatment with MSCs.
    I have a complicated medical situation, all the medication treatments offered, involve side effects, and the threat of infection. The new small molecule drugs that block/inhibit bio-pathways to effect a change/eliminate an associated bio-chemical or cell, in my mind are similar to eliminating a couple of cogs of a gear that is a part of a very complex gearing system. Theoretically, I think that MSCs are better suited to bio-chemical applications due to the fact that these cells are designed to sense the environment in the body and respond to the bio-signals for modulation, repair, and rejuvenation.
    It disconcerting that apparently this potential translational regenerative medicine has been seemingly suppressed. Many times I have heard the general statement "there's no big money in it", "the source material can't be patented" that's why it hasn't been more quickly developed, or the pharmaceutical industry has not pursued this science. There is a company named Mesoblast Ltd. that has a mesenchymal lineage cell line MSC derived product, it has been a long road for them to have their product approved for the US, the company's products that are available internationally.
    I'm impressed that you would consider helping people that would find a treatment cost prohibitive, and thus excluded from the benefit. Thank you for being upfront, transparent, and clear in your explanations and information Dr. Joy Kong.

      Thank you for your questions. You are correct in your sentiments about the medical landscape currently.... I mentioned in the video that the treatment is not just about cell count, as large number of cells used overseas doesn't necessarily translate into improved quality and efficacy. Actually it could cause more side effects. To understand what we do and tailor that to each person, a consultation is necessary. We do not just quote pricing for "certain number of cells."

      @@JoyKongMD thank you for the response, I'll contact your clinic and figure out the path ahead. One observed aspect of this evolving science is that the use of exosomes as opposed to MSCs is not well defined. I think that the MSCs are a superior method due to the fact the MSCs are live cellular entities and can sense the environment that they are in and secrete appropriate extra cellular vesicles that are relevant to the system in the body as a whole.
      The exosomes are the result of MSCs in an artificial environment and the characteristic of the exosomes might be general therefore not selective in the extra cellular components excreted. I have had exosomes two different times and felt that the chronic GVHD that I have was slightly exacerbated for a short time after the application of the exosomes. One time was 200 billion IV, and the other was micro-needling on my skin in the area of my lower calves and ankles where there is excessive fibrosis. I am particularly interested in the characteristic of umbilical cord derived MSCs in reducing, resolving, fibrosis due to the scleroderma which is a result of the chronic GVHD from allogeneic HSCT.

    Hi Dr. Kong... can MSC be administered via direct injection and/or IV to a person with active cancer or within 10 years of last cancer surgery?
    On one of Dr. Arnold Caplan's lectures, he mentioned because MSC sees solid tumor as injured tissue or leaky blood vessels, the MSC will go to the blood vessels & stay there as pericytes. I also read that MSC influences cancer cells via modulating signaling pathways or affecting pathways of apoptosis and proliferation. It is so confusing... will MSC promote cancer progression or inhibit cancer? What is your take on this?
    I had papillary carcinoma & undergone a full thyroidectomy surgery, followed by RAI (radioactive iodine treatment). The cancer came back, some were on the lymph nodes, so I had a 2nd surgery 1 year after 1st surgery. During the 2nd surgery, 2 remaining tiny thyroid cancer cells couldn't be located/removed. The surgeon deemed the risk to benefit ratio was too high due to cancer cells size & risky approximate location (similar to needle in the haystack situation). He recommended to monitor/check every few months eventually yearly & not do 3rd surgery until after the cancer cells grow large enough to be able to be located/removed. It has been over a decade & the cells remains the same size with no health issue. What risk will MSC treatment via IV and/or direct injection have in my case? What recommendation if not MSC or some type of combined treatment do you have for me who is in my 50s? Thank you very much in advance if you can help shine a light on this.

      So glad you like it. Botox can definitely help release wrinkling of the skin caused by repeated contraction of the facial muscles. So, it can reduce previous wrinkles (or completely erase them if they have not become too deep), and also help prevent the formation of new wrinkles. I think as an adjunct anti-aging tool it is absolutely fantastic. However, if you do not address the underlying structures such as collagen production in the deeper skin layer, or the muscle and tendon underneath (that grows to be lax and droopy with aging), then you will still have aging of the face... That's when I think a healthy lifestyle and the addition of stem cell Infusions is so powerful.❤️

Unless the hospitals donate them to labs, then labs process and clean them and then donate them to you? Which is highly unlikely. So the bottom line is these tissues ARE sold and bought. They should take a small sample size from the batch of cells before injection to check its’ potency, and not lose their potential by culturing them before. You are wasting the healing aspect. Using all of the umbilical cord stem cells is fine for bone, connective tissue, muscle, cartilage and fat cells, but it will not help in organs or degenerative diseases. There’s only one kind of stem cell that does it all and many times more beneficial than what’s talked about here. Any guesses?

First, there’s too many that are constantly coming out. Second, there are many that are not published on the web or are kept private. I did take time to watch your video. Thank you. I have to point out for people watching the video, that some of the research listed are talking about umbilical stem cells improving conditions as I mentioned in my first message in what they differentiate into, but they are not vital organ specific stem cells. You had one listed study done by China and Ukraine and that was fetal stem cell. Also, the Autism part was misleading if you weren’t carefully paying attention. While MSC from umbilical cord blood and tissue may help in factors and conditions to gain function, it’s not the best. The clinical science shows that it can help, but It certainly can’t make neuronal cells. The same with the heart or kidney. It can do as you say improve the immune system and reduce the inflammation so the body can heal itself. I know you are promoting your business and I think you want to help people understand more about stem cells, which is great. I just think some of the information gets blended together that people get the impression that it does more than it does. Umbilical cord stem cells will improve your vascular system which nourish your cells. The only place where they could get the most powerful stem cell therapy(Fetal Stem Cells) would be clinical trial some where or Ukraine. I still enjoy you videos Dr. Joy so keep them coming. Thank you.

      Thank you for your comment. However, numerous search from all around the world have shown benefits of Stem Cell Therapy on diseases of many internal organs, including helping with Repair of the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or even enhancing ovarian function... Whether the cells came from a person's own body or from the umbilical cord, or even from the pho source, still proves the point that these cells have potent healing properties... and where they came from are the finer points. Fetal stem cell therapy is not legal in the United States, and there are a lot of ethical objections. I think the stem cell field is rapidly evolving, and in the future we may be able to find much better and more interesting options.

    • @bendungee1669
      @bendungee1669 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@JoyKongMD Hi Joy. We both agree that stem cells have benefits helping the surrounding systems to support the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and ovarian, but to what degree is a big factor. You mentioned in many of your videos that umbilical cord stem cells are better than autologous stem cells, because they are younger and “intelligent” than older ones. I totally agree. It’s like a slow crawl compared to a fast crawl. You will get where you need to more quickly. Now compare that to Fetal stem cells and it’s like a person can fly. The healing factor is that much greater and last much longer than common three months, more like over a year. I am aware that FSC (fetal stem cells) have ethical issues for some people, which I think some are not what they think. Apparently some people think FSC donor are compensated, which is not at all the case. Also, there’s over 40 million abortions world wide according to the WHO that’s just wasted potential to help lives even though these lives never got a chance to flourish. There’s only one place where it’s legal and regulated and that’s Ukraine.

    • @JoyKongMD
      @JoyKongMD  8 месяцев назад +1

      Appreciate your input. I am relieved to hear that compensation is not part of the picture for most of the fetuses used for stem cell therapy. There still need to be more studies comparing umbilical cord-derived stem cells versus fetal sourced stem cells, since umbilical cord stem cells Have characteristics that are in between embryonic stem cells and a newborn baby's stem cells due to the early trapping in the cord during embryogenesis. I would love to see studies comparing fetal stem cells directly with umbilical cord stem cells... So please do share if you have such studies available.

      @@JoyKongMD I appreciate you doctor I really do. I think you're extremely knowledgeable in this space & passionate about the services you provide. I've watched many of your videos & love the info you provide, but it was a simple question. You could've provided a range to give people an idea because it's really based on the provider & what they choose to charge. An individuals condition is information you obtain from a patient, the treatment itself local/IV & # of sessions to start, should definitely be able to be narrowed down. It's a bit misleading & unfair to talk around the topic when so many people are seeking this service & may or may not need to save for it. We know it varies per provider but giving a general idea wouldve been helpful.

    • @JoyKongMD
      @JoyKongMD  5 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your kind comment. Umbilical cord stem cells have been shown to be extraordinarily safe. But of course, in any medical procedure, a provider has to be skilled and responsible, and perform the treatment correctly. Problems from any medical procedures using umbilical cord cells tend to be a result of either subpar products that could be contaminated or lacking in quality cells, or subpar skills on the provider's part, resulting in more pain, swelling, or other issues.
